@Ray – “oh how CUTE! I especially love the little footies going so fast you can’t see them. Then ZIP! round and round the wee one goes because he stopped running.”

There is a SPEEDOMETER above them! Oh, oh, oh……

  18. MamaLana says:

(I always wonder why they do that!) Merry Christmas everyone!

  19. PJ says:

I’ve never laughed so hard! Not ever!

  20. Nehama V. says:

Is the top number on the speedometer the speed?

  21. Katrina says:

Good question- why do they do that? It is just wonderful, though. I just love the way they ‘shake it off’ and go right back and do it again. You won’t catch a Corgi doin’ that, no sireee- oh, wait, yeah, they DO they do the same tail-spinning thing.

Yes, it is a speedometer- look at it change, it is a tad delayed, but 68 miles per hour-even in scale? WOW!

  22. Ray says:

    @Claudia C
I’m glad you’re day is a bit brighter.

I know ALL about the laughing until you start a coughing fit. Years back, I went to the South Pole Amundson Scott station as part of the crew. A couple of days after I arrived on station, my breathing was a little wheezy so I went to the station doctor. She diagnosed me with some sort of pneumonia, and ordered me to avoid other people on the station for a few days so I didn’t spread it. I started reading the huge collection of station comic books, and was laughing until I started coughing. I mentioned this the doctor, and she said the laughing was a good thing to break up the congestion. She was going to prescribe “comic book” therapy to her pneumonia patients in the future.

    Get well soon!

  23. Tricia says:

Oh dear, I really wasn’t expecting the sudden blur of speedy hamster late in the clip, thanks for not spoiling it in the description! That was hilarious….my first genuine stomach hugging laugh in a long time, thank you!

  24. Queen of Dork says:

Hahahahahahahahaha! Silly hammies! That was truly fabulous! He looked like a rodential blur in the last part. Hahahahahahahahaha!

  25. Monterri says:

    They’re too much! LOL!

Don’t you all wish you had that much fun doing such a simple thing ? Oh, to be a Hamster on a Wheel!

When the hammy was spinning ’round and ’round and ’round, I was almost ded!

  26. niamh4ec says:

my hampsters used to do the same thing….
the strange thing is no matter how many times they fall out they get back on! lilttle nutters!

  27. violetgreen says:

    One ham smoothie, coming up!

  28. Monterri says:

Hamsters in space…hmm….I must try that sometime.

Hamstervania seems like a nice country. I’d like to move there. I might even have my own wheel! (Oops, I gave something away…)

  29. Rowan says:

I the part where the one behind is trying to run too and keeps getting his pals buns smooshed into this face…too friggin’ funny…gotta go watch it again!

  30. MoonCatty says:

All the while those cute lil’ high octane hammies were a spinnin’ the wheel to a blur, I kept thinking, “If only we could harness a few thousand of these hammy wheels… we’d have an awesome new alternative energy source!”

  31. ButtaRumCake says:

Yeah, I, too, laughed VERY loudly at this. HILARIOUS!

    Thanks for the giggle, NOMTOM!!

  32. Wend says:

Just FYI, to those who are interested, hamsters run on the wheel because in the wild, the little critters will run up to 5 miles in a night. Yikes!! I read that in a book we bought when our kids started keeping hamsters as pets.

  33. happycat says:

oh ystomach hurts from laughing and crying and laughing out loud…too loud…my man came over to see what was so funny ahd HE laughed out load 9never does that)…too too funny…THANK YOU!

  34. maijasservant says:

OMG!!! LOL!!! LMAO!!! Is that RPM, MPH, or KPH???

  35. ath1e says:

ummmm…. tummy hurts…. laughing…. so funny you couldn’t make it up!

  36. Shadyman says:

    I LOL’d.

  37. Tacti says:

I’m a little concerned about what happened to the other ham. But it was funny to see them both scrambling to get on. XD Go hammies, go!

  38. Michael says:

According to the youtube notes, the speed is in hundreds of meters per hour, so divide by ten and you get their maximum speed of 6.8 kilometers per hour or 4.2 miles per hour, which would be about a 14.3 minute mile. Wow, that’s actually pretty fast. Google maps assumes humans only walking 20 minute miles in their walking directions. Of course, those hamsters seem to have a hard time keeping up that pace for more than, oh, a few seconds. ;)
    I mean… d’awwwwwww!

  39. Vicky says:

I’m worried because the hamster looked hurt at the end. The wheel looks too fast to be safe.

  40. LisaL says:

ROFL… I thought one of the hammies was going to go flying or something! This is so much better.
    Too funny.

  41. Kendra says:

OMG, that was freaking hysterical, especially the last fling…..My cat is looking at me oddly because I was laughing so loud. OMG….oh, I have tears in my eyes, that was so damn funny!!!

  42. sharon says:

OMG! I needed that! I laughed out loud after the 2nd one went!!! :::)))

  43. Lerrinus says:

    Silly hamster!
    *sings*
You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record baby…!

  44. Kschueler says:

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has asked to watch this about 15 times on my iPhone this morning! So far it might be her fav chritmas present :)

  45. kellie says:

  49. ceiling cat says:

hahahaha i laughed SO loud my whole family was like what the hell are you laughing at? =,D

have a great christmas every one ^_^ <3

  50. Tails says:

Aw shame I hope that hammie isnt hurt!! As funny as it was, I’d remove all hard objects out the cage and make it safe (ie padded) if they’re going to fly out like that :(

    Poor little thing :(

  51. MoonCatty says:

The shavings did appear to have vanished in the spot where the hammies get dumped from the wheel… which means kind of a hard landing. Maybe a nice little cushy mattress next to the wheel to soften the falls.

Not nuffing here, really… cuz the vid is funny! But that wheel is spinning really fast and after that last spill, little hammy went *thud* hard and looked a bit stunned. Maybe he/she was puzzled as to why mom was laughing cuz that hard landing hurt?

[A "hard landing" doesn't mean much when you weigh like all of an ounce - Ed.]

  52. Sinick says:

    TWELVE x 360s. That’s a LOT of degrees! :D

  53. cafegrrl says:

    lmao

  54. Alice Shortcake says:

Queen of Dork: “rodential blur”. One of my New Year’s resolutions will be to use those words in conversation as often as possible.

  55. Kris says:

I ROARED outloud! And I never do that!!

I laughed so hard, my husband came over and I played it for him! Hilarious!

Dang, now I’m coughing and wheezing again!!!

  56. resriechan says:

Lerrinus: NICE song/earworm choice, there!!! VERY VERY nice indeedy.

@Alice Shortcake : Yup, “our” QoD is a potential writer with gifts both in composing AND in choosing good storylines also. I keep telling her to get to a book publisher & become an editor…and I’m a professional librarian, MLS & all…

@ Editors: How cool is it, that the “Top Posts” positions at the head of the page…….
allows you to put the hammie pic there….IN MOTION, now?????????

[That's an animated .GIF, only three frames, captured from the video - Ed.]

    WHEE!

  66. Singer says:

OMG!!! My hamster, Milli-Micro, does that all the time!!! She seems to think its fun! Then my other hamster, Twinkles, used to comacozy off the edge of the coffee table and flop on the floor! Then we put her back on, and she would run around and do it again! She pasted away last year though:(
Then my other hamsters (I’ve had Izzy, Snickers, Furburt, Nibbles, Twinkles, and Milli-Micro) would climb all over each other to get to the wheel!!!!

  67. Singer says:

He was going 46mph when he fell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. Chatterwocky says:

    Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D

  69. Claudia C. says:

    Head ‘em up
    Move ‘em out
    Move ‘em out
    Head ‘em up
    RAAAWHAAAMMMMM! YEAH!

  70. opalsky says:

These hamsters should be self-propelling a wheel, which they enjoy! This
motorized wheel is deceptive and dangerous and the woman who is allowing
this can’t see beyond her need to be entertained. Give them to someone who
laughs at their natural hamster ways. Someone who has a life and lets those
    creatures have theirs!

    [Wrong. - Ed.]

  71. Theo says:

It isn’t a motorized wheel. It just has a bicycle speedometer.

  72. aroN says:

    OMG

I am totally emailing this to all my friends!

So cute. I used to have a ham.! I miss him so much! Do you have a silent wheel
because I had one just like it.

    such cute ham’s

  74. DeeJay says:

The dizzy hammie at the end is just waitin’ for the cage to stop spinning, so he can have another go! LOL!

  75. PinkishGoldfish says:

    AWWW!!!! Adorable xx

  76. Dara says:

“If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour… you’re gonna see some serious s***!”

  77. Fran in L.A. says:

It’s almost 8:00 p.m. here in L.A., the second day of the new Year. Why do I mention that? So you will understand how deeply I am addicted to this video. Fleet, teeny, feets and then the spin cycle prior to launch…

I can’t stay away, I have to see this at least three times a day! So sad. My meds do not cover spinning hammies!

  78. Frank says:

If you attach a dynamo to the wheel, you can power a whole city with Mr Hammie!

  79. Acey says:

    Fran in L.A.–

You are not alone! I keep coming back! Should we start a support group?

  80. Queen of Dork says:

Acey: *raises hand and then stands up* Hi. My name is Stef. I’m a cuteaholic.

  81. Paunchie says:

Going more like 64 when he spun out!

  82. fghjfxgtj says:
