My parents picked up two eight-week-old goldendoodle puppies last night and I get to go visit them this weekend. I can’t wait!

I bet they both still have “puppy breath”. Someone should bottle that smell so we can scent our homes with it. That smell falls somewhere between lavender and fresh baked bread on the goodness scale.

Brinnann, thank you for taking up my cause of the Nommage tag. I respectfully urge the blogkeepers to consider such a tag, since so many wonderful pictures involve nomming, yahnnging, chomping, or kronsching in some fastion. “I Shall Leeck You” rightfully has it’s own category, but I stand by my opinion that nomming is not the same as leecking. That’s the gist of my argument for the new “nom” or “nommage” tag, or some tag that indicates the presence of nommage in the post. If there is a formal petition of some sort to fill out, I will do so. Thank you.

Dogs do this to assert dominance or at least try, or maybe the one’s just hungry and the other pup looked tastier than kibble. You can’t always know at that age.
I think the left one was just showing the one on the right what could happen when you stick your tongue out at someone.
i totally understand how that pup doing the nomming feels! what a delicious lil muzzle. in fact, i woulda done it myself if she hadn’t gotten to it first.

@Noelle, we enjoy 2 weeks in the southern part of the state every August. Cape May is one of our favorite places–and it don’t get any more “southern” than that in Joisey!

Aw garsh, how stinkin’ cute! I am distressed to report that Rotties are one of a number of breeds that has been banned from New York City public housing. Breed-specific legislation makes me sad.
Ok – I knew it was coming, what with all the ‘chomp’ warnings and all – but I STILL giggled out loud at the third image. Am still chuckling about it even now as I type.

Oh boy, I would have to gobble up those 2 precious angels.
I’ve heard that canines do this because it’s a dominance thing, like “I can make it so you can’t breathe, so I am the alpha male.”
Considering how young those two are, I figured it was just a baby wanting to put something in its mouth. In this case, the closest thing to its mouth was its sibling’s face!
