Sidetracked by Wikipedia’s Tangled Web of Information, Bunny Wastes Day, Learns Little

I did not know that the world’s largest carrot weighed in at 19 pounds and was grown in Palmer, Alaska. Nor did I realize that the first lawn mower was invented in 1927 by Edwin Budding. Interesting…it seems cumin is the second most popular spice after black pepper. Who knew!

And holy crap, have you ever heard of these “jackalope” things??

First! (just testing the powers that be in the wake of a missing Ed.)

  2. Martha in Washington says:

Does Wikipedia also say that you are the cutest (and possibly smartest) bunneh ever? No. Well it should!

  3. Martha in Washington says:

@merv–I’d be careful if I were you. I’m sure there must be some residual Ed. in here somewhere.

  4. violet says:

Wow! I thought I was the only one wasting the entire day on the internet and learning meaningless stuff.

  5. 260Oakley says:

C’mon. You know he’s on Hare.net looking at pictures of hot buns.

  6. metsakins says:

Merv, even if he’s gone, I just wouldn’t. *looks over shoulder nervously*

  7. Berg says:

What a pretty bunny! S/he looks a bit like our orange tuxedo tabby cat (they both have similar attire).

Shouldn’t this bun be looking on Whiskerpedia?

BTW, whiskerpedia.com is available. I checked.

  8. Holly says:

    Mass disapproval at Wikipedia!

  9. rapunzel210 says:

That bunny is going down a wiki hole!

  10. BB/VA says:

Maybe bunny is applying for Ed.’s job online, under cover of research.

  11. Katrina says:

Great bun, great photos! Great story. I wouldn’t shout ‘first’ in a crowded blog, but, hey….

  12. Paunchie says:

BB/VA you are so right, that’s probably the new moderator!!

And I will so have to kiss his little nose! smooch!

    wikihole! *snerk*

  13. Paunchie says:

What was that post about the percentage of people who are chronic procrastinators…..staying off the interwebs. . . a good idear?

  14. cafegrrl says:

    He’s adorable. Sweet little nose!

  15. Theadosia says:

I’m afraid that whiskerpedia is not very reliable. The first mechanical lawn mowers were invented in the mid-nineteenth century and were instrumental in the rise of the middle-class suburb.

  16. mtkees says:

He’d edit the entry to include his disapproval but his little feetsie don’t reach the keys.

  17. Bunneh is totally thrilled: in his browsing, he has accumulated a treasure-trove of new things ov wich to disapprove…….. O Happee Day!!!

  18. DKN says:

I totally read that hovertext as saying “Jessica Rabbit is smoking POT”. LOLZ

  19. Theresa says:

He’s not even on FaceBun yet. Once he starts posting those party pics up there, the boss will be all over him. :P

  20. Theresa says:

PS Doesn’t NTMTOM’ s title sound like an Onion headline? ;)

  21. Not That Mike The Other Mike says:

@Theresa: I didn’t write that spot-on Onion-esque title; Sarah (Prongs) did the honors there, and well done, too.

  22. DogEared says:

*i’ll say it”….would someone PLEASE monitor that bunneh and what he/she is viewing online….!

p.s. the tangled electrical cord is driving me crazy !

  23. domanato says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if this bunny knows more trivia than me…have you guys read Watership Down? Btw here’s a video of a rabbit being adopted and raised by a cat after his mom had died. He even feeds off the cat mother’s milk and plays with all her other kittens: http://shortform.tv/w/critters/cat-adopts-rabbit

  24. skyroom80 says:

Why, yes, Jessica Rabbit IS smokin’ hot. But shouldn’t there be some pet-nental viewing warning thingies in place so that Bunny doesn’t get inappropriate thoughts? Do bunnies go around trying to hump their peeps’s legs like dogs do?

  25. janet2buns says:

Bunneh is actually checking his Bunspace account. It seems he has 3 new buddy requests and a few profile comments. And he’s cruising the cute bungirls on the adoptable page….

  26. danbenzvi says:

Wow, I didn’t even know they made lapintops.

  27. janet2buns says:

@skyroom80: Bunnehs INVENTED humping peoples’ legs…feet….toys…other bunnehs…..the puppehs learned it from THEM. Neutered or not, apparently it’s still fun to do.

  28. skyroom80 says:

@ janet2buns: Thanks for the info! Good to know if I ever have my own bunny. I do know that when my tribble (aka guinea pig) was an adolescent he had many involuntary (I hope!), er, responses to me cuddling him. Went away after a month or so, though.

  29. nads says:

@ Theresa- that’s exactly what I was going to say!! Good ol’ NOMTOM, always gettin’ it right :)

  30. nads says:

Oh wait, I just read NOMTOM’s comment-kudos Prongs!

  31. cheesybird says:

    Been there, bunny. Been there.

  32. Andrew says:

I think he was just reading up on Oolong.

  33. bagoguts says:

danbenzvi – Good one! You’re giving 260Oakley some competition.

  34. Rachael says:

I sure hope there are some parental controls in place. A hot lookin’ bun could get into more than his/her share of trouble on the interwebs.

  35. Hmmm….speaking of which, better hop to it. Work won’t get done on its own.

  36. Beeny says:

    Intel Inside…Cottontail Outside! ;)

  37. RACHEL says:

What a cute little furrowed brow of disapproval!!!1!!1

  38. Estlin says:

Hey mods, can we rid ourselves of the losers – yes, losers – who think it’s fun to say “first” or some variation of “bleen” if they manage to post before everyone else? What they do is puerile and beyond annoying. Thanks.

    /end of rant

Just don’t let him visit TVTropes – next thing you know it’s 4AM and you have 97 tabs open.

I wonder if our furry friend here is checking out his e-Haremony account…

  41. Elise says:

Excellent! My rabbit loves the computer too, he likes to hop on the keyboard.

  42. Lula Mae says:

I love the concerned look. Never good to know too much!
