2)While I will admit to the possibility that you were young & possibly naive, I must *strenuously* defer with you that there is NO POSSIBLE way that I can believe you to ever have even tickled the edges of idiocy.
So there. (See? I’M very mature, myself, don’tcha think!!!???)

Peace & philosophy (& whatever kinda hair ya want) to ALL

As to my not-so-short-lived faux-Afro (hair grows at its own pace, does it not?), as a curl-challenged human of the female persuassion I spent an inordinate amount of time (and money) trying to achieve the bouncy, gleaming tresses Madison Avenue assured me awaited in every shampoo bottle (I was young. And naive. And an idiot, as only naive young women trying to conform with somene else’s idea of beauty can be) . Alas, it was not to be, and I succumbed to the temptation to chemically alter my limp, lifeless locks. The result was an impressive mass of very tightly wound curls. A faux-Afro. I wore it with pride while it lasted, but my hair was left dry and brittle by the chemicals, so I just let it grow out.

It was an epiphany of sorts, though. I realized hair is just… hair. That who I am is much more than what I look like. And that beauty and happiness cannot be bottled or sold.

So there you have it.
