And This Will Be Your Desk…

by Not That Mike The Other Mike on July 22, 2009

Welcome to the company, Kittehs.

On Desk Chair

Now finish the diagnostics on that monitor, and then those mice need to be grouped into working and non-working and then sorted by cord length…

george 4

oh, and Sales needs the inventory reports for 1987 through 1994 burned onto those CDs; 50 copies, please… and while you’re doing those, the cat needs reformatting…

Elizabeth K. Sandi M., and Hillary H., thanks for all the officicular shots.

Hon Glad – You are missed.

2 Not That Mike The Other Mike 07.22.09 at 9:28 am

I have dibs on that $20 in picture three — I SAW IT FIRST!!

3 foxy 07.22.09 at 9:29 am

that little guy in the first pic seems to have a bandage on his hind leg

4 Not That Mike The Other Mike 07.22.09 at 9:33 am

@foxy: I see it too! Kitteh’s getting around pretty well for an invalid. :-)

5 DaytimeDeb 07.22.09 at 9:38 am

Is that cat napping in #2? I wish I could do that!

6 brinnann 07.22.09 at 9:38 am

NOMTOM, you can have the $20 if I can have the $25 gift card to Borders.

7 T.U.M. 07.22.09 at 9:40 am

I wish I could take my kitteh to the office! She could be a paper shredder or something.

8 KittyAdventures 07.22.09 at 9:44 am

OMG these are the best coworkers ever.
The purrs teh mews the cuddles … the playing with string.
Ohhh YEah I am all over that stiuation.

P.S. Kisses to the kitty with the broken or injured leg.

9 5^^now8ing 07.22.09 at 9:49 am

Oh, can I work there? Pleeeeeez?

NOMTOM & Brinnann — Grabby McGrabbersonses! No, really, take all the monies you wants. I just want the kittehs!

10 KittyAdventures 07.22.09 at 9:51 am

Toes, tails and tocks…
totally T-tastic

11 Mary (the first) 07.22.09 at 9:52 am

If we had kittehs in my office I would not dread coming here as much as I do.

Ooops, did I say that out loud??

12 Jen 07.22.09 at 9:58 am

You and me both, Mary. *sigh* You and me both.

On a side note… I’m pretty sure CO is bad for my job performance … I constantly feel the need to take a break from my work and check if there’s something new on CO to cheer me up. *shifty eyes* No…. of course I’m not taking one of those CO breaks right now! …. okay… you caught me!

Oh well! As long as its not the boss-man who catches me, right? :P

13 brinnann 07.22.09 at 10:01 am

Jen, conversely it could be HELPING your job performance: Teh Qte puts you in a better mood, thereby increasing your productivity when you DO get back to working.

14 Dianne 07.22.09 at 10:01 am

Kitties with broken legs shouldn’t be forced to work!!! Bad boss!!!

15 Paunchie 07.22.09 at 10:10 am

that’s what I was gonna say! Broken leg?? Poor bebeh! He seems quite frisky though, unlike nappy kit in pic 2.

Gotta say I’m not wild about the new rating feature. Do I get a thumbs down for that?

16 Trabb's Boy 07.22.09 at 10:15 am

See now? I was going to just write “memory dump” and do a smiley face, but now I can’t. Because it isn’t INTERESTING enough to get a thumbs up. So I’d feel like I’d wasted everyone’s time. But then I can’t pass on the compliment to NOMTOM. Who seems to like the rating system since he was telling us to give it a chance. So to heck with him anyway.

Is this REALLY what you’re going for here?

17 gizmo 07.22.09 at 10:18 am

… and don’t forget to fill out the TPC reports. And use the new covers this time!

18 Metz 07.22.09 at 10:21 am

All I can say is that the world would be a much better place if all offices came equipped with kitteh technology.
Ok ok, MY world would be a much better place…

19 Kar 07.22.09 at 10:23 am

You all can have the twenty and the gift card. Is that a check book I spy? (ding ding ding!)

If the dept of labor’s ok with broken limbs in the work place, who are we to complain? OSHA may have a problem with the fire-aisle bottleneck of co-workers who stop by and go “awwww, poor leetle one. Does baby have an an owee?”

20 Susan 07.22.09 at 10:25 am

I worked from home today with a cat draped across my arms. Not very productive.

21 Stunbunny 07.22.09 at 10:28 am

“Hi kit-tehs. Whaaaaat’s happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports. Yeeeeeah. Did you get the memo?”

22 Kristen 07.22.09 at 10:29 am

Wouldn’t it be awesome if all offices used warm nappin’ kittehs for paperweights? Put that in the suggestion box!

23 Brie 07.22.09 at 10:29 am

I wrote most of my senior papers with either a cat draped across my lap or sleeping on my head.

24 Kristabelle 07.22.09 at 10:44 am

OH, kitteh in photo two!!! SOOOO sweepy!!

For the umpty umpth time, I SOOOO wish I were not allergic to the kitters!!!

[Do the do the Umpty Umpth! Lemme have a little of that bass groove here... doooo-reeer, doooo-ree... aw yeah - Ed.]

25 Theresa 07.22.09 at 10:45 am

And these are my research assistants . . .

26 Dawn 07.22.09 at 10:47 am

#2 Office Assistant, laying next to the file pile! (alseep on the job!!!!) Good help is so damn hard to find.

27 KittyAdventures 07.22.09 at 10:51 am

Tech kitty says.. I think you got a loose wire back here that is causing your issues hang on a sec while I climb back here and reattach it.
Tech kitty to the rescute!

Now see if all my Tech guys could be kitties.. .. Okay maybe that would be a bit expensive as I would be always calling them.

28 browngrl 07.22.09 at 10:54 am

I work at home and I usually have one cat beside my computer and another cat sits on my lap – it is the BEST way to work.

29 Katiedid 07.22.09 at 11:11 am

Bring-your-cat-to-work day would be awesome!!!

30 Kathleen 07.22.09 at 11:19 am

The hovertext on the last photo has officially rendered me completely useless for the rest of the week. I’ll just be going home now.

31 KittyAdventures 07.22.09 at 11:23 am

@ Kathleen.. as if the look in Kittehs eyes in Pic One hadn’t rendered us all unable to function already LOL

32 Von Zeppelin 07.22.09 at 11:35 am

NTMTOM, Brinann–Go ahead, take the twenty and the Borders card. The kitten just spotted a stack of Franklins and an American Express Platinum card in the back of the drawer. He’ll send you a Twitter to let you know how the mai tais are at the Cotton House Resort on Mustique.

33 manekineko 07.22.09 at 11:47 am

pyrit, what happened to Hon Glad?

34 manekineko 07.22.09 at 11:48 am

(meant to bold those, not italicize)

35 lLUVCUTE 07.22.09 at 11:52 am

Third one is going in for the money! Cat burglar :)

36 gatonejo 07.22.09 at 11:59 am

nice legs ! XD

37 Berg 07.22.09 at 12:05 pm

That second picture cracks me up–kittens really can sleep anywhere.

I love the eager face on the injured legged kitteh in pic one, too. That little boy or girl is ready for anything!

38 earlybird1 07.22.09 at 12:09 pm

Must be a home office – unless dress code includes boxers! :)

39 brinnann 07.22.09 at 12:18 pm

 Now Teho’s earworm is gonna be on repeat in my brain for the rest of the afternoon.

[Yep, I still got it. ;) - Ed.]

40 sunnymum 07.22.09 at 12:20 pm

I would not get ANY work done if kitters were around. And Mary (the first) and Jen, I feel your pain, oh so well. And Brinann is right on, productivity increases after a few minutes with CO. And as a bonus, nobody I work with is actually strangled. Oops, at least it wasn’t out loud. Heavy sigh. Thank goodness for the furry welcome home committee after work!

41 Argyle Donkeypants 07.22.09 at 12:23 pm

@ earlybird1: I hope the dress code doesn’t include boxers — they’d chase the cats.

42 alwayscataddict 07.22.09 at 12:24 pm

When I worked at the police department, we had a rescue kittie for a while (until someone complained they were allergic). She was a great stress reliever. We named her Miss Deamenor. The name worked on several levels, since she was actually very well behaved.

43 FUNNY 07.22.09 at 12:37 pm

The 3rd one wants to help he is looking for the mouse.

44 Annie 07.22.09 at 12:43 pm

Just searched all my desk drawers and not a single kitteh to be found in my work area. Harrumph!

Oh – and does it seem like someone is going through and giving all the comments a thumbs down? Really? Stoopid trolls.

I shall shove them from my mind with more virtual kitties!

45 katiedid 07.22.09 at 12:55 pm

Huh… I never noticed the bandaged paw in the first pic… Must have been entranced by kitten eye.. they’ll get you every time.

46 chanpon 07.22.09 at 1:01 pm

Hands down, the best new hire orientation program ever. And I’m speaking from over a dozen years of HR experience. I shall look to implement this in my company asap!

47 Metz 07.22.09 at 1:02 pm

“[Yep, I still got it. - Ed.]”

Well Give It Back!!
Unless “It” is a kitten, then GIMMEGIMME!

48 MEK 07.22.09 at 1:04 pm

OK, so my spouse MUST change jobs and work here with the kittehs in pic #1, as they scored a desk chair (*even* if they have to SHARE) and her new job can’t seem to do even that!!

Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh to Kittehs at werk !!! Wish I had kittehs to work with, too!

49 GingerBean 07.22.09 at 1:16 pm

Someone made a comment about doing all their school papers with a kitteh draped on their lap…yeah, that’s me too. I actually have a pic my bf took of me using my cat as a desk; leaning my book on him as I read. He’s a big boy (20lbs) he can take it.

And are you KIDDING me with that little sleepy mcsleepersons in pic #2??! SOOOOOOOO cute!

50 Nikki 07.22.09 at 1:20 pm

Oh, if only this was my office! “Well, you see, boss, I was going to get to that project, but there was a kitten sleeping in my In Box, and I couldn’t bring myself to disturb him…” I’d never get a thing done…

51 Katrina 07.22.09 at 1:59 pm

Is Hon Glad on vacation, I hope? What’s up with Hon Glad, pyrit?

52 pyrit 07.22.09 at 2:05 pm

manekineko – All I meant was to let Hon Glad know that we’d like to see the cut of his jib on the CO horizon again. ;-)

53 pyrit 07.22.09 at 2:07 pm

Katrina! Didn’t see ya there before.
Great Minds Think Alike.

54 Noelegy 07.22.09 at 2:47 pm

Why can’t I have coworkers like that?

55 flicka47 07.22.09 at 3:50 pm

So where are the pics of finger-grabbing kittens on the keyboards?…That’s why it tookme 5 minutes to correct spellimg errors here.Won’t guarrantee i got them al;l either !

56 Patito Gigante 07.22.09 at 4:16 pm

They took our jobs!

57 AmyJ 07.22.09 at 4:38 pm

Patito Gigante – thumbs up for the South Park reference!

58 Theresa 07.22.09 at 4:44 pm

Kitty union reps are here to collect your dues. Tuna please.

59 DogEared 07.22.09 at 5:23 pm

funny thing about bosses, i actually show mine something that’s on CO everyday….he knows i need my CO fix everyday….and these adorable kitties did the trick for me today! thank you!

p.s get well soon little bandaged-one!

60 Andrew 07.22.09 at 6:36 pm

OMG I totally take cat naps at my desk like the middle kitteh. I really don’t mean to…Please don’t tell my boss <<

61 Renate Uhl 07.23.09 at 12:47 am

so sweet-I love the one where it goes into the glove compartment :-) good one lol.

Renate

62 edmundh 07.23.09 at 5:51 am

I am an IT guy working in a cubicle farm. These kitteh’s should be useful for my daily work because:

i) Instead of having my users looking over my shoulder and complaining all the time I can have the kittehs distract the users while I work on their computer trying to figure out what’s wrong with it when they download one too many screensaver.

ii) As demonstrated by the 3rd picture kittehs are useful when I need to run another network cable behind a cabinet.

iii) They are kittehs! What more reason do you need to have them around your desk?

I need to pass this along to our purchasing dept.

63 Wolfie 07.23.09 at 6:05 am

Can’t believe Mike didn’t make any mention of the cast/injured leg! So much ripe material there — workitten’s compensation, etc.! :)

64 Jenn in IL 07.23.09 at 6:45 am

I wuv them all. The sweet bandaged kitty, the kitty who clearly fell asleep after getting kind of stuck there and the kitty rummaging for way better things than $20 and a gift card.

65 pyrit 07.23.09 at 6:51 am

Valerie –
A few hours ago, I was reminiscing about nights I spent sleeping down below deck on sailboats off the Florida coast, and hearing the clicks of the pistol shrimp through the hull. Maybe it’s all about the clicks. Rating each comment might mean more clicks (hits) for CO. Ya think?

66 HunnyBunny 07.23.09 at 7:50 am

On Picture #2, him’s little feets killed me so dead.

67 Kate 07.23.09 at 3:21 pm

These little stinkers can intern in my office any day! We could use a few good library cats!

68 Random 07.23.09 at 5:18 pm

I note this company is in San Diego.

This is obviously how the governor intends to balance the budget: reduce health care benefit requirements, replace with kittehs.

Judging by these photos, I’m tempted to say this is an acceptable exchange.

69 Teresa 07.23.09 at 6:24 pm

alwayscataddict, I watched this show about cats and a police department had an orange tabby kitty that they called, get this, “Killer” :D “Killer” was also a GREAT stress reliever :D Not to mention, BADLY SPOILED :D

70 Teresa 07.23.09 at 6:25 pm

I would just LOVE to have kitties like that around my computer :D
