When I was about 19 I spent my evenings driving a cab in a small suburb of Connecticut. Very late one evening I was driving a very dark winding road when I came across a dishrag that for some reason captured my attention. I abandoned the cranky voices on the cab’s radio and got out to see what was on the road and it turned out to be the loveliest purring happy little raccoon about as little as a teacup. Cars posed an immediate threat there so I could not do what should have been done, which was leave him to wait for his mother. Today he weights 30 pounds and smiles at visitors in The Nature Center.
I heard somewhere, maybe even here, that when a cat “licks the drumsticks” (thanks chanpon), they are really summoning the Mothership. And, I can believe it because I’m convinced my cats are really aliens.
BTW, one of the best things about cats is when they are leecking or doing something else and they just stop mid-leeck with their tongue out and look at you for a while. Much like what is happening in photo 1. (Yes, I’m stating the obvious…it’s late, gimme a break….)
