They may be difficult to read while awake, but cats’ true personalities shine through when they’re asleep.
Meet Moe, the Patriot: Hard worker; loves dry food, catnip & apple pie.
Meet Gweneviere Pouncington, the Aristocrat: Mingler; loves lobster tail, flan & Fancy Feast (but only if stranded on island not owned by Richard Branson or similar).
We salute/want to eat tenderloin with you, GrangerGuy & Owen R.

Gweneviere’s curled paws are soooo becoming and soooo classy.
Love the cats, but not the tenderloin.
Vegetarian for Life!
When they’re asleep, it’s very easy to read that little “M” on their foreheads, which stands for “Moron”.
Both kitties have awesome paw posishes, and Gweneviere has smoochable little leeps.
Don’t you mean “AristoCat?”
awwwww. . I want to smooch both of those little morsels right on their whiskery cheeks! So sweet!
You can tell Moe’s a patriot – he’s saluting!
I want to say these cats are from Nappaw Valley, but I won’t. Even I have my limits, though they’re not very obvious, are they?
My Dante covers his eyes when he sleeps. I wonder if I could find a little kitty-sized sleep mask for him?
Pawsitively Prosh.
My favorite thing that my cats do is when they’re sleeping with one paw thrown over their eyes. It’s like “Oh, Lawd, ah just cannot face life anymore, it’s all just too much for me!”
Ha ha, Theresa, yours wasn’t there yet when I was composing mine. Jinx?
Nothing sweeter than a kitteh asleep.
It doesn’t stand for Moron, Trabb’s Boy!!
Does ennyone else see little halos/ haloes of angelic sweetness over these felines’ heads, as though buttah wouldn’t melt in their mouths????????
Ah, the paws that refresh.
Also… Meet Felix, the lap cat, and Flora, the world’s most annoying cat.
@resriechan: All kittehs (and babehs) are little angels when asleep, little devils when awake.

Second, the technique Genevieve is demonstrating is what’s known in our family as “Petzelpaw” (short for “pretzel paw”), because it resembles the two upper arches of a sort pretzel.
My dear departed Steve was a master of Petzelpaw; she had really floppy ankles which gave them a nice curve. And if you manually depetzeled her, she’d immediately repetzel without even blinking.
“Soft” pretzel, that is. My typing abilities start to fade in the presence of tiny tabbies.
Also, I can tell that Moe’s a Sergeant in the Army, because of the stripes on his sleeve.
Sadly, in my Eddy’s case, the M does indeed stand for Moron. Sometimes I love him more because he’s so dumb.
Is Moe singing, “We’re coming to America….TODAY!” ???
with my little furry buddy, “M” stands for Maniac.
Jeeze, you’d think a 15 year-old cat would slow down a little.
@Skippymom: LAWL!!! I read that in a Scarlet O’Hara accent and just about died. Kitteh no can will be hungries again!
And I thought the forehead “M” was for Meow.
@Lizzy: tanks very moische.
you mean — aristoCAT, no?
@T.U.M. – Petzelpaw is a great description of that paw-tuck (paw-tuck sounds dangerously like FTW, doesn’t it?). My past kitties (hi Angel! hi Alex!!) were seasoned practitioners of the move, but the big surprise for me has been my pup Sam. He regularly does the petzelpaw when he lounges on the couch.
The M stands for Kitties Thoughts that we are all Morons Like L is for Loser!
260Oakley Snerk… How do you come up with these one after the ohter!
My kitty likes to “hold hands” while she is sleeping. She lays on my lap or beside me at night and puts her paw in the palm of my hand. She’ll rub her nose on my nahd until I open it up for her. I have heard that most cats do not like to be touched for long periods of time, but she is just the opposite. If she is not holding my hand, then she likes me to keep a hand on her while she sleeps. It may be weird, but I love it. And it makes me feel loved.
Sorry, meant to write “She’ll rub her nose on my HAND until I open it…”
Thank goodness it’s Friday!!!
I read someplace a little story about the M which seems appropriate in view of the recent festivities. When Jesus was born, it was very cold in the manger; Mary covered him, but still the baby shivered. A tabby cat hopped in the crib and wrapped herself around the baby, warming him. A grateful Mary kissed the cat’s head, and that’s why all tabbies bear an M on their brow, to show the special place they hold in Mary’s heart…
Whatever the myths, those two sleeping kittehs are to precious for words…
Moe looks like he’s dreaming of being on the crow’s nest scanning the horizon. Also, there is probably nothing cuter than sleeping kitteh.
Gweneviere is all, “touch the pearls!”
Also: Gweneviere looks like she is oh so delicately breathing out a teensy, weensy, ladylike snore.
OMG! ITTY BITTY KITTY BABIES!
[sploded]
How great a name is Gweneviere?!?
*carefully wipes the sploded bits and pieces of Blondie off of the floor and walls and assembles her back together again*
*tucks her in with a teddy bear, a kitten, a bowl of soup and the remote*
Steve was a gray tabby with white paws, so her “M” was for “Mittens.”
Well, my SamKitty is totally black so he has no M on his forehead. However, if he did, I’m pretty sure he would tell me that it stands for, “Mind Me.”
Snazzy eye make-up on Moe and Gweneviere appears to have a Mink collar on her coat.
cute kitty!
this is random, but one of my dearest friends has the quirky new years resolution of trying to meet richard branson for a beer sometime this year ……………. a la http://beerwithbranson.com/
i honestly didn’t even know who he was until bugsy launched his little mission, but then branson popped up again on cuteoverload of all places, so i figured i may as well fill you in on this little quest to meet the great r. branson just in case Gweneviere Pouncington has any connections
do you know branson? know someone who might? use social media to help connect these two and be part of a social media experiment.
ps ……….. i’m glad cuteoverload.com exists. the web could use a healthy dollop of cute.
Cute Kitty!
Heh…Moe is my kitteh.
I’m glad I got a picture into cuteoverload!
i like your post, TUM, : pretzel, depretzel, repretzel, now we can all conjugate the verb pretzel! Until now, I didn’t know pretzel was a verb!
Isn’t it wonderful, learning so much with C.O.? I know just how you feel, Lerrinus!
Congratulations, GraingerGuy!
My boyfriend and I found Gweneviere in my back yard. Abandoned, and sickly. We nursed her back to life and she has been the most amazing kitten. So glad her picture was posted.
AWW
I would just LOVE to gently cuddle and snorgle Moe and Gweneviere as they sleep in my lap
Alexandra and boyfriend: Hooray for you special and loving people! We need more like you!
Is it just me, or is Gweneviere a dead ringer for Cate Blanchett?
