Can I tell you it took me a good 30 seconds to figure out it was the goat making that noise and not the person behind the camera messing with the girl on camera.
Granted, I don’t have a lot of experience with goats, but I have never heard a goat sound like THAT!

I hate to break it to her, but that goat was *ahem* making amorous advances to her. Those are the sounds a buck goat makes to woo a female (I know, sad and goofy, isn’t it). They snort and blubber like that when they are in rut and want to make more little baby goats. She is lucky that he did not do the other thing that males in rut like to do which is pee all over her. Phew!
That goat is obviously French.

@Cynthia, but if that if that is so, what would he be doing out there with the other goats? I thought that whole male billy goats had to be segregated, because of their anti-social tendencies, and their (ahem) hygiene.
Goats are pretty awesome. I want a little one.
@Theresa, nope, they are not segregated all the time. In fact, most goats are very unhappy when they are alone so at our farm we keep the boys together in their own pen (as long as they are getting along ok) either with other bucks or with wethers (neutered boys) as friends. Then, when we want the does bred we will run the buck with the chosen group of does for a little while (usually for a couple weeks or a month at a time). So the boy in the video may be in with a group of does that the owner wanted to breed, or those other goats might be wethers (though I don’t know why anyone would want that many wethers so that is less likely). There are some owners that leave the buck with the does all the time but that is generally considered a bad idea.
Also, the hygiene thing is not usually a problem year-round. That looks like some sort of Nubian or Nubian mix, and those are generally seasonal breeders so they would only go into a hard rut once a year. That’s when they get REALLY smelly because they pee all over themselves until they are just saturated with the stuff. The rest of the year they are still smelly but not nearly as bad. My Nigerian boys only go into a hard rut during the Fall even though they breed year-round.
Smells gross to us but I guess it is like expensive cologne to the girl goats.

I remember seeing this on Jay Leno. He said the exact same thing about the goat sounding like Jerry Lewis. It was the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen, mostly because of the lady’s contagious laughter.

The goat didn’t take any of the food, either. He just wanted to express his general disgust. I like how he made a kind of “arrrgh! Whatever!” sound at the end, before turning and walking away. It’s like he was cursing her as venomously as he could, but got frustrated at her laughter.
