In an amazing bit of synchroncity, I just watched Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines this afternoon. Did you know that you can pacify a charging hippo with chocolate?
(I don’t really think so but they got away with only one lost paddle and one hippo bite out of the canoe)
Oh no and now I watched House Hippo! What a sweet ad! And of course I instantly wanted a House Hippo of my very own. I’d be happy to leave my lint and crumbs around. In fact, I’m already doing that so why don’t I have a House Hippo? Or do I and don’t know it? (leaving to go search the House for Hippos….)
Thanks to CO, I have an indelible image burned into my brain of the backside of a swimming hippo (and hippoette!) I know that I come here for a daily dose of cute but this… this….yikes! And I love the house hippo ad, too!!
Okay, everybody, you must check out the video of Imani the baby hippo. It’s in the queue after the house hippo ad. I’m in love. Who knew that hippos flapped their ears in such a cute way?!!!
As a toddler, a hippo yawned at me. In the hippo’s defense, I probably wasn’t being very entertaining, but to this day I remember running for my life. I’m still a bit afraid of the front end of a hippo, but this picture is just fine! Cute, in fact!
My brain, it is exploding. Just: wow.
p.s. not to be a pest, but if you mean the children’s magazine, it’s Highlights with an s.
Blorp..
Major blorpitude, and baby blorp, too!
Whoa. Their feet look sort of metallic.
(blorp)
QofD, you didn’t know that hippos have metal feet?
Blorp blorp blorpity blorp!
Oh dear, I have watched far too much David Attenborough, for I know too much about hippos to be comfortable with this angle.
Hi skippymom! Like Terminator 2?!
Q, my knowledge of “Terminator” is woefully nonexistent, but OK, sure, I guess.
Clearly Mom Hippo is still carring her pregency weight
Great photo! Wonder how it was taken… Hippos are dangerous!
I feel so thin right now…heading to the pool!
Also a must see: the House Hippo!
LOVE the House Hippo ad. Shhh * sneaky eyes* don’t tell anyone, but I leave crumbs from peanut butter on toast for them.
Holy moly, that’s some world class blorpitude and blorpitudette!
Might be the best hovertext ever. And the blorp is fantastic.
Anteater? Upside-down raccoons?
How wonderfully blorpulous!
Tail = anteater nose. The raccoons I don’t see either. Death by hovertext is not helping me think, of course.
^— Hippo privacy tail. *nod*
“THAT’S NO MOON!!!”

BLORPTOCKS!!
Extreme blorpness (O.o) and behbeh blorpness.
OMG Hippo ‘tocks and ‘tockettes! And the hovertext FTW!
I fed a banana to a raccoon last night!

I’m suddenly in a good mood.

Hahahahahaahaaaaw!!!
I like how the toes clench. Reminds me of the bottom of a soda bottle.
I loved the House Hippo commercial!! I remember it came out when I was little.
