Leftover Kitten Paw

This is just like every Ikea bookshelf you’ve ever assembled–there’s always one part left over.  In this case, it’s the paw of yesterday’s ad-libbing kitten in the pictures sent by Kelly H.  I couldn’t work it into the narrative, but it’s too cute not to use.

Pink and white are the perfect colors for a kitty.

Beanie toes and pure white fur. Very nommible!

  6. 260Oakley says:

Use it to make a pawt pie.

  7. Theo says:

I think that’s a hind paw. But I will help kitn hoist his Schblatz if need be.

  8. AuntieMame says:

Surely this is a meringue or that divinity stuff that I never could acquire a taste for. (Does Schblatz go with divinity?)

  9. skippymom says:

I’ll bet you anything that paw smells like Bazooka bubblegum. Hang on, I’ll check. (Inserts nose deep into center of paw.) Yep, it’s Bazooka alright, with delicate undertones of litterbox. Delectable.

AuntieMame, years ago when I was young and adventurous, I tried making divinity (I’d totally forgotten this until I read your comment). I recall that the end result was nowhere near worth the trouble. I think that I was inspired to make it by some classic children’s book in which a girl character makes divinity…anybody remember what the book was? Little Women or something along those lines?

  13. Kristabelle says:

    No kitty paws left behind!

  14. Jezebel says:

  19. edward says:

‘Batting at things’ is my favourite kitten behaviour. That paw looks ready to do some batting.

  20. nismo says:

So soft and so fluffy, and those toebeans are to die for.

  21. MamaDawn says:

Divinity has to be made on a very low humidity day, or the results are less than divine (gloppy and sticky). Done well, it’s light, fluffy and heavenly… much like the toeses above.

  22. Lux says:

    BEANS! Nommmmmm.

    Recessed paw pad? o_o

  23. Debi says:

    @Skippymom:

Don’t know what children’s book it was in, but it couldn’t have been Little Women, since divinity didn’t show up until after the turn of century (according to my unverified source):
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divinity_(confectionery)

  24. AuntieMame says:

I’m sure it wasn’t Little Women. That’s one of my favorite books, and I’ve read it several times! I’m not coming up with any other children’s books it might have been in, either. Hmm…

I remember them talking about divinity in the old Peanuts cartoons.

  30. hyura says:

  31. diddleymaz says:

it sounds disgusting, we dont have it here.Thank goodness.
but we do have pink n white kitties…..

  32. Katrina says:

And when this little fluff-ball grows up I bet it will have toe-floof!

  33. Blondie says:

I just want to massage those toes. So soft… fall asleep massaging kitty toe beans…

  34. NT Mel says:

    FLUFFY KITTEH TOEBEANS!!!1!

  35. Teresa says:

GIGGLE :D Who wants to nom on those toebeans :D

  36. When I was in high school (‘way back in the Dark Ages), a certain shy young man in one of my classes turned to his ladylove and asked, “Would you like some divinity canidy?” The resulting giggles and guffaws around the classroom discouraged his ever offering anything to anybody again!

  37. victoreia says:

“No, please…I’m much too tired to take questions…”

  38. Trixie says:

    High four!!

  39. Katey says:

    @Skippymom

Farmer Boy, maybe? I remember they made some kind of candy that didn’t turn out when the parents went out of town and the kids used up the whole barrel of sugar.

  40. Jenn says:

…the only thing cuter than PAW PADS is PAW PAD FUR…you know, the little fluffs between the paw pads…nummy!

  41. Pick me ! Pick me !

  42. Noelegy says:

The whole humidity-being-the-enemy-of-divinity thing makes one wonder how divinity ever came to be associated with the South.

And what a pristine, gossamer kittenpaw! I have stayed home sick for some days now due to an infected jaw as a result of poorly fitted bridgework. I’m halfway afraid when I do return to work I’ll be greeted with my stuff in a box. But seeing this tiny kittenpaw makes it all right. I can imagine it stroking my poor aching cheek with the gentlest of touches.

[Damn, ow, my sympathies. :( Here, I'm brewing white ginger tea with vicodin... - Ed.]

  43. booboo91 says:

“Do we have a deal? Here’s my paw on it!”

  44. snorglepup says:

You put your right paw in. You put your right paw out…

  45. nyota says:

    paw perfection

  46. Lucas says:

That is some excellent interdigital floof. Nicely trimmed, nicely combed. I give it two thumbs up for sure.

  47. thepetmuseum says:

So pink. So white. So beautiful. smoochels.

  48. Earwig says:

I had one of these left over once. I was assembling a Kyttnfluffi Bookenvardrobe from Ikea, and it looked great when finished, but I never knew where the toebeans were meant to fit in…

  49. Shaz says:

If it’s left over and the furniture is standing, can I have it?

  50. brinnann says:

    First off, Earwig…

And somewhat O/T, I love the ad to the right for the FU Penguin book:
“WHEN OVERLOAD IS TOO WEAK A WORD
…FU PENGUIN is finally fighting back against the kittens and puppies that make us cringe with horrified pleasure.”

    *snerk*

  51. Katrina says:

Earwig- I put mine on the bottom as stabilizers. They sliiiiiide across the wooden floor, but they have lots of traction on the rug!

  52. Leslie (NTA) says:

    oooooooooo, Noelegy …

Hope you’re feeling better & that someone is coddling you???

  53. Poor Noelegy, I hope you are feeling better soon Perhaps you need some more cute kitty photo’s

  54. Mek says:

NOMTOM: I think this kitteh is high-fiving its mates after the first round of Schblatz …. on the Mom (ahem, House!) But I agree, I couldn’t squeeze it into the marvy job you did on yesterday’s narrative either!!

  55. Noelegy says:

Vicodin tea! That makes it all kinds of better. Yes, my kittehs have been coddling me, er, taking advantage of my being home and sleeping more than usual. Long story short: I’ve lost two teeth, one on each side of my lower jaw, due to botched root canals. I had bridgework for the left side years ago, but didn’t get the right side fixed because of the cost. I recently had a partial plate fitted for the right side. Not only is it horribly uncomfortable and I can’t wear the stupid thing, but the fitting process (in and out of my mouth what seemed like about 50 times) aggravated the bridgework on the left, resulting in my left lower jaw becoming swollen, very painful, and full of blood and yuk. I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and go back and say “Just give me the bridge” for the other side and eat the expense.

Unfortunately, I have missed a lot of work this year. And my good, cool, understanding boss just up and quit without notice, leaving a newly-promoted, rather incompetent supervisor in her place who’s just all in love with her own new authority. So I may not have a job when I go back. But I wasn’t liking that job all that much anyway, so I doubt I will be devastated much, although unemployment sucks.

  56. Noelegy says:

P.S. I’d like some Schblatz, please. But I don’t think it will mix with the Vicodin, which I am actually taking, left over from the last kidney stone bout.

  57. Leslie (NTA) says:

    FWIW (not much, prob)

I’m enjoying everyone’s input. Meself, I vote for Victorea & Snorglepup’s captions to tie for the win. Not that we NEED a winner. It’s just that those selections seem to have purple rhinestones sparkling on them.

  58. snorglepup says:

    Purple rhinestones! Yeahh!!11!
    ( i think it’s really a left paw)

  59. SusaninMI says:

If Hello Kitty was real, this would be his perfect lil paw . . .
