OK, not only is the video just the sweetest thing ever, the editing of this vid is really impressive! She really got the scenes lined up to cur perfectly with the cheezy 70s love song! Kudos for the amazing video production AND for the smartitude to acquire two such precious little muffins.
BTW…who’s the interloper about 2/3s through? A potential new love interest? An unknown love child from pup’s mis-spent youth? Do I smell a sequel in the works?

Not only is there an interloper around the end of the vid, potentially initiating trouble for the lovely couple, the thing also seemed to start as a love triangle. The pup literally came between the two cats in the beginning, and ever since, the other cat was nowhere to be seen! The whole video oozes soap opera-worthy material!

Pretty sure that’s a Basenji pup, also known as cat-dog. This is teh major attraction between the two yesssss… Cute as puppehs, but will grow up to have the attitude of a cat with the legs of a gazelle what runs away fast when you call!

That is defo 100% rat terrier–not just his looks, but the way he moves, the way he makes “eye contact” with the camera, his style of giving affection and his expressions are all classic “rat dog”! They baroo it up all the time! I like that they’re a little known, all-American breed, and if the “rat” name keeps them from getting too popular, all the better!
Hey Rose–nice rat terrier info link–I named mine Teddy Roosevelt after the legend described there. Another version I’ve heard credits the breed name rat terrier to Roosevelt’s pups–according to legend, they cleared a building on the capital grounds of rats in record time, and press coverage referred to them as “Teddy Roosevelt’s little rat terriers.” I have no idea if that’s remotely true, but I enjoy believing, so believe it I do!

I didn’t know rat terriers had curled tails — is it uncommon, or is it perhaps mixed with Chihuahua or Basenji?

On the rat terrier tail question: Usually, rat terrier tails are docked when they’re lil bebehs, so that’s probably what you’re used to seeing. Ratties with full tails often have curly ones.

My guess on the cat breed is some kind of Balinese/Javanese. I love how they both have the same pointy snouts, couples do start to look alike I hear . . . .

I once had a Basenji and I’d say there’s a large part of that breed in there. Maybe not 100%, but definitely a LOT of Basenji – from the ears to the curly tail. Look up the breed and you’ll probably agree.
