“Nighttime! Daytime!” Dr. Lipschwitz has his work cut out for him.

by Prongs on October 6, 2009

This one speaks for itself. Hilariously.

Thanks, Eleanor C.

AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
GHJES!

2 Rooanne 10.06.09 at 3:27 pm

hey ariel I was going to say that: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
My favorite part when the turtles crashed into each other!

3 Hannah Belle Lectre 10.06.09 at 3:38 pm

Is there anything funnier than monkeys with British accents?
No, no I would say not.

4 mrowbecca 10.06.09 at 3:51 pm

HAhahahahHA snort haha.
This made my week.
I’ve had to show so many nature videos to my classes, and these were MY BRAIN

5 Mary (the first). 10.06.09 at 3:59 pm

They are SO SILLY. (The Brits, I mean.) (and animals, too)

6 Karaaaaa 10.06.09 at 4:04 pm

That bird is crazy… Nighttime Daytime is way more fun than X-Box.

7 AmaSoma 10.06.09 at 4:12 pm

Holy guacamole. I haven’t laughed that hard in so long. \m/

8 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 4:20 pm

@ AmaSoma: please speak the word “guacamole” VERY QUIETLY whenever The Great Theo is around …..*YOU DON’T WANNA KNOW WHY*

(cue the ominous music in the background; perhaps the theme from either Jaws or Psycho ….)

[Oh now you're just making stuff up. THPPPPP :P - Ed.]

9 AmaSoma 10.06.09 at 4:23 pm

@Resriechan: Oh… oh dear. I’m new here, I don’t want to die. ;___;

10 Lizzy 10.06.09 at 4:28 pm

Teehee, LOVE this one! Totally was gonna send it in, too, but each time I watched it I giggled so hard I was rendered incapable of sender-innering.

For your additional enjoyment, please see this:

11 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 4:28 pm

(don’t worry dear, just whisper, when you use *THAT WORD* &
you’ll be fine, really) ;)

12 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 4:32 pm

@ Prongs: this picture’s title is making reference to the same Dr. Lipschwitz, over whose lists we were all tongue-twistedly/ tripping, in the post about the “single dog” ; is it not??????

13 Camille 10.06.09 at 4:37 pm

Badger badger badger badger

[Mouchouis, Mouchois! - Ed.]

14 Gigi 10.06.09 at 4:45 pm

All that’s missing from this video is a stork going the silly walk and you would have Monty Python’s Flying Animal Circus.

15 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 4:53 pm

Badgers shaking their boootaaayyys!

16 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 4:54 pm

yeah; I gotta agree with the Badgers vote….however the Turtle Traffic Jam is right nice & then closing out with the ever-so-patient Mum
who’s “workin’ nights” WHAP!!!

17 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 4:56 pm

ps: plus the use of the word “wolverine” which is ALWAYS helpful to any comedy routine ….

18 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 4:58 pm

Resriechan: I know you said “you don’t wanna know why,” but that makes me wanna know why. :)

[Me too. - Ed.]

19 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 5:14 pm

Why of COURSE it does, QofD !!! (the whole reverse pyschology thing)

Pretty much was just jivin’ w/ her …but…while I have absoLUTEly NO memory of which photo/which comment stream it would have been in…..(but prob it was on a Friday night post) somehow a commenter or Theo announced an unexpected CO party at the house of one of the commenters; Definitely remember the reference to particulars about the guacamole (although perhaps he abbrev’d & referred to it as “guac”); then it all became a grab-bag of commenters stating which hors-d’oevres each would bring, then it all deteriorated into just full-on silliness & wittiness from there….You know how witty Theo is w/ just a word or webaddress or two ….

20 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 5:16 pm

Ooohhhh. Of course, I can just picture the sillifest!

21 Theo 10.06.09 at 5:17 pm

Those BBC chappies seem to be doing our work for us.

22 nismo 10.06.09 at 5:20 pm

LOL. Gotta love British humor.

23 Theo 10.06.09 at 5:28 pm

Well I do like a good guac with my nachos… wait, what was this post about, again? :?

24 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 5:32 pm

Theo: I don’t know. It’s kind of like watching an episode of The Simpsons.

[Have you seen any Family Guy? It's like the Simpsons on meth. - Ed.]

25 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 5:32 pm

PS @ Queen of Dork: Thank you for getting the precise precision correct on my “nomenclature”. I know that it’s a weird-lookin’ word & you get Bonus Extra Credit Points as the most accurate return-addresser!!!

26 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 5:33 pm

Awwwwww! Thanks Resriechan. But once you explained what the name means it’s a cinch to spell!

27 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 5:35 pm

@ Theo (with all the affection in the UNIVERSE but also a wounded *sigh*):
I started my description off, by stating that I canNOT reMEMber which post it was or its picture?? I can hazard a guess, that perhaps it was about a month or two ago? truly, don’t even recall the type of animal or word jokes that were specifically made.

28 krranky 10.06.09 at 5:36 pm

Aw, this makes me miss Creature Comforts.

29 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 5:36 pm

(@ Theo: of course, if I did remember, I’d be only thrilled to provide the specifics…but there just, ain’t any there, there — in the memory, i mean !!!

Signed,
smooches & hugs & peace & pudding (wait, maybe pudding’s a BAD thing?)

30 Prongs 10.06.09 at 5:38 pm

@Resriechan — Correct, Dr. Lipschwitz is one and the same. He won’t take on Maru though. Too much work.

31 Theo 10.06.09 at 5:41 pm

[waits for the inevitable Alan Alda namecheck]

…oh dammit, I just did it myself, didn’t I? *sigh*

32 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 5:44 pm

Theo: Family guy is like the Simpsons on Meth + Ecstasy or something. Some of the episodes need an R rating almost. :)

33 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 6:06 pm

Ummmmm…(gentle reminder to mom and dad) it’s ‘tocktober. Where are the magnificent bunny ‘tocks? The kitteh and puppeh splayage ‘tocks? The giraffe and horse and bee and ladybug ‘tocks? (Butt naked, hairy, crackful human ‘tocks can be left out, me thinks).

34 Not That Mike The Other Mike 10.06.09 at 6:10 pm

I love these clips. This is pretty much what we do on CO — put funny words in the mouths of animals — but the addition of the great voice performances takes it to a higher level.

35 bellaitaliana 10.06.09 at 6:22 pm

…nighttime….DAYTIME!!!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

36 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 6:25 pm

NTMTOM: That IS what you do on CO! And you do it great and we love you for it!

37 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 6:28 pm

@ Q of D: if you didn’t already see it, scroll back a few pages (see the little boxes at bottom of this page) to October 1; there’s a range of tocks tocks & more tocks there, from The Amazing Meg, Herself & lotsa lotsa… Enjoy !!!

38 Ruth 10.06.09 at 6:41 pm

Makes me proud to be a Brit, Rule Brittania !!!!!!!!

39 Bumblebee 10.06.09 at 6:47 pm

Ha I luv the 2 monkeys with British accents
but it was kinda sad to see that one turtle being tipped over
(don’t worry, this is NOT a commentroversery!)
I love CO,NTMTOM,MEG AND PRONGS!!!

[ :| ... - Ed.]

40 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 6:48 pm

Resriechan: I think I saw that. It’s got the Bonnie R. song, correct? It’s great! (Please excuse my fuzzy animal ‘tock greed).

41 Bumblebee 10.06.09 at 6:49 pm

and Theo too 8)

[ ... :D - Ed.]

42 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 6:51 pm

Bumblebee: Don’t forget Theo!! :) (I thought all heck would break loose with the purple eyeglass wearing guy, Whoopie Goldberg thing but that happily doesn’t seem to have happened

43 Theo 10.06.09 at 6:53 pm

I think I found the purple shades, btw.

44 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 7:03 pm

Theo: THAT’S IT!!!! (picturing Charlie Brown rolling head over heels on the ground after Lucy yells at him).

45 Resriechan 10.06.09 at 7:17 pm

@ Queen of Dork: yup, that ’s the one
@ Theo: Two notes:

1: (Actually a rhetorical qwershtun, heah): what were the odds, that the simplest place to locate a pic of Whoopi’s purple specs would come up under a webpage that references knitting or did I get that sideways?
and 2: did you already go through the comments that happened under the “Help me Out” picture of the literal whack-job/ grooming of the white cat w/ the amazing blue eyes? The point is, Snowpea’s entries, incl. photos & story of her **rescue** (only 7 yrs cohabitation) with Quincy & Spencer; he or they both were luxuriant long-hair marmies, which I am *given to understand* you might possibly appreciate, justabit (if you haven’t already dribbled saliva all over their pics) ;)

Signed,
Your Obedient Servant.

46 DaytimeDeb 10.06.09 at 7:19 pm

OK, the full moon was a couple of nights ago, right? ‘Cause I’m reading these last few threads and they are just silly…yes sillier than usual.

Nighttime…..Daytime! Love it!

47 Queen of Dork 10.06.09 at 7:27 pm

54 Arcene 10.06.09 at 9:27 pm

55 Hon Glad 10.06.09 at 9:40 pm

Let me join the chorus, proud to be British. Well half English half Scots.

56 Liz 10.06.09 at 10:52 pm

bloody brilliant *lol*
(and i wonder if it’s David Bowies voice that i am hearing in the monkeys part….)

57 Noelegy 10.06.09 at 11:08 pm

Did anyone else imagine the giant tortoise saying, “Not that it matters, but yeeeeeesssssssss…”??

58 a 10.06.09 at 11:38 pm

Silliest of animal behaviors + typical British over-politeness = (singsong) ahh-sum.

59 Theresa 10.07.09 at 12:12 am

Nice to see that Northern accents are still considered funny.

60 Barbarella 10.07.09 at 3:02 am

70 claudia 10.07.09 at 6:05 am

The ending elicits the biggest guffaw outta this evening working momma :P

71 SoCalSis 10.07.09 at 6:21 am

Brings back memories of my own dear dentist Dr. Chan, who WOULD ask us questions when we had our moufs full of pointy things… she was much nicer than this dentist though. Never commented about our (probably VERY rank) breath.

72 Ant 10.07.09 at 6:44 am

This BBC series is rad. I have seen all six episodes in season/series 1.

73 Katrina 10.07.09 at 7:12 am

This goes to UCONN! Maaaarvy!

74 Kelsey 10.07.09 at 7:22 am

The funniest thing I’ve seen online in ages! Clever, clever Brits. :) (My mother is from England- she’s going to get a kick out of this when I show it to her.)

75 Paunchie 10.07.09 at 9:19 am

Oh good lord. I forgot to take my silly pill this morning. (huge eye roll)

76 Resriechan 10.07.09 at 9:46 am

77 CeeBee 10.07.09 at 9:54 am

I LOVED this series, so simple but so funny!

78 jessica m 10.07.09 at 10:02 am

Oh boy. I love this show so much. A few months ago I found the clip of the groundhog yelling for Alan. ALAN ALAN ALAN ALAN! My sister married a guy from Scotland named alan, and it was just perfect, with the accent…I sent it to her and we laughed for days.

I hope we can get this show on BBC America soon.

79 Chaz 10.07.09 at 10:26 am

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! OMGoodness! That was GREAT! Just what I needed today!! *wipes a tear of laughter from the corner of her eye

80 Sweeda 10.07.09 at 11:08 am

I’m laughing hysterically right now! That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen all week! Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooo much, CO!!!

81 Lux 10.07.09 at 11:42 am

Oh dear, you appear to have tipped me over.
Oh, I’m terribly sorry old chap.

I don’t believe you did.
Oh, cheerio then.

I lol’d.

82 Resriechan 10.07.09 at 11:53 am

ummm….jessicam….ummm…huh? (aka WT***?)

83 Kristabelle 10.07.09 at 1:13 pm

Thus far, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-TxebxUD54 is my favorite. The OWLS! The OWLS!!!! OMG!!!!

84 rafe 10.07.09 at 1:27 pm

nighttime….DAYTIME!
sorry, just can’t get over that one

85 Denise 10.07.09 at 1:46 pm

Super COOL!!!! Loved every minute of it. Please do more like that. GREAT!!!!!

86 Sasha's mum 10.07.09 at 3:00 pm

Well thanks very much! I have a day full of deadlines but imagine how much time I just wasted watching all of those clips.

krranky — I too saw the parallels with Creature Comforts. This show is sort of the reverse though — dialogue written and performed for found video, whereas Creature Comforts was claymation visuals created for found audio. Both brilliant, both quintessentially British. (No way this would be nearly as funny with American accents.)

87 Once A Fish 10.07.09 at 3:20 pm

Noelegy (#57):

….Not that it matters….

but yeeeeessss!

ah…. ahhh… ahhh…..CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

88 Sasha's mum 10.07.09 at 3:46 pm

Oh no! YouTube has whole episodes up! That’s it, I’m not getting any more work done ever again.

89 Sinamon 10.07.09 at 5:47 pm

LOL! “pack it in! (smack) you know i’m workin’ nights!”

90 J.F 10.08.09 at 5:37 am

LOL!

Nightime…..DAYTIME!!

Can’t get it out of my head >.< HHAHAHAHA
Have got it on my phone now, too funny!!!

91 chillipie 10.09.09 at 12:14 pm

OMG. Holy snorgle. This is hysterical. Monkeys with British accents? can’t get better then that, baby. Can’t get better then that.

92 Lizzy 10.10.09 at 12:43 am

Still walking around thinking, “Nightiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime. DAYTIME!” every time I blink.
