Hey peeps, there’s a new cat who showed up in my back yard a few days ago. She’s black with white whiskers, socks and a white bib. She drops in every now and then and comes in my cat’s door. She’s very sleek and pretty…like an Egyptian cat statue, very young and playful. I don’t know whose kitty she is or if she’s a stray. (although she doesn’t seem like a feral cat…she’s quite sweet and loving. I think she belongs to somebody but just visits which is totally cool with me). I call her Loretta for some reason. Her and SamKitty like to play together. How sweeeeeet!!
I smell a storybook romance!! sounds like Loretta is quite fond of your SamKitty. My cat Snowball was an outdoor cat her whole life, but now that she’s older (18 in people years!) she tends to stay indoors. Well, we were quite shocked when we found out that there were people whom we had never met that were wondering what had happened to her! Turns out, she used to make her “rounds” all over the neighborhood. She’s somewhat of a celebrity! It sounds like Loretta has a home, but enjoys spending time at your house as well…you and Samkitty should be flattered!
Joyce- I am so sorry for your loss. Stay with us, we understand. There will be a new animal companion for you, I just know it. Not to replace, but to add to both of your lives.

Sarah: I do feel flattered. I’ve noticed an interesting thing. SamKitty enjoys playing with Loretta when she visits for an hour or two…he has many toys and they play nicely together. But I’ve noticed that since she’s been coming over, Sam does a lot more rubbing of his cheeks against things once she’s left. I suppose to make sure his scent is all over his house.

I’d like to thank everybody for the love, hugs and kind words. My Penelope was a beautiful little girl and I’ll miss her dearly. If you’re interested, I’ve downloaded a couple pics of my fluffy girl here.
Also, there will be a new baby in my future. Penny’s “birth mother” is expecting and the new litter will arrive any day now. Hopefully, there’s a little girl in there who will join my little family in June.

Oh wow. Loretta has just made herself totally at home. She’s stretched out on my daughter’s bed, all huge paws and pink toe beans. I think maybe I’d better make some “found kitty” signs to tape up around the neighborhood. In the meantime, I’d better be quiet. shhhhhhhhhhh. She’s sleeping.
