Set on luxurious black velvet, this wonderfully vivid oil painting by renowned artist, Clive Bunet, is one of his best works: “Rodent Lilies” is auction item #163.
Let’s start the bidding at two dollars.
I want my two dollars, Jo C.
Cute Overload :D
Rabbits are not rodents. And it’s adorabbles.
Oooh, spherical.
I bid eleventy jillion dollars!
I made a bid. But bunny disapproved of it. He kicked me out and told me to….
He’s so disapproving, this bunnies leeps have puckered inward!
he’s a sphere with legs! seriously look at him!
So ROUND!! I WANT!!
What a lovely picture.
lagomorph. lagomorph. lagomorph. rah rah rah. (Rabbits, hares, pikas. Rah rah rah!)
OMG I NEEEEED TO SQUUEEEEEEEESH HEEEEEEEEM!!!!!
I’m going to have to question the attribution on this one. This is probably an Edward Hopper. “Nighthops” perhaps?
a very cute bun
Iris: And ears. Don’t forget the ears.
(I totally clicked over to comments to make the lagomorph point…should have known that even with only ten comments ahead of me, someone would have beat me to it!)
Methinks that CO staff should be briefed on basic cute animal biology.
Hahahahaha! I’ve been watching Beetlejuice. (Remember that one?) Great lines in that movie such as: “Please. They’re dead. It’s a little late to be neurotic.” Or… “Open this door, you dead people, or we’ll bust it down and drag you out with the ropes you hanged yourself with!” (Gosh. No offense to anypeep out there). Hahaha! My daughter and myself and her friends and their mom’s are all going to go see Rocky Horror Picture Show next week! Swweeeeeet!
I want my two dollars….CASH!
Lagomorphs! Not rodents. But cute as HAAAALE nonetheless.
Ahhhh this is my bun! I didn’t know he made it onto here! ^-^
I disapprove of animals dressed as peeps, but ZOMG 260, I want a Nighthops diorama! with a blonde bun as the sodahop. And a beeg disapproving grey chinchilla bun or a black checkered as the Philip Marlowe-esque patron talking to the dwarf hotot dame with all the eyeliner. And the guy slumped down in the foreground as a lop.
Sigh, but this will have to do in the meantime:

Lagomorphs have fully furred feet and are completely spherical. This is what distinguishes them from rodents.
Round lago-bun.
LTF, de-lurking briefly, just to say that I went to an ARBA rabbit show in Bethpage, Long Island today and saw (and petted!) lots of super-cute bunnies, but THIS GUY wins the blue ribbon for me!
Dolly Steamboat, you are exactly right. Guinea pigs have the perfectly spherical part down cold, but they don’t have fully furred feet. (On the other hand, they DO have exactly 14 toes, which is a hallmark of the caviomorph suborder of Rodentia!)
Krishji, jealous. Haven’t been to an ARBA show in years. Some of those rabbits are even sillier looking than some of the chickens at the state fair. Off-topic, have you been to Old Bethpage Village? Great historical stuff, way less crowded than many better-known historic village re-creations. (I grew up in Levittown/Wantagh/ Hated it there, still do, but like visiting Old Bethpage when I have to go visit relatives.)
Oh hey. Now that I think about it, we don’t have a rule that says “perfectly spherical=cute” yet, do we? We should!
NEW RULE! NEW RULE!
Gee Ricki, I’m sorry that your mom blew up…
My little brother got his arm stuck in the microwave. So my mom had to take him to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this morning, and she freaked out. She hijacked a busload of penguins. So it’s sort of a family crisis…
Bun’s all “but I’m funny how, I mean funny like I’m a clown, I amuse you?”
Joanna—YOURE ONE LUCKY SPHERE-BUN MAMMA! GIVE HIM/HER LOTSA LOTSA SQUEEEESHES AND SNORGLES FOR ME!!!!!
I bet one hundred-billion-trillion-shabababalu-illion….. yen.
Agreed, Kelly!
Bunneh swallowed a boooowling baaaall!
