Looks this wee prairie dog has grown up in a predator-free environment. A little too comfy for my taste! The zoo might want to let a puma put a paw to ground for a minute or two to keep this guy on his toes for the visitors!
It seems like he should be yelling “Spock!” in a William Shatner voice.

It looks like this guy was probably just curled up in the hole, snoozing away. And now he’s getting a post nap stretch before going about his day.
“Dude, I was just laying here minding my own business, when all of the sudden this huge crater opened up and tried to swallow me! I tried to yell and reach for something to hold on to… I’m still not sure how I got out of there alive, man!”

OK, I hate to make this observation, but I’ve seen pictures of prairie dogs that have been shot, and this kind of looks like it’s been shot. I really hope not though.
