All the women in my mom’s family and myself can touch our noses with our tongue. It’s a family trait that we all used to drive other family members and friends nuts. This very cute hedgie has the right idea. I used to love to watch my hedgies lick their noses, esp. when they ate baby food. The expression on this hedgie is almost the same as my late Popeye. I miss hedgies!

If memory serves me, moist hedgehog noses makes Theo’s “teeth all wibbly.”

Doxylover79 – you cuddle up to hedgies very carefully. First, wrap them in a hedgie blanket or a large towel so that no quills will poke you, and then sit in a comfy chair and put wrapped up hedgie in your lap. Make sure hedgie face is exposed and just enjoy holding your little hedgie. I used to sit with them nightly, all in their hedgie bags and they make great lap pets.

You also put something that smells like you in the cage with them (unwashed t-shirts are good) for a while so they get used to your scent. Then they’re more likely to uncurl when you hold them.
