(I attempted to research the book/ release answer, to no avail yet. In my mind it seems I might have read, earlier this summer, that books for BOTH Maru AND Simonscat’s person, were hoping/ scheduled for release sometime Sept/ Oct….however no proof yet; I attempted about 3 different web pages; sorry for no answer)
(with that out of the way, following, is my Highly Intellectualized Response to the Box, the guy, the Maru impression, the haunch splayage, etc. etc:)
“Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” (and so forth).
That is all.
I remember the old days, when I was as deep in my box addiction as Maru-Man is. It didn’t matter where I was or what I was doing – if there was an empty box, I dove right in. Refrigerator box, shoe box, paper box… I was severely addicted. The outpatient program was no good for me. I’d be okay for a day or two… Start out with a kleenex box that I hid in my car, then the paper box I hid under my desk. All the time I heard this little tiny voice – “I think I need a bigger box…”
It took no time at all before I as freaking out people at the Best Buy – box diving into every box they had in the recycle bin.
I was finally admitted into the 28 day inpatient program. They gave me this great drug that helped distract me from boxes. They call it catnip. This stuff is great. I don’t care about boxes any more, I can grow it myself without going to jail, and it works wonders. Any time I see a box, I pull a sock out of my pocket that’s been filled with catnip and inhale. Oh it’s heavenly…
Maru-Man, I have plenty. I’ll be happy to share if you’d like to try it. Really, all the kids are doing it.
BRILLIANT. Also, remember the two people who sang/performed “O Don Piano”…? It’s out there in the youtubes…

Yup, boxes and naps for all employees- fewer mistakes, fewer arguments, much more job satisfaction. A free-range 25 lb. office bunny would help, too, (but you knew that).

Ed, Maru is a Scottish Fold. They don’t all have the folded ears because the gene is recessive. Or something.
