What a cute li’l ball o’ prickles!
Is this Allstate’s new campaign? Free hedgie with any new policy?
Hedgie looks like he’s doing his stretching exercises – touch those toes!
No, no, no…..not term life insurance, whole life!! ‘Cause you know he will be around a LONG time for lots of love! Cutie
Awww. That hedgie’s in good hands… (and he’s got seriously cute hands himself!)
What a great thing to wake up to
A hedgie pic!!!! Roscoe (My albino hedge with the moistest nosesicle ever!) and I are thrilled to see prickles on CO today..much thanks and slurps (from Roscoe..)!
That little face — sleepy? winsome? Thinking great hedgie thoughts? Ehn.
That hoggle looks grumpeh.
I just switched to Allstate! So where’s my free hedgie?
I always think the present pic on CO will be the end-all-be-all and there couldn’t possibleh be any way to top the cuteness. You think I’d learn.
And here I was hoping for a hedge fund joke
TH: well-played.
You know, Hizzonner Hedgehog Handful, those nails look OK to me. No need to be a… er, no need to be rude.
I almost spit my coffee on the screen! *dies of teh cute*
Twilighthog!
Oh. My. GOSH! Can we get a close up of his teeny little nervous half-smile??? It’s utterly precious.
And to Katrina,
I don’t know if you read my reply to your messagio, but my little one is a bebeh boy. And is the Miriam Webster definition of adorable.
Now, don’t quote me, but I think you get a free hedgie every six months you don’t have an accident….
This hedge fund guy and a hedge hog walk into a bar….
Allstate – we put the hog in hedge funds
My goodness he’s cute! Sign me up!
It’s like mom always said, better a hedge in the hand than a squirrel in the shower.
Mom was pretty smart like that.
Nice clean neatly-trimmed nails keep tiny animalios safe. I say, good hands!
’cause that’s what you’re going to look like if you don’t get the insurance…
They must specialise in prickly customers.
baby hedgehog is just too cute. ty CO for brighting up the rest of my day with this pic.
EEEEEeeeeee I want to make him tiny tiny steel wool blankets!!!
krumpleton smith-using two hedgie spines a knitting needles? Yeah, I can see that. Using Brillo. Imagine rolling that tiny steel wool into a ball! Hey, it could work!
In a down market, it’s good to hedgie your bets.
I have a hedgie named Tumbleweed. LOVE THEM.
I’m a little hedgehog
Short and stout
Here are my toesies
Here is my snout
Hold me in your hands
I’ll pass right out
Give me love
or I will pout!!
@apotheosis: The statement “That hoggle looks grumpeh” is perhaps cuter than the pic itself.
Everything was going well until Hedgie was denied insurance due to a pre-existing condition: Terminally Pretty
Cute I guess that’s life in the fast lane…Uh, that didn’t work. Just meant to cross out “pretty” and show the rest. Doh!
This is a Dog Insurance policy with the word “Dog” crossed out and the word “Hedgehog” written in.
I just got renter’s insurance from Allstate for my new place in Phoenix! Coink-ee-deenk? I theenk not!
And the blue ribbon goes to Andi from NC for “I’m a little hedgehog, short and stout…” Hadn’t heard that tune in over 50 years–now I will hear it for days!
“It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this!”
@T.U.M. – does that mean this is Eric the Hedgehog?
Hedgie, Luv, ‘ave you met the Geico gecko? Yanno, off-screen like an’ all?
Is ‘is accent real? Does ‘e eat pie an’ chips? Do tell.
Oy, where’s me ‘ed. It’s ‘Edgie, innit.
Great. Now I’ll have “I’m a little hedgie” stuck in my head FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!
Oh that wonderfully round prickly heggie cutie… if we all had flamingoes we could play croquet!
@Camille ~ LOL!!! Always love a good MP ref!
@apotheosis ~ Such a sweet, amazing, friendship between that gentle man and Nutty the sqwerl. They can be such affectionate and fun little critters!
I think Cute Overload is wonderful, but isn’t keeping pace with my need for cute. Perhaps it’s because I check the page too often, but I would like some new cute posts, please! A few a day isn’t enough!!! More cute, please! The people demand more cute!
And the hedgie is adorable.
I always want to tickle their little pink toes.
Peenk feets!
A boy on whom I had a severe crush in college lived in London, and he told us that people would go to Regents Park at night, scoop up hedgehogs, and bowl with them. That’s what I thought of right away when I saw this little guy.
Nomtom, how about some time giving us the further adventures of the Prickly Kid? That was one of the all-time greatest posts. “Hewwo”!
p.s. Kelsey, just who is this Miriam Webster? Does she write dictionaries? Ha ha.
Skippymom,
Well, now seeing as she seems to know EVERYTHING, omnipotent even, and that she’s accepted as truth everywhere, or omnipresent, and there’s only one being we associate with possessing those two qualities simultaneously… I’d say she’s god.

That was a bit cheekey, huh?
This must be the cute version of the Twilight book cover.

It’s the toes. I am SO wanting to smoochie around those little toes — Sweet little BEASTIES!
so cute. Any hedgie pic is cute imo.
Surely you must have a cuter picture of a hedgie just waiting to be posted.
Awwwww…. Hedgie jokes are always funnie…. Hedgies are always cute….
Satisfied smiling, off to bed….
Dimmesdale!
I finally broke down and got a baby hedgie a month ago after 13 months of no hedgies. My heart feels complete now with my hedgie boy. I love hedgies, just love them. Funny little creatures, yet so winsome and so cute. This cute little ball of hedgie is just precious.
Yeah, you’d better insure your hedgie cause Obama looks like he’s not going to insure anyone.
Whoops, i meant to post that at the Huffpost.
“Look, Ma! I can tickle my own toesies!”
Lurve da hedgies! More! More!
Awh! He’s pretending to be the Slow Loris! Someone tickle him, quick!
Awwww! Pwickly widdle ball!
Aww. cute little hedgehog.
I want to have one! Sadly it’s not legal at my place to own one. They are so cute! Especially when they sleep and chew.
ohhh it’s a hedgehog instead of an apple
Berthaservant-how are you settling in? How is Bertha settling in? It is nice to know that Bertha has insurance, but watch your back, ok? You really shouldn’t have made her a signatory on the policy. Live and learn.
@Camille Better than Eric the Half-a-Hedgehog.
@ Berthaservant —
so tell us, did Allstate send you your complimentary hedgehog??????
JEEZ enough of the supposedly cute hedge hogs already.. they resemble a baby porcupine and i do not love porcupines because of what they can do to my dogs!!!!
Hedgehogs hedgies hoggles! YEEEEEEE!!!
I work for Allstate and forwarded this around, everyone loved it!
Jeez Kauaikat, enough of the dogs already…they resemble wolves and I do not love wolves because of what they can do to my babies!!!!!*
*5th exclamation mark added for super emphasis
Exception to above: maybe just this one.
hahaha awww what a cutie! You can even hear her breathing through those nosicles can’t you? *holds up old-timey ear horn*
I luff when they eat!!
This is my lil girl, Penelope Pickles!!!
Existantia – Penelope Pickles is a delight! Thanks for sharing her with us!
Awwwwwwww! Pretty Penny!
♫ “Like a good neighbor, Hedgehog is there!” ♫
Yeah she’s my cutie! Thanks Katrina and T.U.M.
She’s unlike many hedgehogs, ’cause she falls asleep under my chin every night hahahaha….I dare not sneeze.
Hoggles make the coolest faces when they’re munching on something. They’re like little cartoons.
@Existantia –
I second the affirmations o’ your Hedgie.
Also of note: Your posted video clip is an EXACTLY perfect mirror of Meg’s orig. video:
Hand Held Hedge (oh, well, she’s eating; but I couldn’t think of a verb for Eating that starts w/ an H altho’ I’m sure there likely is one/ are some)….
That is All. Carry on.
omg so cute i love hime
Leslie – totally. She’s funny when she’s halfway through a munch and pauses to look at me like…..”are you seriously watching me?”
LOL she just discovered how her wheel works yesterday. I hope she uses it more, because she’s beginning to get Hedge-a-loons ( which I sorts wanna tickle…) HUGE CO fan, hope they do more hedgie stuff!!!
Husband and I stopped keeping hedgehogs after Calvin, our third hedgehog, died.
He was a character. We let him have free run of the front room at night. If we got up in the night to go to the bathroom, he’d run up to our feet out of the dark to make sure it was us. Once he was satisfied, he’d run off again. In the morning we’d find him curled up between books in the bookshelf. One time he snuck into my husband’s bag and fell asleep (he was discovered before he went to work).
He loved to burrow under my exercise mat. I’d have to evict him before I started my workout, and he’d sit and glare at me. By the time I got to my crunches, he’d forgiven me and he’d crawl up my shoulder and make his way down to my stomach, where he’d spot me. Or at least that’s what I think he was doing when he’d stand on my stomach while I did crunches.
He lived with us for three and a half wonderful years. A character even to the end, we took him to an unknown vet an hour away after he fell seriously ill when our normal vet was closed, and he managed to charm every single person in the place. Even while being in an incubator.
We realized our hearts couldn’t handle another hedgehog after Calvin was gone. We decided he would be our last. Now we have a pound dog, who is every bit of a character Calvin was. We like to think that somehow Calvin sent him to us. Or that they would have gotten along famously.
MLO- Im so sorry to hear about Calvin! He sounds like he was a lovely hedgie. I’m sure he’s huffing from heaven
Not to fret, Calvin’s passing was a long while ago. All these hedgehog pics reminded me.
And I’m positive that he’s huffing, wherever he is.
Aww yeah I bet! I hope I reach the day where someone’s nipping at MY heels in the night!! !lol thats so hilarious.
I want one!! Too cutey!
