At first, this situation looks pretty typical…

…A gorgeous little pup, lying around, looking completely innocents.

But then, someone asks—”Hey, what happened to our pet bird? Where’d he go?”

But editors….I see no tag for “Naughtiness” ??

Hopefully yours, Helpful (?) Hannah.

[Ah yes, good point... fixed! - Ed.]

That gaze sez: Guilty Guilty Guilty:
but the pup plea-bargains down to permitting the prosecuting attourney to nibble pink jellybean toes, and a pwomise to never EVER do it again.
Urp.

5 Suzeo 06.29.09 at 4:41 pm

This cracks me up! The double-zoom technique was particularly effective!

6 Wend 06.29.09 at 4:46 pm

Ulp, that feather looks just the colour of my pet bird– runs to cage, checks both birds are there– OK, you’re forgiven, you shweeet wittle thing you ( nuzzles puppy, noms toes, rubs belly).

7 tracylee 06.29.09 at 4:56 pm

Come on…would that baby face lie to you?

10 Camille 06.29.09 at 5:20 pm

I guess the “I’m going to eat you” tag would not be entirely appropriate for this one…

11 chanpon 06.29.09 at 5:20 pm

Yeah, bro, those Princess Di eyes won’t save you now..

14 stacyhorn 06.29.09 at 6:06 pm

Wait, it’s a joke right? He didn’t really eat the bird, right?

15 AmyJ 06.29.09 at 6:11 pm

Urp!!!

16 Jess 06.29.09 at 6:14 pm

Well they didn’t *see* him eat the bird… For all we know the bird could have just gone to a summer BBQ. The puppeh was sad he couldn’t go so the bird gave him one of his feathers, right?

17 temperance 06.29.09 at 6:38 pm

i’m just gonna tell myself that feather fell from a blue jay flying overhead. that puppy would NOT eat a little birdie! right? no, no, noes!!!1!

18 Nicole 06.29.09 at 6:58 pm

NOOOOOO!!!! I hope it was a feather from an outdoor bird like temperance says. Yes. That’s what I’ll think until it was actually confirmed that he ate a pet bird.

19 DaytimeDeb 06.29.09 at 7:02 pm

Oh, and shouldn’t this be tagged with violence? So deceiving, so deceiving. Just goes to show you can’t trust kids these days.

32 Electric Lady 06.30.09 at 3:59 am

omg are you serious?! so precious!

33 Michael Claymore 06.30.09 at 4:25 am

Man, those are some evil looking eyes he’s got. You know, the word assassin comes from a cult that used to get high on hashish before killing people, if those red rims are anything to go by, thats what we have hear – a furry little “hashishin”!

34 Pheas 06.30.09 at 5:02 am

Pup, call 1-800-LAWYERS stat!

40 Kellie 06.30.09 at 9:04 am

i have to admit .. the random “OMGPONIES!!!1!!” cracked me up more than the actual post. but, the pupee is kewt too. :)

41 Noelle (the First) 06.30.09 at 9:11 am

Exactly why my dog can not get to my birds!

Although, knowing my dog, she’d just run and hide from the birds anyway :)

42 monkeylina 06.30.09 at 9:11 am

My vizsla gets *exactly* that look whenever I catch her with a sock/shoe/birds egg/piece of paper/slice of bread etc etc. Insert any non-nailed down item here.

43 Susan 06.30.09 at 9:33 am

Don’t worry@! The birdie didn’t REALLy die. She just went to live on a farm in the country to play with the other birdies that weren’t eaten by other family pets.

44 Melissa H. 06.30.09 at 10:08 am

Murder is bad.

Oh wait, for a second I thought I was at Cute with Chris. [ducks, runs]

45 Kiragirl 06.30.09 at 10:24 am

I didn’t think that 1st pic was quite innocents….gorgeous, yes. I want one.

46 cheshirekittehkat 06.30.09 at 11:39 am

Hmmm… it’s possible this is all that’s left of the feather pillow the pup ripped up this morning on his owner’s bed; (akshully, I think he destroyed two of them….)
In any case, wait until the master next goes into the bedroom…..o_O (the screams will reverberate up and down all the streets of their neighborhood…..!)

47 Leslie T. 06.30.09 at 12:35 pm

so, Monkeylina….do tell about Vizlas…I recently watched either a Cesar Milan or a It’s Me or the Dog episode …in which Vizlas …were not presented as the sharpest pencils in the jar????? are they so adorable that one looks blissfully past it; or was the Vizla in this program *Not a Fair Representation* of the breed?? Are you & your Vizla in love? or is it an Adventure?? They surely are ELEGANT fellows & gals ….

48 Ronald L. 06.30.09 at 1:34 pm

The King of Pup, RIP 1958-2009

49 Nathalie 06.30.09 at 2:24 pm

Is that a Great Pyrenees? We had one and I was immediately reminded of her when I saw these pics.

50 sadimtouch 06.30.09 at 3:54 pm

poor birdie. prefer birds to dogs. bird should have ate the dog.

51 JudyB 06.30.09 at 4:27 pm

One of my bunnies is partial to the odd feather nomming. They end up all over the house when my cockatiel moults and he goes around hoovering them all up for me.
Does concern me what might happen if he got to close to the bird though…

52 Ermine 06.30.09 at 8:13 pm

Uhm… I second the “Was the bird really killed?” :( I’m kinda too sad about that to appreciate the cute pup. Can we confirm if that’s really what was happened? Please let it be a joke… Not the pup`s fault at all if so, but… still. Mega :( !

53 Misha 06.30.09 at 9:25 pm

Eh.

I doubt the pup really got the bird. My parrots drop feathers from time to time, and my dogs LOVE to play with them, especially when they were puppies. Seriously. “FEATHER! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! THE GREATEST TOY _EVAR_!”

Pyrenees pup, yus? Very adorable.

[Yeah, I can pretty much guarantee that even if this domesticated heap o' floof was a cat, it's very unlikely he could've caught a bird that corresponds to the size of that feather. Some people are frighteningly suggestible. - Ed.]

54 Doxylover79 06.30.09 at 10:18 pm

I totally agree with Hon Glad, this beautiful pups was set up by the cat. She put the feather in his mouf. This pups did nuthin, I tell ya nuthin! He’s being framed by the puddy tat. There, there puppy, it’ll be alright.

55 Katrina 07.01.09 at 9:38 am

Is this a babeh St. Bernard? So proshillycute. It picked up the feather from the lawn (pigeon, methinks) and, as a puppeh, it has the right to nom anything it can catch/gum/chew/luurkensproing.

56 Ermine 07.01.09 at 12:20 pm

Hey Mr. Frighteningly Suggestible: I have a 6 month old pup who has gotten two birds so far. It’s possible.

57 Jason & Shannon 07.01.09 at 10:35 pm

Yes she is a Great Pyrenees 10 weeks old in the pic.

No birdies were harmed in the making of this picture.

Thanks for the comments.

58 Katrina 07.02.09 at 10:25 am

Jason and Shannon- Thank you for sharing tat sweet pup- do keep us in the loop as to her development. We love a good Great Pyrenees story!

59 J. Bo 07.02.09 at 12:54 pm

My otherwise-lovely downstairs neighbors have a pair of hideously noisy birds, and said neighbors insist on putting the cage outside in fine weather… RIGHT UNDER MY WINDOW. OMG, the screeching. I’m going insane.

May I borrow this pup, please? It shouldn’t take more than half an hour, max…
