Why do my bananas never come with little chickies?
bokeee
chickens like fruit?
I just got bananas. Mine didn’t come with chicks.
I need to go back and exchange them.
I love how his little backside seems to drop off so suddenly in picture #1
Almost matchingks with the bananas and the chick’s belleh.
Thanks, NTMTOM. I’m going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day…
We have a road in a nearby city named “Hogaboom.”
it almost looks like a stubby little kiwi bird rather than a chicken.
mmmm kiwi banana.
“I is blending with my natural habitat!”
omg, it’s a real life Peep!!
I iz guarding the nanners!
There’s about a thousand bad jokes to go with this picture. Let’s stick with Mike’s.
No chick-ita banana joke?
Adorable
So adorable! I laughed at the first photo cause the girl has her fists clenched. For whatever bizarre reason, I have that same reaction to really cute fuzzy animals. My fists get all clenched and sometimes I even grind my teeth (probably to suppress the mad urge to give them a squeeze. I remember noticing a 18 month old boy I babysat do the same thing. As he’d watch our puppy he’d clench his teeny fists and grind his teeth. I laughed because I didn’t think anyone else had that weird reaction to cuteness. Are we weird or do other people react that way? Xp
chick eat-a banana?
Reminds me of a song my mom used to sing to me:
Chickary Chick tra la tra la
Checkle-aroni in a banana
Kabolika wolika can’t you see?
Chickary Chick is me!
is the masking tape to hold the chickie in place?
Paunchie, you beat me to it by two minutes!
“How the hell do I get down from here with no wing feathers and a drop of 50 feet? I didn’t go to grad school for this…”
I’m planning to buy fruit today. So, the bananas will come with a little yellow chicky or ducky, the strawberries will probably include a cardinal, and with the kiwis I will get a kiwi, right?
Kiwis three for $1.00 plus a kiwi thrown in for free.
“So for a dollar I get four kiwis?” “No, no, for a dollar you get three kiwis, plus we give you a kiwi!” “So how much if I want to buy four kiwis, and will I still get the free kiwi?”
@Copperbat: you hear people say all the time “xx is so cute I just want to put it in my mouf!” It’s probably part of the same instinct, maybe from some very distant past when we carried and protected our newborns using our mouth?
@Trinky Dink, we used to sing:
Once there lived a chicken
who would say chick-chick
Chick-chick” all day
Soon that chick got sick and tired of just chick-chick
So one morning he started to say:
Chickery chick, cha-la, cha-la
Check-a-la romey in a bananika
Bollika, wollika, can’t you see
Chickery chick is me?
And another banana song:
Come, Mr. Tally Chicken, tally me bananas
(Daylight come and me wanna lay an egg.)
[OK, OK, I know that technically MR. Chicken can't lay eggs. And that the lines don't quite scan properly.]
And can we please organize a field trip to the Cutegenheim Museum?
Typical chicks going after the bananas.
Trinky Dink & Theresa! OMG, my mother used to sing the same thing to us little kids! She was from CT, howzabout yours?
“chickery chick” is a fun vintage popular song.
“Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, BANANA CHICK!”
The kyuoote Chickey-bebbeh is left over from Easter; after everybody ate up all the Easter candy and all the bebbeh bunnies were adopted, this liddol guy kynda hung around on his own; But never fear: by this time next year, he will be a large flamboyant rooster, strutting all over the backyard patio and intimidating the neighbor kittehs….
(cursing itchy submit finger)
“Are you my mother?” asked the chick.
“I am not your mother, I am a bunch of bananas” said the bunch of bananas.
“Oh, OM NOM NOM NOM” said the chick.
Are you my mother?
chickens and bananas! They are everywhere today! http://www.savagechickens.com/2009/06/coffee-is-my-muse.html
Now how teh HECK did that happen? 1st post shows up as #31 & 2nd post shows up as #30!!???
The giggle I got from the first picture’s hovertext was so what I needed today. Thanks!
Roundy ‘tocks.
I keep looking at the stuff on the table (after much ooing and ahhing the cute fuzziness) and thinking to myself, that looks like the makings of a MacGyver project there.
What, nobody recognizes a fellow Peep?
Thanks for the peep show. : )
Q: Why didn’t the rooster eat the bananas?
A: He was a little chicken.
No matchingks?
I mean…they’re nearly the same color!
J-ROFL -
Cute Overload, it’s cute aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnddd Cult – ew – ral
Why did the banana cross teh road?
Teeny tiny bebeh. I just wanna pick you up and cup you in my hands.
@Brinann, I had a prof in college named Hogeboom. Nice man. I don’t thonk he knows anything about the chickens or bananas.
*groans at all the puns*
Good work peeps!
What a cutie!
Awwwwwwwwwwww!
@meg, @holy cuteness
haha i said awwww! and my husband was like what? and i was like, “eets a cheeek”, and of course he’s like, “what?”, and without thinking when i went to show it to him i said “eets a cheeek on a banana” – and it sounded like chiquita banana hahaha
Hmmm…I would like a snack…let’s see–bananas or a chick? I’ll go with the chick, easier than a peeling a banana. Just pop in my mouf and NOM!
“The sky is falling! ” “Bananas are going up.”
Maybe, “the price of bananas is going up.” ?
Funny story about this chick, actually–she was born a few days before Christmas, which is a terrible time for a chick to be born. We had to keep her in the house with a heat lamp to keep her from freezing to death.
Her name is Jol (which means Christmas) and now she looks like this and just laid her first egg!
Art, schmart. This ain’t nothin’ but a Peep show.
When making fruit cocktail, don’t buy the bananas until your rooster is fully matured.
Fruit flies like bananas, chickpea’s yellow.
I actually inhaled with excitement like a small child upon seeing the infinite unrelenting CUTENESS of Chiquita Chicky!! Wheee!
Greetingks Earthlingk. I am Chicklit. I come in peeps. Take me to your tweeter. I was told there would be cabanas. Thanks a bunch. Now I gotta split.
@Soujin… she’s gorgeous!! And congrats on the first egg!!! What color eggs does she lay? Are they spotted, plain white, or brown?
@ Wend…. They’re probably YELLOW !!!
Love the Gwen Stefani reference! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
Chicky is so adorably yellow and fluffy. <3
I quickly scanned the text and instantly said aloud, “Princess Consuela Banana Hammock.” I think that should be her name.
Wend…the egg was PINK…click on the link! (Aaargh, unintentional rhyme!)
If I had a pet chick, I’d call it “lil’ soft-soft”.
This work is not as controversial as the her previous one involving a Pig a kumquat and Euphonium.
SQUEEEEEE!!!
This reminds me of the first story in the J.D. Salinger collection “Nine Stories.”
Which, I believe, is entitled “A Perfect Day for Bananachicks.”
I am a living chicken perch…naturally!
“The chick is bananas” Funny, but easily missed in the hover text.
Excuse me, but are those bananas floating in the air? I mean, I can’t se how they are “attached” to the fruit basket!
Very disturbing. Almost clouds over Teh Qte!
LOL @Paunchers: ” I iz guarding the nanners!” LOL
MATCHINKS!
She so key-ute. Where her bottom go?
I see *my* chick-ita bananas line has been pilfered! (Harumph!) So how about the cute little chick gives the bananas “appeel”? Sorry, pretty lame. (Hangs head, shuffles away in shame>)
Thanks Theresa!
I never saw the words to that song written out so I did it phonetically. That’s what they sounded like to my 5 year old ears. . .

what a beautiful farm! Including the filthy, disgusting hogs!
So cute, and it has chicks appeal.
Wiii how cute!! Out of curiosity, is that woman on the back Maltese?
Does anyone else think the little fuzzy momentarily contemplative peeper looks like a chubb chubb?
I have been very good, may I (We) please have a picture of a pink egg from Jol? She is a beautiful chick-chick! Congratulations for keeping her so beautifully. Do you know what kind of chicken she is?
The chick is named Jol, which means Christmas, and one of their pigs is Xmas? Do they have a cow named Noel, and a sheep (who’s actually a goat) called Yuletide?
I think the chick is suffering from the same missing-tock disorder as that baby moose. BTW, the grownup version of her is gorgeous (and her tocks seem to have come in just fine).
copperbat, yes!!! me too. i think her hands are the best thing about this pic after the teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny chickie, of course…
of course!
I can pop it in my mouf? pwees?
Wutta a pretty chicken! Wif such a lovely feather pattern….. We should have a photo-shoot with Jol sitting on her liddol egg……
She should be called Winston!! haha. Just remembered Winston lerbes bananas.
@Katrina–her mama is an Aracauna and her father is Brahma. If you look at the picture, you can see her colouring is like a Brahma, but she has little cheek muffs like an Aracauna. That’s also why she lays pink eggs–Aracaunas lay eggs in pink, blue, and green.
@skippymom–I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but Xmas is named after his date of execution. His sister, Bertha, will be bred when she’s old enough, so she gets a real name (on our farm, only animals that are going to live get real names–our surviving tom turkey is called Herman, after the turkey from the Beverly Hillbillies Thanksgiving episode).
@Paunchie–thank you so much! We love our farm.
@ nucleus
Look carefully at the stems of the bananas- they are hanging on a hook. It looks like the chicky fruit bowl is similar to this one
http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/unbranded/f/unbranded-fruit-bowl-&-banana-hook.jpg
thats the same fruit bowl/banana hanger i have lol ^_^
Soujin, I knew as soon as I saw “Scrapple Grappling” that you HAD to be in PA.
is that chicken taped onto the banana?
no praise, no blame, just wondering….
My chickens LOVE bananas! Especially old, mushy ones.
Chickie-ta-banana!
Chick appears to be inspecting the Chiquita seal for quality! Trust us, chick. It’s top notch.
Is it banana week on CO!? I love it!
@catloveschanel: To pick up some chicks, of course!
*groans at pyrit and Oakley*
awwwwwwwww!! he’s looks so serious!
Still Life With Chicken….. possible reference to my favorite book ever, Still Life With Woodpecker!? If so, dios mio, I think I’m in love!
Also, yes, very cute, very cute. :3
