  1. Laura says:

That is one big baby! Perhaps from a previous litter? Little stinker….

  2. homer mariner says:

I think maybe there’s a little gas in that milk… The kitten seems to have inflated.

  3. skippymom says:

Why is this is tagged as Interspecies Snorgling and Pups? Those are all cats, aren’t they? If that big baby is a puppy, it’s got an awfully cat-like tail!

    [...and rabbit-like fur! - Ed.]

  4. Theresa says:

I think that big kit may have snarfed down two or three of the little ones.

  5. fluffernugget says:

What’s that porker doing there? Little marmie kittie needs lunch too. BTW-Mama cat has such as sweet round face.

  6. lrm says:

Big kitty, the little kitties need the milk more! Please step out of the way!

  7. lrm says:

Yeah, what’s with the “pups” tag?

  8. Von Zeppelin says:

Mama cat: “I didn’t mind it when my brother’s boy Myron moved in with us for a while. I didn’t think he’d still be here two years later! He lies around the house playing XBox all day, loud music all night. When is he even going to start LOOKING for a job, that’s what I want to know! And don’t get me started on how much that kid eats. I having enough trouble feeding my own kids!”

  9. Not That Mike The Other Mike says:

Re the “pups” and “interspecies snorgling” tag: I was under the impression that the large “kitten” is actually a puppy, but I could be wrong.

  10. ♫ One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn’t belong ♫

  11. AuntieMame says:

It’s hard to say because the ears are kinda doggie. Either way, he’s big enough to eat at the grownups table now. :)

  12. Kiragirl says:

    Party Crasher…cute,
    but where is Friday Haiku??
    We miss u, haiku.

  13. Beth (in NC) says:

My initial impression was that it was a bigger kitten. Hmmm… we need a back story, STAT!!!

  14. skippymom says:

It would be funnier if it were a puppy. Maybe it’s a hybrid?

  15. Annapolitan says:

Oh, that big ‘un is a kitten alright. Mama cat looks like a Scottish Fold and so does the larger kitten, so I’m thinking this is a cat breeder who has multiple litters. One kitten from an older litter has crashed the milkbar of the newest litter.

I know some cat breeders and this happens all the time. Kittens are conditioned to approach anything that looks like a mama cat in repose.

  16. T.U.M. says:

Red bebehs PLUS sweet-faced calico Mamma?!? I AM UNDONE! How am I supposed to not sit here all afternoon petting the screen?!?

Also, definitely a cat and not a pup. The tail’s a dead giveaway. I’ve had neurotic cats who nursed well into adulthood, even though they weren’t getting any actual milk out of the deal, and “foster mama” cats who were more than happy to let them.

  17. Kelsey says:

    Momma cat: “Oooh… ouch… must…not… bite them… OW OW…. teef!!”

She looks like she’s going to her “happy place”… and she’s doing a fantastic job of ignoring Gigantor on the right… I don’t know how animules do it. I have ONE nursing toofless human bebeh, and I still sometimes want to ponk him on the noggin for biting and yanking. GAH! I refuse to imagine the whole “tooth” possibility. OW!

  18. hyura says:

that can’t be a pup! that’s gotta be another kitty, but a big one.

  19. pyrit says:

    “Maybe it’s a tumor.”

    (chuckle. sorry. chuckle. sorry.)

  20. Julie says:

    Amen Kelsey!

  21. cath says:

skippymom: I had the same thought. Now that would REALLY merit an “interspecies snorgling” tag!

  22. Bouviegal says:

    LOL @ pyrit.

  23. chanpon says:

    @pyrit – “It’s NOT a tumah….”

  24. Wend says:

Lol @ Pyrit and Chanpon… I had the same thought.

  25. iluvyouguys says:

    “Gigantor” – I’m still laughing :)

  26. DaytimeDeb says:

I know the milk is more plentiful further down the tummy (away from face), but this is redonkulous. Someone has gone back for seconds far too often! LOL

  27. Misty C says:

These kitties are Scottish Folds (hence the folded “pup-like” ears!)

Taters is the orange one who was snubbed a spot in the buffet and Bacon is the kitten eating on the far left near mom’s head. The HUGE kitten is this mother’s nephew (this mother’s sister’s kitten).

  28. Theresa says:

Mama called the doctor, and the doctor said:
“No more gigantic kittens jumping on Mom!”

    (rhyme fail)

  29. Jorden says:

    That is hilarious!
    And so cute.

  30. skippymom says:

This reminds me of one of the stories in James Herriott’s book “Cat Stories” . He was trying to help a small female cat who was in labor and struggling. The Dr. couldn’t figure out why the kittens weren’t starting to come out. Finally he cut her open, to find just one kitten almost as big as its mother. Thank goodness he acted, because there was no way the kitten could have gotten out otherwise and the mother would have died trying. Weird, sad, ultimately happy ending.

  31. marsheeeee says:

@Misty C – So Von Zeppelin was right on, then. Good call, VZ!

  32. LisaL says:

Lol…. poor big kitten wants some Mom juice too!…
Yes.. I just said mom juice….. ew.

  33. mfar says:

Yeesh, this kit-ling rivalry is getting totally out of hand. I can hear the “ehn ehn-ing” of the little baby kitty who lost out to the larger, older sib from here! Clearly a case of somebody who doesn’t want to stop being mommies favorite kitteh. “I won’t grow up!” He/she’s all peter pan in a cat suit!

  34. AuntieMame says:

Taters and Bacon! Are those the most hilarious kitten names ever, or what? :D

(And why am I suddenly hungry?)

  35. T.U.M. says:

    TATERS and BACON?!?

    *faints*

  36. skippymom says:

Are the other two little ones named Eggs and Toast?

[My money's on Green Eggs and Ham. - Ed.]

  37. brinnann says:

    *gasp* I can’t believe
Most of Friday is gone and
    Still no haiku post!

    [There you go, Brinnann
[If you want something done right
[Just do it yourself - Ed.]

  38. T.U.M. says:

    Taters and Bacon
    Didn’t have enough breakfast –
    Their cousin’s a pig.

  39. Lily B says:

    Interloping Cat
    Hoovering the Milk Supply
    Make room 4 Marmie

GET OUT OF THE WAY, YOU GIANT PIG-KITTEH!!!

  40. Juno says:

We almost had this situation at my house when I was a kid. Nermal, from Kit’s first litter, would NOT be weaned until he was nearly as big as his mother. Kit was much too indulgent a mom to insist, and Nermal saw no reason to volunteer. He even ‘nursed’ on our male cat, Barnabas, who also indulged him. Kit gave birth to her second litter with Nermal curled up beside her, purring away.

  41. nismo says:

That little orange morsel on the left…I must pet it.

  42. katiedid says:

LOL @ Daisy the Curly Cat .. hehhee…
I love that big kitten’s tail!!!! such cool coloring!

  43. skippymom says:

    Spam, Egg, Sausage and Spam!

  44. skippymom says:

    And their cousin, Spam!

  45. janet2buns says:

@Kelsey: One toof is not so bad, It’s when they have one toof on top and one below to bite against, that’s when it’s weanin’ time. Yeowwwwch!!

  46. Am absolutely squeeeing at that adorable pudge pot on the end!! What a doll!

  47. Rapwnzel says:

    uninvited guest
    little catdog mystery
    stealing the flavors

  48. a'nay'amous says:

I can’t stand it any more, I have to profess my love. The guy that scours the net and/or inbox for the cutest pics EVAR is something to fantasize about. Mike, I picture you and me surrounding the litter of kits snuggling and snorking the whole time with starry looks in each others eyes… hmmm. sweet… and he smells good too…yum.

  49. kibblenibble says:

Teeny handfuls of squee! (*and* one that might be two handfuls…*and* sweetest mama evar!)

  50. Val says:

Ah, Scottish Folds, my fave breed of all.
There must be multiple litters at that cattery.

  51. Nikki says:

Will you please look at all of those adorable little ears?!?! OMG. *faints*

  52. Mary (the first) says:

    Enormous kitten
    Distracts from haiku postingks
    Begone, you piglet!

  53. Leslie (NTA) says:

I call : his name must be Spammity Spam (the excess of Spam, doncha see?)

  54. Then along came a kitten so big
he was named for a bit of the pig
    he declared “I am Bacon
    and this spot is taken”
and then he pushed me off the best teat

  55. Teresa says:

:D I would immediately REMOVE the HUGE kitty and stick a bottle of warm cat milk in his mouth :D I would teach him to come this “Mom” for his feedings :D

  56. Copperbat says:

This post reminds me of an incident… A club I belonged to decided to enter a team in a large charity event/scavenger hunt. Everyone was required to participate in costume, and our team decided on the name “Dumpster Divers”. Being the pre-PC days of the early 90s, we donned street person attire, complete with grungy trenchcoats, bits of trash stuck on here and there, dirty faces, etc. One of my teammates was a very large and painfully shy man. It took us a lot of convincing to get him to join our team. He’d done an amazing job on his costume. In the end, we didn’t win, but we made some sponsor money for charity and had a great time.

After the event, all participants were treated to a nice buffet brunch at an upscale hotel. After a long morning of scavenging, we were hungry and my teammate made a beeline for the buffet (still in costume) to load up his plate. Hotel staff and guests alike stepped back and watched in horror as this huge, filthy street person helped himself to food that was meant for guests! (Picture people dressed in all sorts of ridiculous costumes scowling, pointing, and cringing at this man). Security was called and they tried to furtively escort him from the hotel. After some confusion and explanation, followed by apologies, he was allowed back in. He was so humiliated that he refused to eat.

I always wonder if anyone ever convinced that guy to leave his house again. :[

  57. Kelsey says:

    @ Janet2buns:
Right you are. Right you are.
He’s got two little bumps just under the surface of his gums now… tis only a wee bit o time till he turns into a little stapler.

  58. tblue says:

The big fella is obviously Mama cat’s baby from an earlier litter.

  59. Barbarella says:

    OMG It´s a MUTANT kitten!!!! :O

It´s most definitely not a pup cause there certainly aren´t dogs with the stripey tabby cat pattern in this world (at least I have never heard of or seen one) – see the little tabby tail of the mutant…. ;)

  60. Deb! says:

Misty C, poster #28 has explained what is going on in the photo.

If one clicks onto her name, updated photos of Taters and Bacon can be viewed.

What I find so prevalent throughout the internet is how little folks seem to PAY ATTENTION!

  61. Paunchie says:

Taters and Bacon! Geesh now I’m HONGRAY.

    “Giganto kitteh” LOL

  62. Misty C they are beautiful … and Tatters and bacon go so well together.

  63. snoopysnake says:

We seriously need a C.O.X.C.U. of the peeenkpaws of the marmie kittayn at the left. Ska-wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  64. Cecilia says:

Yeah like Deb said, Misty C’s post #20 says the big, squishy furball on the right is definitely a kitty nephew and not a pup, NTMTOM! AMG!

  65. Cecilia says:

    Er, #28!

  66. Katrina says:

PIG PILE ON NOMTOM! AGAIN with the glaringly cute, thank you.

  67. Lerrinus says:
