Um, So What’s in the Finger Sandwiches?

After a simply pitiful day of work which included the stellar highlight of inadvertently tucking her skirt into her thong upon leaving the bathroom, Beatrice needed to relax and ordered a cup of Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea.

    Babies!

I’ve been getting my coop ready for my new babies; 26 little puff balls due to arrive around March 23rd. The bummer is that I’ve been summoned for jury duty the day they are to arrive in the mail! Everyone please pray that the case settles out of court so I can sit in the coop with my little ones.

  19. MJ says:

    It’s a cup of “chicks-n-soup”.

  20. BB/VA says:

Keeping fingers crossed you get to be there with your baby peepers.

  29. Dianne says:

Can I interest anyone in a soft drink ?

  30. Heather says:

Alice in Wonderland, now you’ve done it!

Perhaps you’d like a spot of tea rather than a cup o’ peeps.

  31. Rachael says:

I want the yeller one at the top left, plotting his escape… right into my heart! I’ve never given chickens much thought but they are super duper adorabuhls.

Also, aren’t the cup and saucer beautiful? How springish and lovely.

Jen W: Give the gorgeous Solo a peck on the cheek for me. *giggle*

  32. Theo says:

    The puns.
    They burrrrrn.

  33. ceejoe says:

Jen W – Solo is awesome! And your kitteh does not bother her/him? And is she/he litter box trained?

  34. ceejoe says:

oh, I forgot to say – squeeeee on the chickieees!!!

  35. Jerilyn says:

    @juniper — can you get a deferral?

Just a spoon full of chicken…

  36. Jerilyn says:

@Jill W — what amazing pictures! And I especially love the Pylones chicken purse and the Papillion. : )

  37. Ray says:

The local Murdoch’s store (farm supplies) had a big sign outside that said ‘Chicks now here.’ Imagine my disappointment when they meant chicks like *this*, not blondes or brunettes.

  38. pounce says:

When I was teaching kids in Korea, one of my friends had a book assigned in his class which was called “Let’s Go See The Black Chick!”

It did turn out to be about a chicken. :)

  39. BStrange says:

Oh. Em. Gee. BABY CHICKEEEENNNNSSSSSSSSS *BOOM*

    …ow…

    …Bactine, please… and the rainbow mop, ifyou’dbesokind.

    Each cup guaranteed to have at least a Baker’s dozen or moar, of lively teeney tineey peeps: no need for the Easter Bunny to bring the marshmallow candy kind;
Here you have the real thing…….! Call now……Our operators are waiting, so have your credit card ready……But you have to call NOW…….!!!

  41. FinnMacCool says:

    Cuppa Chicken, hold the noodles.

  42. Alex says:

Do me a favor, Eds, and *don’t* post any cute shrimp, okay? I really hate tofu and all forms of soy-based fake meat, so I want there to be one animal left I can still eat.

[Hey, don't knock it until you've tried my blackened tempeh. - Ed.]

  43. juniper says:

Ha! Can you just imagine the response if I asked the court for a jury duty deferral because of addiction to Cuteness! At least my husband will be here to take care of things if I must be gone all day for 3 days. Either way, the chicks will be warm and safe. I ordered Australorps, Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Silver Penciled Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, White Faced Black Spanish, Silver Leghorns and Anconas. McMurray Hatchery puts in a free chick, so there will be a surprise baby for me!

  44. Alex says:

Ed: I eat over at my vegetarian sister’s a lot, and so far she hasn’t managed to find a tofu preparation that I can stand. I have to try to force this stuff down to set a good example for her kids. Maybe you could send her your recipe?

  45. Wendy says:

    Chickatea :)

  46. Heather says:

Alex I despise tofu as well. Nothing with tofu in it ever gets in my mouth. And yes, like you, I’ve tried it in every way imaginable. Like creamy creepy Jello. ICK.

  47. Kasia says:

that’s one nice big cup of cu-tea there :D

  48. Arlene S says:

LOVE the pics! Congrats Jerry on being published!
