  5. Martha in Washington says:

  6. a nonny mouse says:

  7. meee-ow-awww-some !!!!!! 😉

  8. Heather in Oregon says:

I may be mistaken, but I believe this might be a bengal? Its soooo tie tie! Wouldn’t you be if you had a furry little one too?

  9. Queen of Dork says:

Yum, yum, yum. Can I eats it? *into mouf* yummy.

  10. Queen of Dork says:

If your tongue curls while you’re yawning, is that a cute rule?

  11. Synchronized yawning ! My kind of Olympics.
Mommeh has one bebbeh – no wonder it does everything like mommeh.

  12. Alice Shortcake says:

It took me a full minute to notice the mini-yawner. Me eyes need testing…

  13. The FIRST RULE of having a brand new baby in the house-sleep when the baby sleeps!
    Camouflage works so well…..

  14. 260Oakley says:

Remake of Yawn of the Dead

  15. I would like to ask a favor of CO Nation. Nation, would someone please call my boss and tell him I will not be at work tomorrow because I AM DED. Beeeeyoootiful mom-cat and kitten yawning has made me dedder than ded.
    Thank you.

  16. Shame on me for not noticing the babeh until the third pic. WTF is wrong with me??? Well, that question is best left unanswered. Anyhoo, SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Saffron, I’ll call your boss, provided he’s willing to accept the word of another ded woman. *thud*

  17. New category suggestion: synchronized yawning!

  18. Like mommy like baby! *yawn*

  19. snoopysnake says:

I was wondering why big kitteh only had a cardboard box for its blanket/bed – then I spied baby kitteh in the 2nd photo. Squeeeeeeeee!

  20. They’re both Bengals currently being fostered. Their names are Ziggy (baby) and Zoraline (Mom). Ziggy is only 10 days old, I believe, and this was an accidental shot as Kim was trying to capture Zora’s yawn and… well, you know the rest. 😉

  21. DataGoddess says:

They are rescued bengals that Kimberly is fostering. She got them from the shelter the day Ziggy was born. Zoraline has a wonky back leg, it was apparently broken at one point and didn’t set well.

Just watch Kimberly’s Flickr stream, she posts pictures of them pretty much daily 🙂

  22. I yawned, I melted. GREAT pic. 🙂

  23. i didn’t even see the baby in the first pic!!

    yeah very pretty markings 🙂

  24. Matchingks!!

  25. AliceBlue says:

Yes, but which yawned first, the mommy or the babe?

[My question is, how long did the photographer hold out? – Ed.]

  26. Am I seeing things or does the little one have a milk moustache?? ❤

[LOL. They don’t sip it out of a mug, y’know 😆 – Ed.]

  27. omg you guys, have you seen THIS one??

  28. MINI-ME!!!!

  29. this is such an awesome capture! and zuzzie, that link is FABULOUS. ❤

  30. A honk-shu hance? Man, I am lucky to be alive…..Zuzzie, that isn’t helping!(*snerk*)! Tuuuuuuuuuuuuummy!

  31. Queen of Dork says:

I just kissed the crap out of my cat. I couldn’t help it. He was sitting there looking so cute and I just had to do it. He said he’s going to sue me for doing that. He said I have to buy him extra catnip and I have to cook him a hot meal of fish, liverwurst and bacon tacos (?!) for the rest of my/his life. gosh.

  32. Look, if I’m going down I’m taking you all with me :))

  33. Oh a kitten!! I totally missed the little bitty in the first shot. Only saw it in the closeup. What a great photo.

  34. That’s some serious blankie camo action. Love the simul-yawns!

  35. I think this woman is the one who made “Broccoli Kitty” famous – if its the person I’m thinking about, she’s a superstar that fosters kitties all the time! I knew she had a Bengal mom and baby – great photo! 🙂

  36. I can vouch that yes this is indeed the broccoli kitty woman. She is so good with fostering the little ones! And with the camera!

  37. C.O.T.T.T.T.C.U.!
(Cute overload tie-tie tiny tabby close-up)

  38. This was me looking at the pics:

1 st pic: Oh what a beautiful cat.
2nd pic: Lovely close-up, wonder however why it is not centered on the cat’s face. Oh well, maybe it’s to show off the beautiful fur pattern.
3rd pic: ZOMG where did that come from???!! Was that baby there in the 1st and 2nd pics also?????!!!!!

I can be so slow sometimes…

Oh, and Zuzzie: that baby is UNREAL!!!!

  39. kibblenibble says:

Scrumptiously Qte. And the blankie, is it a combo of houndstooth and plaid? Who knew that would be such good camo for a TINEE TABBEE! These Bengal-type cats are so gorgeous. The sweet baby just looks like a regular stripey kitty, though. Does anyone know, will the colors change to resemble the mama more?

  40. If I yawn too, can I jump in with mom and bebeh?? Please!?!

  41. LOL Ed, I know, I just couldn’t believe the cuteness of it 🙂

  42. Oh, what a neat thing to find my pic here! To answer some questions:

Yes, I am also the woman from Broccoli Kitten. I foster kind of a lot, and take a LOT of pics and video.

These are Bengal rescues. I pulled them from the shelter they were in, in response to this post from Neil Gaiman’s assistant. The rescue lady thinks the mother is pure Bengal, but the baby seems unlikely to be. We don’t know their story – she was picked up as a stray, but she is definitely NOT feral.

There is only one kitten, which nearly killed him. There was a second one who was either stillborn, or died shortly after birth (at the shelter). Ziggy alone isn’t enough to stimulate much/any milk from Zoraline, so I’ve been supplementing him with formula. At three days old he nearly died of dehydration, and certainly would have at the shelter. Fortunately I have a lot of infant kitten experience and was able to give him sub-q fluids, formula, and the rest of what he needed. I’m very glad he was here, and not somewhere else.

As far as getting this shot, I was focusing the camera for something else, and saw her yawn, so thought I’d snap that. I had no idea that Ziggy was yawning too, until I offloaded pics from the camera, and I literally squeed out loud, called everyone in the house over, and just DIED of cute!

  43. *yawn* Yaaay Kimberly! *yawn* I’m so glad you not only managed to save this bebbeh, but you’re giving a good (if perhaps temporary) home to the momma as well *yawn* I’m laughing *yawn* that you didn’t even notice bebbeh Zigster yawning *yawn* until you saw the picture on your computer! *yawn*

Okay, that’s quite enough of that. Seriously qte picture, I’m in love with both momma and bebbeh. And it had me yawning so much that I passed it on to the doggehs. Who then passed it back to me. Then back to them. Then I had to leave the room to break the cycle.

  44. Ded from teh qte.

  45. Yawns are contagious!

  46. Waaaanttttt….. love the yawnhance….. waaaaaantttttttt… stupid uber-allergies…. WANT!!

*yawns, then falls over flatlined by the super-hance*

  47. Tiinnnyyyy Taabbbyyyy! ❤

  48. I wish I lived out there–I’d take these kitties in a heartbeat. How could anyone NOT want a wonderful mamakitty and baby like this??? 😦

  49. I luv how the bebbeh’s markings make her blend in with the blanket….so cute!!

  50. Queen of Dork says:

Peeps, tough times here in Casa Dork. It’s difficult for me to have a happy thing. Will you please pray for me and/or send nice vibes?

  51. I have never been so in love with a picture in my whole life. Soo darling!! I could gaze at it for hours! The teeny nose the size of a pinhead, the ears on the sides of the head, the pink toothless gums . . . Sonnets should be written about this sort of thing!!

Kimberly, you rock! For fostering animals, saving sick baby cats, and introducing the term “infant kitten” into my lexicon. ;P

  52. I think this is the first time I’ve gasped audibly. I didn’t see baby yawner until the Close Up! Extra treat!

  53. Such beautiful markings, I loooove Bengals.

Q of D whatever is the matter? You got the vibes whatever it is.

  54. Mary (the first) says:

Yep, this made me gasp out loud at the cuteness! Beautiful Bengal kitteh and the babeh is so sweet! So cute! So tie-tie like his mommeh!

  55. QofD, what’s wrong? I want you to have a happy thing. Good thoughts and prayers comin’ your way. *hug*

  56. Queen of Dork says:

    My child is sick.

  57. Sending MASSIVE amount of vibes and beams of love to QoD and her child.
    ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

@Kimberly…you ROCK for taking in fosters. What a wonderful person you are!!
    ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

  58. Sending love to the Princess of Dork.

  59. @mie – Fun thing is that she didn’t see the baby herself until she’d gotten the photo off her camera and looked at it full-sized. (Yes, this is someone I know. Yes, she raised broccoli kitten, and countless other kittens, though she’s probably got the count in a spreadsheet somewhere, as she geeks about it, too.) Here’s how the kittens came to her, with the baby just a newborn:

  60. LOL First I saw the mamma cat.. and then I saw the kitten and then GASP I saw the Kitten Yawn!

    ::Stifles yawn::

    Qof D

Sending hugs your way to you and your little angel.

  61. kibblenibble says:

Q of D, you spread so much happy here at CO, I send happy healing thoughts to you and the princess. ♥♥♥

  62. In case some of you might like to see these two cuties in motion, I just uploaded a new video of them. And there are a bunch more there on my youtube account:

    Sneak Attack BATH!!!

  63. Kimberly, GAAAH! Lookit him! Round baby tummy! Big unfocused eyes-es, ears at 9 and 3! I love him flexing his little legs! DAWWWWW

And that mom kitteh is go-juss.

  64. Sneak attack bath! Unbelievably cute agh agh agh!!!!! Kimberly, you’re great! Thanks for your good deeds.
Dear QofD, prayers and good vibes your way.
    I love C.O., I really do!

  65. P.S. I didn’t notice mini-me until you guys wrote about it! Good grief!

  66. awww….the little yawnage is to cute! also small, hardly saw the little guy!

  67. Queen of Dork says:

Thanks for the warm feelings, everyone. Princess of Dork is taking the medicine the doctor prescribed and she’s feeling better. 🙂

  68. Surrealle says:

I felt like such a goof not seeing the kitten in the first pic.. Now I feel better knowing I’m nowhere near the only one..

In my defense, I was too mesmerized by the beautiful coat the mom has–gorgeous! (And the adorable kitten and synchronized yawning is just the cherry on top!)

  69. Darnit, CO… I am just not the message-board-forum-comment thread type… *deep put-upon dramatic sigh!* Buuuuut I had to look at a few more Ziggy vids after that one. Call me a sucker for Bengal-ness, between his cute and his mama’s gorgeous eyes I was doomed from the start and must gush. Kitten thumb sucking pose”: AWW. Kitten capsizing when set down, AWW. Kitten gnomping his own hind leg, AWW…. etc. ad overloadum.

So much self-washing for such a little guy! It kind of looks like he thinks those belly spots should come off if he just.. licks.. hard.. enough.. ENH!

Extra bonus good vibes (and semi-bengal kitten belly spots) to the Queen of Dork and the heir to the throne, too. *nod*

  70. Oooh, little Tiger in Training is adorable! Kimberly, what a blessing that you are available to foster these beautiful creatures. Every kitty should be so lucky.

  71. That made ME yawn, lol. Adorable!

  72. QoD, Dante is sending the most deep-tissue-rocking purrs.

  73. Kimberly, Love the video. It’s as if Mom thinks kitty is geting to much human smell on it and that she better dart in to give a good dose of cat lick

  74. Fran in L.A. says:

QofD, I’ve come out of lurking to send you {{{{{many hugs}}}}} and many, many prayers. I’m glad the Princess is taking her medicine. Please keep us informed.

  75. Charlotte says:

I really, really wish I could take these in and give them a forever home… But I live in teh UK… 😦

I remember seeing this somewhere on LiveJournal first. Such beautiful, beautiful kitties…. ❤

  76. So, QOD, how is the Princess? Is the royal household ok? Deep breathes…it is awful to have a sick heir. Hope all is well by now. Your friend and fellow snerky Peep, Katrina

  77. I figured that cat had to be at least part Bengal from her markings; the baby is obviously not full Bengal. But they’re both gorgeous!

  78. *sends vibes to both Queen and Princess of Dork* Get well soon!
Wow, in some of the later pics, Ziggy’s eyes are HUGE. Way to go, Kimberly! They’re both beautiful!

  79. Queen of Dork says:

Thanks peeps! The Princess is doing alot better now. The doctor did good!!

  80. Daphne Moss says:

Thank ye sooooo much for sending in that Synchronized Yawning adorableness…
It is to die for….*falling over…*

  81. @Kimberly 😀 I am so happy to hear that you are able to foster Zoraline and her baby, Ziggy 😀

  82. Delicious Kitty Yawn-now in fun-size!

  83. This kitteh is just ridiculously cute. Seriously.

  84. Yay, Zoraline and Ziggy! Two of the cutest kittehs I *know*!

  85. I didn’t even see the kitty until the enhance
