According to Sender-Inner Amanda, one of her bunnehs, “Mr. Morris” managed to impregnate a female bunneh (name withheld) the day before he was fixed. Way to GO Mr. Morris!
Luckily the babies were all “pretty darn cute.” Yay!
Send your (non human) surprise impregnation story in tuhday! [cross-eyed head tilt]

Well, there was this one time I was camping, and I saw this bright light in the sky…
…wait, wrong site n/m
Oh! Looks just like a perfectly browned, bite size cream bun(ny)!
mmmMMMMmmm.
Such innocence! Lookit the teensy feets and earses! *sigh*
o… mg… so… precious!
& koodos to Mr. Morris
Kinda reminded me of that guinea pig story from a while ago…
*brain exploshun*
OMH.
Baby bunnies.
Want.
Mr. Morris is my hero.
Gosh, that second picture…I’d have to nom on that. Look at that tiny blossoming ear! And that itty bitty back leg…om nomz!
…sounds like some neighboring bunny nogoodnick guy, tol’ Mr. Bunny that he was about to have a significant experience & he’d better PARTY TONIGHT !!!!!
How very ….cleverly opportunistic (or just part of the whole “how fast do rabbits multiply” theory….) !! And the Mama Bunny? Has she begun therapy yet, over feeling so used???
Baby bunnies are super cute!! We unknowingly bought a pregnant guinea pig once – ended up with 5 for the price of 1….pretty good deal if you think about it.
*splode* X3
The fuzz of those adorable bunnies is too much. <3
Laura, I love how baby guinea pigs hit the ground with wide open eyes & ready to go.
This ginger baby looks so snuggly soft. I hope it had a kiss….
I want to steal one. NOW. The adorableness is too much for my feeble eyes! They’re a lot cuter than my baby hedgehogs were at birth, that’s for sure. XD
Can you put them in a bucket to go? Please? I gotta nom!
Must .. resist .. pointy .. tails!
Look toasted Marshbunnallows
Surprise impregnation story: Many years ago, in winter, a friend called us up in the middle of the night because there was a bat in her apartment. We managed to catch the bat – who was pretty sleepy – but couldn’t release him because he was too tired and cold to fly. So we took him in, built a big cage (covered by an Indian bedspread during the day), named him Mr. Bat, and dutifully hand-fed (or tweezer-fed) him crickets daily. This went on for several months till one day in Spring, we pulled up the cover to feed Mr. Bat, and discovered he was really Ms. Bat. There were two baby bats on the floor of the cage, sadly stillborn. Shocked the heck out of us. Ms. Bat hadn’t seen another bat in many many months. Bats have delayed fertilization (or is it delayed implantation?) so she must have been carrying that sperm around for months!
The end of the story was that Ms. Bat started getting a bit antsy as spring wore on, trying to fly around her cage. So one evening we took her to the top of a nearby hill and opened the cage. She circled once to say goodbye, and flew off into the night. I miss her.
must geev soft kronches…trying not to pet my screen…
WHOA, Mr. Morris, you are the MAN, ifyouknowwhatImean andIthinkyoudo. We SALUTE YOU!!!
AmyJ: Wow! I’m sorry the baby batties did not make it, but amazing that you were able to keep Ms. Bat alive and healthy.
Surprise Impregnation Story: see, Christmas, origins.
that second picture is TOO MUCH!!!
@Berthaservant:
“Oh no, you di’ unt !!!”
I love baby bunnies’ little tailios before they get all fluffed out and poofy. Teensy little nubbins. And that Mr. Morris. He’s ALL MAN!!
my brother’s girlfriend’s relatives cat had 3 kittens, he came back with a 3 month old black one. they WERE gonna get her fixed and before they could, she got preggers again. i needed 2, but he had to the whole litter, so 7 kittens came form iowa. i picked out my 2 and we dubbed the 5 others-the castaways. skipper was a double sized orange. maryann was a tomboy, ginger was, well, the movie star calico longhair. gilligan + thurston were cute too. my brother was left with skipper. but gosh darn it, my little basil grew up as big as he is.
When me and Sis were kids we had pet rats, I had an albino girl named Snowflake and she had a black hooded boy named Africa (he had an Africa-shaped black blotch on his back). One day when they were about year old we let them out to play together, and I’m sure you can imagine what happened next. Snowflake had only two babies (I think because of her age, she was a bit up there for a first time mommy rat), and they were both born completely gray.
Africa was a great dad, as we found out when we put the little boy in with him, he would groom and play with him all day long. The two babies ended up going to good homes.
kibblenibble – thanks! I guess we could have kept her healthier if we’d known she was pregnant. I felt really bad. But it was a wonderful feeling to see her fly off.
I bought a hamster that turned out to be pregnant. I was worried about her because she hadn’t been stirring out of her nest at all that day, except once to go barf. So I went over to the cage to check on her. She got out of the nest to see me, and I saw the babies. They were like little wads of chewed bubblegum. It was great when they started squeaking — they sounded like dog toys. I kept them all.
My sister’s bunny, Skippy, did the same, except he died during his surgery
At least he left us a gift. We named his only surviving son Pippy in his honor. He wasn’t quite as quite as these buns, we it was close.
@PansyPoo
1: love the decision to name the crew after the Castaways on Gilligan’s Isle.
Hooray for silly logic!!!!
2: I was raised with 4 siblings, with a dog called Skipper; alas it was not due to television sitcoms but rather simply, named after the guy who provided the pup to us. He was a Brittany Spaniel. Wunnerful, wunnerful breed for bringing up kids. The only time I ever saw my Dad cry, was the day we put Skipper down due to old age & lots of quality of his life issues…my mom staunchly refused “ever after” to even consider having any other pets. I remain convinced that if G_d’s Heaven doesn’t allow pets, I’m not interested in applying for a room there. sniff.
This post reminds me of this story… its too funny.

@Leslie, didn’t you ever see that Twilight Zone episode? If they want to make you leave your doggies behind, that’s how you know it’s the other place.
My roommate’s cat Aslan got my cat Nineveh pregs the night before he went to the vet too. If it hadn’t been for that well-timed encounter, I would not have had 3 cats (kept 2 of the 4 kittens) for 15 years.
I recall the night they were born: “Ooh, look, a black one! A totally black one!” “I’m definitely keeping that one. I’ve always wanted a black cat.” “Oh wow, and now there’s a white one!” “Oooohh … hey, Nineveh is grey … I could have one white, one black, and one grey … yeah!”
How precious! Is anything cuter than baby bunnehs?
Snorgle sized!!
And surprise pregnancy…yeah, that’s what they ALL say.
Well, there was the cat who acquired me on my 14th birthday. Her previous handmaidens said she was a 1 1/2 years old and had never gone into heat. Imagine our surprise when she gave birth to 3 kittens 2 weeks later (a week before the big snipping ceremony at the vets!). Bonus b-day presents!
OMG can there be anything cuter than a baby bunnnnnieee!!! Agh!
@Berthaservant: LOLing my AO.
oh…the ears…the feet…the eyepods…the leetle nose…I may asplode from the cuteness
BTW, my across-the-street neighbor brought in a very sweet, petite, young little female cat . . . who had FOUR KITTENS. She is still the smallest in her family– her kittens are all vast, sprawling blobs.
I never felt like nomming a bunny, but I do now. I think the white ones would vanilla flavoured and the orange ones would taste like sherbert. yummy.
I have to say I’m really surprised that there hasn’t been a comment yet akin to “ZOMG! You better not touch those bunnies or it’s mom will kill it!!!” (Because people are stupid like that, yo.)
::commences snorgling::
Theresa: ok, great–thanks for the positive anticipation. I’ve watched a couple of Tw. Zone marathons (geek, anyone?) but hadn’t seen that one, so — good to know!!
(favorite episode, you ask? That’s easy — the one where the geeky guy with eyeglasses the size of Rhode Island gets stranded with millions of books & lots of time….then manages to BREAK the eyeglasses).
And congrats on the cat stepmom experience. Never have heard the combination “sprawling” & “blob” used together. Intriguing!
Peace & confetti to all
oops — I think I missed again (80′s music reference for the day)
You said your *NEIGHBOR’s* cat had kitayns…sorry; thought you said it was in your household. Mea culpa
Peace & stuff
Awww. They are so tiny and cute! Would so love to have one!
Tiny ears!
What Breed are they?
A bun in hand is worth a dozen in the bush. So gimme my bunny.
The bun in the last pic looks like a mini dinner roll. *stuffs in mouf*
No dangling limb comments? I love these stories, especially that poor bat who was probably freaked out by her whole experience. I also love how a cat has previous handmaidens, sometimes I get that feeling.
BTW, Leslie? When the lady vet had to put my father’s cat to sleep, he apparently cussed her three ways to Sunday and nearly punched her lights out before stomping out of the office. My mother apologized profusely but apparently this is an occupational hazard.
The suprise pregnancy stories that amuse me are encounters between Chihuahauas and Great Danes!
I’m gonna need that first pic in HQ. (Multiple pointy, tiny tailio alert!)
Those tailios are KILLING me over here.
my kitty who i’d found in the street and had had for only 6 months was suddenly a bit lumpy, and a week later she had a kitten. i was at my boyfriends’ and when i got home she had finished and was chowing down on the afterbirth. i almost barfed, i had missed all the good stuff. but after a damn good washing my bed became the funnest place on earth for the next four weeks….and stop it you naughty people i meant, teeny kitty family …….not naked bits, or parts connection!!
The cutest thing I ever found was a surprise three-fer from our guinea pig, Paprika. I was bringing her food and voila- I had already made an appointment with the vet, because she was looking kind of ‘funny’ to me. So, Momma and babies had their ‘well baby’ appointment at about three hours old. They were so sweet- and so complete- nothing baby about them except they were so tiny. The babies were all nice and furry and nursing and eating food. Amazing. We kept Nutmeg and gave the other two away. The boys were enraptured. The guinea pig husband, well, I learned that many guinea pigs are impreganted in pet shops and that the shop was not at all surprised that got a three-fer.
Kar — thanks!!
I never quite considered the possibility of assault/ battery on a vet/ shelter staffmember, before.
Wow. That rather “takes it to a whole ‘notha level” as they say, “they say” these days. Evidently your dad felt strongly about lovin’ on his household companions!!
Hopefully he managed to avoid a police record & you all are now living happily ever after??????
Thanks for the understandingness!! Have a lollipop kinda day.
Has anyone noticed that the comments for Sooty’s adventure stops at 69!?!?!
Was that on purpose Theo!?!?!?!?!?
LOL!!!
lol I posted Sooty’s escapades earlier on. Too funny
I was fourteen, my female guinea pig Rachel had got knocked up by her rather smaller partner, Roger, just before he keeled over and died from pneumonia. When Rachel’s four babies arrived, my father and I duly turned each one upside down and compared all the bits to the diagram in our guinea pig manual. After identifying the only male, we gave him away to a friend of mine and settled Rachel and her daughters into one big cage.
This is how I discovered that diagrams in pet care books can be misleading, and that guinea pigs have no incest taboo.
Cute? Those pictures? Understatement of the year.
Theadosia-I hope that is your real name, it is just so poetic – nicely told!
My brother has a beautiful Beagledor – what I call the perfect apartment-sized Labrador. He’s the result of a jailbreak at the breeders’ compund. A Labrador boy found a beagle girl – and poof a litter of Beagledors! Parker is all black with white socks, boots and the tip of his tail, but beagle bone structure. He and his littermates are all beautiful, and I suspect, unrepeatable.
We’d had several pairs of male gerbils before, partly as Cat TV, and decided this time to get a pair of females, whom we (okay, I) named Thelma and Louise. Turned out Louise was already pregnant and had four babies a week later. That was bad enough, but then Thelma turned out to be a boy who grew up and got her pregnant AGAIN– it seemed like a rodent Christmas Story when the second batch appeared, apparently with no male contact…. So instead of two gerbils we had eleven until we adopted a few out. Note: female gerbils don’t always get along once they mature, so we had a LOT of individual cages….
The day after getting the snip (he was kept whole-but-nonfunctional to act as a teaser at the track), my greyhound jumped the fence and had his wicked way with the friendly lady dobermann next door. We thought nothing of it, but apparently his system hadn’t quite flushed out yet. A few months later, she gave birth to three long-legged, pointy-nosed blonde pups that run like the wind.
They still live with my neighbour, and come over to visit their wily old Dad sometimes. One day, they might even be able to keep up with him.
About 10 years ago, a black lab mix showed up at our door and adopted us. We never knew who she belonged to, and mom fell in love with her; so we kept her and was dubbed Peaches. Mom took Peaches to the vet for the whole run through to see if there was anything wrong, and the vet insisted that she was not pregnant.
Imagine our surprise when she woke up one morning to find the back room where she slept a bloody mess and six pups nomming on the milk bar..
All pups found good homes. :3
oooooo they are so cute!!!!!it reminds me of my guinea pigs.one minute your taking a nap,the next minute four cute little guinea pigs are squealing for food.
Ten or so years ago my boyfriend rescued a cat that he found left behind in an apartment he was cleaning after the tenants left in a hurry. She passed away about a month ago. A few days after her passing, a young cat with extra toeses showed up in his backyard. She had no collar, no microchip, and shoulder blades you could just about shave with she was so thin, but a roundish belly. He invited her in, and she was so hungry she ate dog kibble. He served cat food and she ate and ate and ate, and kept on eating. It got pretty obvious within a week or so that she was eating for more than one. She just gave birth to six babies last night. I’m planning to put together a photo journal of them and send it in at some point.
lol so cute and WOOHOO CG ON THE TIMING MR. MORRIS
