The cat is just reminding us (by marking) that is does, in fact, own everything in the house including the stairs!

My cat does this on every surface available.. walls, chairs., cupboards, beds, legs.. walls. The funny thing is, sometimes he doesn’t really turn his head in time to do the RUUUBBB.. so he bonnks his head against the object. Seriously. BONK. Meowww. BONK.. Meowwww.. He’s siamese, so he tells you about it as well.
That is the funniest cate I have ever seen. Is that the “safe” way to descend?

I do believe that this is certain scientific proof that domestic felines are neither traditional liquids or solids, but rather are non-Newtonian fluids, much like oobleck. I know because of my learnings.

That’s probably one of the nuttiest things I’ve seen a cat do, ever! But at least it gets good rubbies on all it’s different surfaces!
Haha. My cat does this same thing… or at least he tries to. We have carpeted stairs so the slithering effect is harder to pull off… he just sort of flops down one stair at a time.

Years ago when my sister brought her cat home from the vets (getting the cat fixed)the cat was still so loopy that she only made it up two steps then sat down and yowled, My sister made up a bed for her in a laundry basket so she could be where ever her peoples were because the cat kept trying to follow my sister from room to room.
This reminds me of the boneless chicken ranch/Farside by Gary Larsen. Boneless kitty — but has slinky inserted instead of skeleton!

This just confirms my theory that cats are actually a liquid. Oh also, there may be a cat in my future! My boyfriend just adopted a kitten. I have yet to see pictures, but I’ve been assured it’s adorable.

At first I thought it must be a CH kitty, ’cause mine can get pretty floppy sometimes. But then she seems to walk normally at the bottom, so she’s probably just trying to scent the entire stairway. Cats are efficient like that.
