Here’s another theory… the kitty is a Florida State fan & just realized his/her human is a Florida Gators fan (hence the colors), not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Hon Glad, I know what you’re talking about! My daughter’s volleyball coaches would assign people each game for “ball shagging” which means kind of gathering the stray volleyballs. But to me, that sounded rather….er….awkward. (hmmmmmmm. If this one gets moderated, I’ll TOTALLY understand why)

I really LIKE the color of that rug. Plus think of what it could have been: one of your favorite 70′s den/rumpus room colors: [more] burnt orange, olive green (ack!) – you know what I’m saying.
One of my Things To Do Someday is to tell a home improvement person I want shag carpeting in the kitchen, to see his/her reaction.
Shag carpet in the kitchen…. As I say to my husband every time he asks if I want to “see a trick”: You clean it up. (I have yet to see a trick.)
