As y’all know, I am a SUCKER for trompe l’oeil pet costumes. The fake legs, the mini “riders”—awesome! Chief Sister Occifer picked some especially redonk ones:

Sure, here’s a direct link!

I am definitely gonna buy one

  2. ceejoe says:

what, none for cats? heh heh…

  3. Mary says:

Oh my god, a princess riding a unicorn!!!!!
I wonder if they make them in big girl sizes! My princess is not a petite little Bichon lol.

  4. Tigress says:

Cats don’t put up with costumes. Any attempt to create one would result in masses of shredded fabric everywhere.

  5. Cashew says:

I <3 the long-suffering beagle. That's not even a good costume, its like somebody wrapped him in a fish! LOL!

  6. Ali says:

OMG! It’s the last Bichicorn in the world. Stay away from traveling carnivals.

  7. Meg says:

I must give props to the Beagle-swallowing trout—a NEW INNOVATION this year.

  8. Look on the ground.. IT’s a bird… It’s a plane… No it’s super dog
Faster than a flying elephant. able to leap three stacked kitties in a single bound… Superdog!

  9. Okay my favorites… Hippy Dog, Princess Leia Pup, Dorothy Dog, Super dog, of course the unicorn pup… and the dog swallowing fish..which is sheer genius.

Hmmm tries to plan a kitty costume… Maybe Lilac would wear something!

    Something appealing
    something appalling
    Something for everyone
    A costume ball tonight

So wrong they are right. I am worried about the fish that swallowed a beagle and the Tyrannosaurus Wonderpoo with the weird little fist paws.

Talk about an instant mood lifter!

Not only is it ‘Tocktober, it’s near time for PET COSTUMES!!! (yes, I am yelling that.) Yay!!

    “Ceeeelebrate good time, whoo-hoo!”

  13. debg says:

Instead of a fish costume for your kitties, try a fish cat-bed. The best part is when my kitties actually crawl inside to sleep. If I knew how to post a photo, I’d do it (any suggestions? I don’t have a website.)

  14. cafegrrl says:

OMG!! I’m gonna order the princess / unicorn one NOW…!

  15. flittertwit says:

A great kitteh costume WOULD be a pile of shredded cloth, fake eyes and a few sequins to complete the effect. How easy… just place next to kitteh, ring doorbell and squeeek “Trick or Treat” …

  16. Chris says:

I have to disagree with you on this one Meg…. pets in costumes always look unhappy. :(

  17. warrior rabbit says:

I have to disagree with you on this one, Chris. It depends on the dog. All of the above excluding the beagle look fine, and the beagle just looks a little resigned.

And my brother’s dog, his semi-niece puts a tutu on her sometimes. As far as Sophie (the dog) is concerned, anything that keeps her at the center of attention and continuously touched is FANTASTIC.

  18. Quats says:

I don’t have a dog, but I would GET ONE if they had a Sir Didymus-and-Ambrosius costume from the movie Labyrinth.

  19. victoreia says:

    Labyrinth ref! ROCKS!

  20. Alleykitten says:

Adorable! Too bad I’m boycotting Target.

  21. January says:

    Totally cheesy.

  22. @January
    Cheesy is the new black.

  23. Jenn in IL says:

The pic of the Shiba Inu dressed like a pterodactyl (sp.?) – they must have gotten that Shiba drunk enough to think that was a great idea. Pretty sure mine would kill me with her laser eyes of hatred if I attempted to do that to her…hmmm…(thinking)

  24. ratchic says:

My favorite, not shown here, is a big dog costume meant to look like the horse and headless horseman riding on top.
