I Just Don’t Know Where I Find the Time

by Not That Mike The Other Mike on September 28, 2009

Boy, have I got a busy day planned.

First, I have to put off cleaning out the rain gutters, then I’ve got to avoid painting the spare bedroom.

And somewhere in between not edging the front lawn and forgetting to take out the trash, I’ve got to carve out time to refrain from cleaning the attic…

Exhausting.

2 Blondie 09.28.09 at 5:35 am

Someday we’ll find it, the Rainbow Connection. The lovers, the dreamers, and me…

It’s not easy, being green…

3 Kristen 09.28.09 at 5:37 am

You’re reading my thoughts exactly, little Frog.

4 the hen 09.28.09 at 5:37 am

Bless his/her heart…….

5 Amy 09.28.09 at 5:48 am

Ah, a frog after my own heart!

6 MadameX 09.28.09 at 5:48 am

Shouldn’t have had that last chocolate-covered fly…

Reminds me of my Dad’s L-tryptophan-ic bliss after Thanksgiving dinner…

7 Katiedid 09.28.09 at 5:53 am

You have a busy day Mr. Frog.. Don’t forget to not go to the post office or grocery store….. Makes my day look like a walk in the park…

8 Lizzums 09.28.09 at 5:53 am

Relaxy fwoggie! Makes me feel relaxed, too. Thanks.

9 dawgpup 09.28.09 at 5:54 am

don’t forgot to make up an excuse for why you cant go to work tomorrow :]

10 Leslie (NTA) 09.28.09 at 6:00 am

Now THAT’s what I call CUTE !!!!

(even tho’ I’m generally not much of an Amphibian Phan….Ya just can’t deny this guy…)

11 pyrit 09.28.09 at 6:03 am

Labor pains?

hee.

12 Gigi 09.28.09 at 6:11 am

I didn’t know La-Z-Boy made lily pads :-)

13 Mamamclain 09.28.09 at 6:12 am

If everyone took a moment, to lay on a lilly-pad and stare at the sky, watch the clouds and just be, the world would be a better place. Although, I doubt we’d stay dry long, lilly-pads are notorious for dunking riders.

14 Leslie (NTA) 09.28.09 at 6:12 am

@ Gigi — Niiiiiiice!!!!!

15 Catalina 09.28.09 at 6:26 am

:) The fingers :)

16 Holly 09.28.09 at 6:32 am

I’m with ya Mr. Frog. That’s exactly why I don’t find yoga relaxing!! Namaste to all.

17 Momcat 09.28.09 at 6:33 am

So cute! It reminds me of my first piano-recital piece, “Lazy Frog.” I can’t imagine the luck of catching this photo! If there’s any nuffing on this one, I’m giving up on mankind and looking for my own lily pad.

18 Caitlin 09.28.09 at 6:34 am

Lol, this sounds just like my day! :D

19 Kar 09.28.09 at 6:39 am

Obviously Mike had a busy weekend. NOT.

20 enobong 09.28.09 at 6:42 am

Haha look who appears so busy. I wish my day was like froggy’s

21 Saffron 09.28.09 at 6:47 am

Eating 12 bags of fly-flavored chips, drinking a sixpack of Rolling Pad and watching 12 hours of football is an awesome way to spend a Sunday!

22 Jenn 09.28.09 at 6:49 am

Gee, I tried to work not commenting into my schedule, but I failed–clearly I have much to learn from Senor Siesta here.

P.S. Blondie, thanks for the Kermit nod.

23 Fluffy 09.28.09 at 6:54 am

@Jenn

“Senor Siesta” — Teehee, giggle

24 hippipp 09.28.09 at 6:54 am

Hmm, those cloud formations are amazing!

25 Laura K. 09.28.09 at 6:57 am

This photo is a saver–I feel sooo relaxed just looking at it!

26 Sher 09.28.09 at 7:02 am

Hey, he stole my weekend!

27 Sporkles 09.28.09 at 7:03 am

While I think the picture is adorable, I wonder why the little guy is on his back. In my experience, froggies don’t like being on their backs. The only time I’ve seen frogs on their backs was when they were dying or dead. It makes me sad to think that this might be a pic of a dead frog.

Of course, I don’t know the situation behind the picture; maybe he’s someone’s pet and they posed him for the picture. Maybe this froggy really does like being on his back. Maybe the whole thing is photoshopped. I don’t know. I just hope the froggy is okay. I love froggies (and toadies). They define the term “cute overload.”

[I'll tell you a "secret": This is CGI from a Belgian advertisement. - Ed.]

28 hf080677 09.28.09 at 7:03 am

@Blondie… LOVE it! :) makes me sooo happy….

29 Theo 09.28.09 at 7:06 am

So is this a frog or a cat? :P

30 Theo 09.28.09 at 7:08 am

…almost ;)

31 DCH 09.28.09 at 7:09 am

Where’s his banjo?

32 Von Zeppelin 09.28.09 at 7:12 am

“Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929) contemplates the final chapters of his great work, ‘The Theory of the Leisure Class.’ He decides he would like to join that class. Even during his lifetime, few people were aware that Professor Veblen was a frog.”

(By the way, Leslie (NTA), when did you morph back from your secret identity as Resriechan? Did I miss this? Or is this yet another Leslie? It would be easier to keep track of people here at CO if everybody used a screen name of of an early twentieth century German airship pioneer.)

33 LisaL 09.28.09 at 7:19 am

It’s not that easy being green….

34 Heather in Oregon 09.28.09 at 7:21 am

Von Zeppelin-lol
Theo- almost ;) hehe

Its too bad its CGI, but still an adorable photo. Very talented artists cramped their fingers working for days to produce a very relaxed looking froggy.

35 Sporkles 09.28.09 at 7:24 am

Thanks for the clarification!

36 kzgz 09.28.09 at 7:31 am

@Theo – he’s an ampheline. (sound like a new drug with lots of fun side effects)

[Not bad, not bad... - Ed.]

What a beautiful frog. I LOVE FROGS. Hey, that was pretty much enthusiasm for a Monday morning. But I think I need to go lie down now.

37 Misplaced Patriot 09.28.09 at 7:49 am

That animal needs some alka-seltzer.

38 Andi from NC 09.28.09 at 8:10 am

apparently it IS easy being green…. can I be green too?

[This is the internet; you can be anything you like - Ed.]

39 Rachael 09.28.09 at 8:13 am

“I can’t believe I ate the whole thing! Plop plop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is.” *belch*

40 kzgz 09.28.09 at 8:30 am

Fried flies, grilled grubs, gnats with natto*, water strider wine….

*shout-out to Japan and Iron Chef fans!

41 cath 09.28.09 at 8:31 am

Awww…. what a sweetie. (Love the ad, too. Much better than our Pepto ads over here).

Maybe if froggie has some time, he can come to my place and help me not do my housework and not write my paper.

42 catloveschanel 09.28.09 at 9:01 am

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why

43 Graceofbass 09.28.09 at 9:19 am

I <3 this picture. I wish I could hang with Kermit and sing Rainbow Connections on this beautiful fall day.

44 Beagler 09.28.09 at 9:40 am

Sporkles,

Why you gotta ruin it for everybody by suggesting the dead frogs? BOOOO. You get the Debbie Downer award for today.

45 Theresa 09.28.09 at 9:41 am

Señor Siesta @ Rancho Relaxo.

46 13xforever 09.28.09 at 9:43 am

Original work: I’m so Cool.

[Almost, not quite; your DA link is to a digital painting based on a photo of the CGI from the Belgian commercial. Still cool, and the execution is original; just not the subject matter. - Ed.]

47 Technobabe 09.28.09 at 9:55 am

It’s not easy being green, huh, every thought and action are under such scrutiny!!

48 Rooanne 09.28.09 at 10:07 am

Awwww it was too good to be true. I had saved the last pic of this froggy. Oh well I will save this one too. A reminder to let the work alone and relax.
P.S. I absolutely LOVE the word “Blorp” . It makes me smile. blorp, blorp

49 Paunchie 09.28.09 at 10:12 am

Love the pic! I wish I was that frog!

I knew there’d be one debbie downer on this cute lily pad-floater!

50 E Z Reader 09.28.09 at 10:40 am

Great froggie, Von Z, LOL as is often the case with your comments. Everyone is so witty, especially NTMTOM, Hon Glad and you! Enjoy my day so much more with cute.

51 Brenda 09.28.09 at 10:48 am

Is this for real? If so, that frog is AWESOME. Love it.

52 Hon Glad 09.28.09 at 11:11 am

I am afraid my list is somewhat longer than the Frogs. There’s the loose ceiling paper that needs re-gluing, which is next to the hole where a pull switch was removed, over by the light switch is a cable that needs to be buried in the wall, after a rewire, all this has been like it for about 16 years. The concrete posts that that hold up the the front garden railings have been crumbling for 5 years and the down pipe from the gutter has been rusting for several years, because I couldn’t reach
the top when painting. But don’t get me wrong the house isn’t a dump, it just needs a few cosmetic touches.

53 AuntieMame 09.28.09 at 11:26 am

Hon Glad, the floor in my bathroom has been concrete with carpet glue (and carpet strips with nails sticking out of it around the edges) for at least three years now. So you aren’t the only one with a house that needs “cosmetic touches.” LOL!

Maybe when fwoggie is through with all of his not-chores, he can come help me not clean the bathroom and avoid doing laundry.

54 Blondie 09.28.09 at 1:18 pm

@pyrit: D’oh! LOL!

@Gigi: My local LZB is out of that model! DEMMIT! Must settle for the oversized bean bag chair… http://www.lovesac.com/

@Jenn: Kermit rocks. :-)

@DCH: My first instinct was to make a ‘paddle faster’ joke, but…. I ain’t. :-)

@Rachael: LOL! That commercial was popular when I was young. The tune will forever be burned into my brain.

55 Trin 09.28.09 at 1:54 pm

Sporkles, I’m pretty sure frog is a posed pet…
He looks pretty healthy, his eyes and skin look WONDERFUL.

I’m sure the photographer has an awesome fast camera, as Senor Siesta here would have righted himself in moments. (Not sure how trainable a frog would be…)

56 Resriechan 09.28.09 at 2:13 pm

@ VZ:

(oops — I typed those comments from a computer on which I hadn’t yet reset the name change, onto the CO comment form. Sorry for using the “old letterhead” & muddying the tea.) Have a good!!

57 platedlizard 09.28.09 at 3:24 pm

Sometime you just have to stop and smell the lily pads.

58 momkidd 09.28.09 at 3:46 pm

Look! That cloud looks like a duck!

59 Noelegy 09.28.09 at 4:01 pm

That’s the kind of day I’m having.

60 wannadance 09.28.09 at 4:30 pm

my life and welcome to it…ahhhhhhh…..

61 wannadance 09.28.09 at 4:34 pm

hon glad, your post made me unreasoningly happy.

62 Cambridge_Rat_Mom 09.28.09 at 6:21 pm

I wish I could ever relax like that….green frog. Thanks for the example. I’m working on it.

63 SusaninMI 09.28.09 at 6:22 pm

Froggie says nothing is better than just chillin’ at your own pad . . .

64 Hon Glad 09.29.09 at 12:22 am

Wannadance- I am Glad I made you happy. I don’t have much excuse, but some things aint important.
