And cockatiels aren’t even that smart as far as parrots go. One time we had a pair of Goffins cockatoos in boarding, the male unscrewed every bolt and completely dismantled their cage overnight! I’ve heard of other birds reaching through the bars to get the keys for their padlock, and watched another cockatoo slowly and methodically over the course of several months file down a bar in his cage with a D-ring from a toy. These guys are smart!
