How did this little cutie escape our attention for over three years? He’s a Brazilian ocelot, born at The Louisville Zoo in November, 2007, and given the suitably diminutive name of… (booming echo effect) El Conquistador!

Oh mah gooodneeesss! Teh eyezez!
Now there’s a *beepable* nose if I ever saw one..
*beep*!
He almost has a sort of Marty Feldman thing going on too, if you look long enough.
Not a Lot of Ocelot.
I know, Theo, but it’s all we got.
meo… [ahem] [cough] grooowwwwlll!
Oh. My. God.
[dancing]
Omg. I just squeed my pants.
Oh my goodness! Has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen!!
I agree with Sue, that is The most beepable nose evah! And the chin.
Why couldn’t
that be my thumb/finger under that sweet chin? Don’t even get me started on the ears and eyes and whiskers. This is just too much to bear. You hear me? Too much. I must have him now please. I’m asking politely but really there is no other option.
Sometimes he gets behind schedule. Then he’s oscelate.
Oh, those eyes!!
it’s like he’s staring into my soul…
you are my density, oce-little
Osculate the Ocelot!
I love the Louisville Zoo! YAY! And the blue eyes are sucking my soul right into the interwebs…
I wouldn’t mind being awakened at 6:15 in the morning with this cutie’s whiskers in my face.
The little guy looks sooo soft!
I’ve been to that zoo! It was raining and the place was deserted. The animals were so bored that when we showed up with day-glo umbrellas, they all wandered over to the railing to see what was hurting their eyes.
Back on topic, those eyes will hook you faster than his itty bitty claws.
The radiating speckles mean “put food here”.
Actually, he seems to have only escaped your attention for about 28 months, well under 3 years. Credit where credit is due.
Cute, but why ‘El Conquistador’ ?
You’ve got a lot of ocelot when you’ve got one;
An ocelot can be a lot of fun, fun, fun.
—Something my father used to sing when I was little
@Ugo- If I’m not mistaken, El Conquistador means “The Conquerer”. I’m thinking they named him that for the same reason people name small dogs “Killer” or big dogs “Baby”, the humor factor.
YAY! So glad to see I’m not the only one who calls ‘em ocelittles! (I used the term in baaaaabyanimals on LiveJournal several years ago…there was one person who announced “I am going to go out of my way to find excuses to use that term in everyday conversation.”)
LOVE love love love LOOOOOVE this little one. SO adorables!!!!
My, what beautiful eyes you have!
“Look into my eyes…” “You are getting sleepy… Sleepy… SLEEPY!!” “Tell me your VISA number…”
“Hey, I’ll do anything for a little catnip!”
MORE Stinkin’ Ocelot Cuteness:
My blood sugar just spiked. And then went through the ROOF when I watched Theresa’s video.
Oh, this is too much. I’m done. I don’t merely WANT an ocelot, I want to BE an ocelot.
Aaaahhhh!!! Just watched the video too, I am impossibly more ded than I was before.
Re: El Conquistador’s name, he (and those ones in the vid above) have certainly conquered my soul.
Oh precious little ocelot,
What gorgeous dark blue eyes you’ve got.
I think that you are smokin’ hot;
I’d like to snorgle you a lot.
It’s not an ocelot…It’s a cute-a-lot!…
Why ‘El Conquistador?’ Because he has ‘conquistado’ my heart. Is why.
Hooboy: Ocelittle kittles……..Squeeeeeeeeee!!!
To all those who have already been conquered, I propose the following additional consideration. What eef , as een the hovertext, the leetle one has some wunnerful, attractive acksent? Weell that keel us *dedder*????? Weel that be an afterlife experience???
Signed,
Enquiring Minds
If (slightly vacant) looks could kill… oh, wait. *is dead*

@Theresa, your vid has made me DED. Thanks for posting it…it is awse!
A little earworm in honor of the little guy !
@Saffron, and yours skips the light fandango, turns cartwheels ‘cross the floor.
Is he wearing his conquistidor boots?
Those eyes! Killing me softly!
Conquistadorable!
[¡Naturalmente! - Señor Ed.]
Those have got to be the MOST BEAUTIFUL blue eyes I have ever seen!
*dazed*
Oh dear gawd. Those eyes, that nose… WANT!!!!
*grabby hands
will those eyes stay blue?
Hyura, nope those are baby blues. Adult ocelots generally have brown eyes.
can’t…stop….staring….into…eyes….can’t…stop…WANT!!!
Dali had an ocelot. So… I’m sure I can too?
[If you're sure you want to be more like Dali... - Ed.]
Like many others, I am conquered by El Conquistador’s gorgeous blue eyes, nommable ears and delicate whiskers.
Needs some ear rubbings, I say.
You know, he certainly is bright-eyed; the question remains, is he bushy-tailed?
the BLUE eyes!, that PINK nosie! and those whisker puffs!
Ode to an Ocelot
What blue eyes you’ve got
I concur your fur
Drops out a lot.
Well what were you expecting Wordsworth!
The bluest eyes! So beautiful! and as other posters have noted, the MOST BEEPABLE NOSE EVAR!!
His name seems apt, I certainly am conquered.
*Goes to fetch all her gold and jewels to present to the ocelittle*
Puffy whisker holders! Pink nose leather! *beep-beep, boop-boop*
When he goes to the playground and gets on the swing set, does he ocelate?
Procol Harum! I used to call them my favorite band no one’s heard of. It would seem that I am mistaken.
This ocelot is….. PRETTY GOOD.
OceLotoCuteness RIGHT THERE! U DOIN It RIIIIIIGHT
Why “El Conquistador”? This is a spanish name, and we brazilians speak portuguese.
(I hate when people come to Brazil and talk to us in spanish. When I go to USA or other english-speaking countries, I don’t talk in french to them. It would be disrespectful – and nobody would understand)
The brazilian name for this animal is “jaguatirica”. This is a beautiful baby.
@Bada: totally agree! Actually I came here to say the same thing =)
@ Bada: ditto
“O conquistador” is more suitable for this cuuuteee brazilian jaguatirica that surely doesn’t speaks spanish
Bluest baby blues EVER. And Hon Glad, Wordsworth or not, I liked it.
Personally, I think someone at the zoo is a Joel Lindley/Bob and Tom Show fan. (The show plays on a local station there.) If you’ve never heard Joel’s classic “El Conquistador” bit, you should try to find it.
Here’s the El Conquistador bit if anyone is interested.

Well, he’s certainly conquered me!
@BabyOpossum– perfect! There’s an earworm I’ll be happy to hear.

This cute animal (my favorite of the felines) is actually a wild animal, and very rarely can it be domesticated. Some countries in Latin America actually call them “small jaguar” (pequena onça-pintada) or small tiger. So, although I find them extremely cute, I would think twice before waking up with them in my face.
