Jerilyn: Captive octopi are notorious for escaping from their tanks, especially with arms like safecracking tools (the better to make clams sleep uneasily). Obviously, staying high and dry isn’t good, but as moist as that little guy looks to be, I’m sure he wasn’t out of the water long when the pic was taken.
