Resriechan, this is one of the skills you learn by driving a Volkswagen Bug for years. The double-s thing that looks like the offspring of an “f” and a capital “B” is called an Eszett. You can only type it in WordPress if you are wearing a pointed World War I German helmet while a Prussian military band is playing “Heil dir im Siegerkranz” in the background.

I grew up in Rancho Cordova, CA and lived down the street from a guy who had a couple of Metropolitains; yellow/white, seafoam/white, and some old beater that I suppose was his next project. I used to stare at them from the back seat every time we’d drive by. Nifty.

I always thought Nash Metropolitans were a cute car, and even if you don’t think cars (or mayo or kids) should be on this site, the custom license plate on this car qualifies this as an appropriate post. You all beat me with the car info (Grace Kelly Lois Lane, etc). So now I have to tell you the real cutest car of all is the classic (1960′s) Mini Cooper!

Thanks, Wordgirl–a lovely performance. Marlene performed it first in the German version of “The Blue Angel,” where it was called “Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt.”

Believe me, it was better in German than it sounds from the title.
