    Oh! STINKIN’cute!!!

But they’re soulless begging machines. A grey roo in the Grampians will rip your veggie pie away from you as soon as look at you. A greasy veggie pie, too.

  2. bb says:

I totally didn’t see the baby down there. He gets free food all the time, no pity..

    (okay, a little pity)

  3. Jennie says:

Mom looks so unbelievably delighted that she’s being fed!

  4. victoreia says:

Little joey’s got that “bratty whiny little kid” expression down pat!

  15. Sarah says:

    That wallamama is so HAPPY!
You work hard all day taking care of a little kid, and it’s just overwhelming when somebody does something nice just for you.

  16. Amber says:

    My brain just ‘asploded.

Wallaby damned! (arg someone had to say it…) The face on the momma is so precious. And the baby’s eyelashes are so long! Happy pics.

  20. the bug man says:

Confession time: the world is chock-full of animal pictures so cute they’re unfair. They’re everywhere. I could go to Google Image and be drowning in puppies and kittens and, yes, even baby wallabies. So why do I come to C.O. instead?

    Answer: the captions.

In other words– Good one, Meg.

  21. Gigi says:

    @ Nikky gown !!! :-)

  22. Gigi says:

Oups gown??? see what happens when your brain explode from the cute and the pun…

  23. modelmotion says:

    :) :):)

  24. Subhangi says:

    LMAO!

  25. JohnnieCanuck says:

With those toenails, I can see why Mama insists that Joey keeps both the front and the back feet out of the pouch. Boing. OUCH. Boing. OUCH.

  26. dr.lowem says:

Ooooooh mama wallaby is too cute!!!

  27. Wordgirl says:

@ Nikki: I was thinking more of “Well, wallabe darned!” How cute can a smiling wallabe be anyway?

  28. kar says:

Somebody needs to give Mom a full spa day. Complete with built adonis, vikings, etc, feeding her pellets and peeled grapes while she’s reclining in her mud bath after her shiatsu massage. (baby in licensed daycare of course)

  29. resriechan says:

    Smilin’ Jack (ok, Jill)??

    umm….perhaps a “Pocket Pets” Tag?

(I know, a baby of the same family isn’t the same as a little pet in a shirt pocket, but ya know …..????) See where I’m goin’, here?

  30. DaytimeDeb says:

Is there a second wallababy in the pouch? Or does wallababy have 3 ears?

Wallamama is so cute, and seems so happy to get a few treats!

  31. Oh, so beautiful! I’m an Aussie, and I love roos and wallabies.

  32. Blondie says:

Oh thank you! Thank you so much. Thank you…

    BEEP BEEP!!!

  33. Von Zeppelin says:

Didn’t know the Purina people made Wallaby Chow.

  34. Rachael says:

Oh. My. God!!! I feel myself slipping into a diabetic coma from all the qte. If there’s a happier, more adorable face on the planet than that momma’s, I’ve yet to see it. *thud*

  35. Bookmonstercats says:

Oh my goodness gracious me. I have only seen wallabies lounging around in zoos and have never seen one smiling before…. and the joey… thud.

  36. ariel says:

    so…..HAPPY!

  37. Bob Dykeman says:

    Watch out, Disney!

  38. AJM1125 says:

That is a seriously cute pair of wallabys. Seriously. Cute.

  39. Alex says:

Daytime Deb: I thought that too, but on close examinayshe, I think it’s his tailio.

Because of the way this post showed up on my screen, I got a nice scrolldown surprise. First I saw Ms. Wallaby’s face, and I was like, “What on Earth kind of animal is *that*? Mouth like a guinea pig, big ears, long tail–I don’t know!” Then I scrolled down, and the marsupial surprise was revealed. I enjoyed.

  40. Saffron says:

    @res…heeee “pocket pets” :D :D

    Cute little baybay.

  41. January says:

    Another great creature!

  42. Holly says:

Love the smiley face in the 2nd photo, and the baby wanting in on the action, looks like there’s another in the pouch with him, so this one must be the pouch rep, looks very serious compared to mom.

  43. Gledwood says:

O wow, that is a cute little swine!

  44. Australian animals are so dorabuhl; and they are only found in that part of the world; how did that come about? O, I know: something about evolution, I guess; but this is a serious ‘need to know’ basis…..the xtra Qte and xtra Different, combined in such a winning combination…….. the Q&D factor….

  45. Carla says:

omg, such a pretty mommy!!! omg omg omg omg omg *dead*

  46. Rapwnzel says:

The captions made me chortle. I feel like they made the pictures even better.

  47. Rapwnzel says:

Did anyone else read “vintage pellet” like it rhymes with ballet? Or was that intended?

  48. dewicasgwent says:

Clearly this is the first human to appriciate how cute the Mom is and telling her ‘how quick she got her figure back’ and ‘of course baby is cute having you as a mom it had to be a cute baby’

  49. MissKitty says:

    *golf clap*

Well, you’ve done it again, CO. Once again you have outdone yourself with cuteness. I believe the secret ingredient was teh cute inside teh pouchies of another cute.

  50. barbed says:

    Want one!

  51. Kristabelle says:

    LOVE! This is so adorable!

  52. TheGreatKatzini says:

walla, wallababy walla walla walla bing dong!
I mean, seriously Wallas were pretty much the first in line when the funny names were handed out.

  53. Rachael says:

I was so overcome by the blissful look on mummy’s face that I failed to notice the extreme floofiness of her entire frontage. *thud*

  54. Jim N says:

That level of cuteness is unpossible. It just ain’t natural.

  55. J. says:

That post made me very hoppy. Thank you. Am off to grab a cup of joey.

  56. Berg says:

Wallabies rock! These photos made my day, although I must admit that I am a bit sad to not have a wallaby here in the office with me…

  57. Illise says:

The second pic made me smile gthe wallaby look so happy and the baby is so freaking cute

  58. Paunchie says:

    For meeeeee? (rising pitch)

I think dere’s two bebes in dere.

  59. SparklePaw says:

I FINALLY get to see a laughing wallaby!!!

  60. Leilani says:

I do believe I saw that mommy wallaby in a Disney movie…

  61. Katrina says:

Yup, that is very, very redonkulously cute. Great job, CO!

  62. Brenda says:

    Will flirt for food…

  63. Me says:

It is nice to see some one appreciate food. Flirting does work.

  64. Argyle Donkeypants says:

Pouchbound minimarsupial is not happy with the fact that Mom wants to hit the hop-thru on her way to dropping the diminutive macropod off at the mall. (Although with those claws, it’ll be more like a maul.)

  65. luscher says:

    squirrels with pouches …

  66. 5^^now8ing says:

Wouldn’t it be just the coolest, awesome-est thing to live in colorful Oz & get to see wild walls & roos grazing at dusk, just like we see wild deer grazing here in black-n-white Kansas? I had the GREAT fortune of visiting Australia for 3 weeks in 2000 and fell absitively head-over-heels in love with the entire continent, all its animules, and all its wonderful peeps!

  67. Mary (the first) says:

I think, although I’m no expert, the extra “earsies” that seem to be in photo # 3 which would indicate another joey, are actually joey #1′s feetsies. He seems to be folded up onto himself with his nose next to his ankles. (Oh, to be that limber.)
Oh and by the way, SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEE to both wallamama.and wallababeh.

  68. Queen of Dork says:

Oh wow. Oh gosh. The little sliver of white toof in the laughing second picture. I’m getting dizzy….

  69. Yukirei says:

I was in Australia in 2002 and was lucky enough to hold a baby wallaby that was swaddled in a hemp sack, in my arms. It was one of the most snorglicious furbebbehs. Ever. It smelled good too, kind of a woodsy minty smell.

    Absolutely an adorable little bugger.

  70. Resriechan says:

    (gulp) OMG

(I did a funnee that made the **Poetess Laureate of CO** giggle????)

    (gulp #2)

    (in a pseudo-Elvis Impersonator Voice)
    thanyeverrmuch

  71. berthaservant says:

That first photo is SO AWESOME w/ the behbehwalla hidin’ and the mamawalla’s expression!

  72. theotherMolly says:

I think C.O. needs a new Rule of Cuteness: if you have built in pockets for your baby. . .it’s cute.

  73. JME says:

There’s a MILS (mother I’d like to snorgle). Between this euphoric flyer and the sad wallaby from the animated gif, wallabies sure seem to get emotional about food.

  74. almostphony says:

This is one of those rare cases when the adult is even cuter than the baby! OMG
