Oh Dude, I Am So Baked Right Now!

by Not That Mike The Other Mike on February 22, 2009

“Whoa, man… that was some righteous catnip, dude.  Do we have any more, like, Doritos or anything?”

Actually, I'm steamed, but, like, I'm too fried to care.

Like, thanks for the, uh,  picture and stuff, Diane D.

Maybe the kitty’s just tired, and wants a steam bath.

2 mervtheflamingo 02.22.09 at 1:48 am

Rice Kitty! (isn’t that a rice maker?) or a cavernous CD player?

3 kibblenibble 02.22.09 at 1:52 am

Caturday BBQ!

4 Nicole 02.22.09 at 1:54 am

That is some serious tear duct action.

5 Anonymous Coward 02.22.09 at 2:02 am

Whoa.

Now that’s either a really small cat or a monstrous rice maker. Or both.

One thing is for sure & this picture confirms it: cats can truly sleep anywhere.

Happiness is a warm kitteh.

7 Heather in Oregon with the baby kittens 02.22.09 at 2:07 am

Now my cats are demanding that premo nip…they want to know why they don’t get it yet. I tried to explains, its only available overseas…right? lol

8 sticky icky magical. 02.22.09 at 2:08 am

mellow man. mel-low.

9 Jace 02.22.09 at 2:14 am

Actually it’s a small rice cooker, so kitteh’s right, he’s more steamed than baked or fried.

10 chanpon 02.22.09 at 2:25 am

So this is what Zojirushi means when they say their rice cookers offer “fuzzy logic” technology.

11 Caitlin 02.22.09 at 2:28 am

heeey, I have the same rice maker, only in Engrish!

I wish my rice came out looking that cute!! Alas.

12 Caitlin 02.22.09 at 2:29 am

Haha Chanpon, I wanted to make a fuzzy logic joke, but my brains were a little too… well, fuzzy :P

13 mervtheflamingo 02.22.09 at 2:32 am

Cat in rice cooker…appears to be a set up for inappropriate, politically incorrect cat-as-main dish in Asian cuisine joke. I’ll leave it at that.

Cat’s in the kettle

Did you ever think, when you eat Chinese
It ain’t pork or chicken but a fat siamese?
Yet the food tastes great, so you don’t complain.
But that’s not chicken in your chicken chow mein.
Seems to me I ordered sweet-and-sour pork
But Garfield’s on my fork.
He’s purrin’ here on my fork.

There’s a cat in the kettle at the Peking Moon
The place that I eat every day at noon.
They can feed you cat and you’ll never know
Once they wrap it up in dough, boys:
They fry it real crisp in dough.

Chou Lin asked if I wanted more
As he was dialin’ up his buddy at the old pet store.
I said “Not today. I lost my appetite.
“There’s two cats in my belly and they want to fight.”
I was suckin’ on a Rolaid and a Tums or two
When I swear I heard it mew, boys:
And that is when I knew…

There’s a cat in the kettle at the Peking Moon
I think I gotta stop eatin’ there at noon.
They say that it’s beef or fish or pork
But it’s purrin’ there on my fork.
There’s a hair-ball on my fork.

15 wannadance 02.22.09 at 2:48 am

are you serious!!! you’d have to be sifting for seeds to find a negative ‘joke’ in there.

many many bad words of disgust…

16 wannadance 02.22.09 at 2:51 am

no wait: i was disgusted by the person who was starting to nuff.

the song is great, though, although poor jasmine ran in the other room…

if we cannot be irreverent and outrageous, then i am putting myself in a waffle iron or something….

hmmmmm, migraine meds affecting my affect.

17 cath 02.22.09 at 2:56 am

aw, man… kitteh’s bogarting the vaporizer again. no fair.

18 jenjen 02.22.09 at 3:09 am

So does the short grain setting work for shorthairs and the long grain for longhairs?

19 Jenn 02.22.09 at 3:12 am

@anon….We are not worthy! LOL!!!!

20 totalee puppy 02.22.09 at 3:29 am

A Rice/Cat Steamer to anon.
for an awesome song.

21 lurkertype 02.22.09 at 3:35 am

Steamed tabbico! (stripey calico)

She does look baked. Better give her some of the rice to assuage the munchies.

22 cachorro 02.22.09 at 3:45 am

Wannadance, your comments are cool. Sorry to hear you are having
migraine. You’re a tough
lady, but it must be tough times in Waffle City. Just
to say that someone cares–
even if that someone is a
nobody.

23 hyura 02.22.09 at 3:56 am

that’s a huge paw on that small kitty.

24 hamster-on-rye 02.22.09 at 4:01 am

You can use the steamed rice to make tasty nip-a-
nori sushi roll. Cats will love you.

25 Frankie 02.22.09 at 4:16 am

So…should I get out the
Doritos? I’ve got nip dip
for kittehs.

26 Caroline 02.22.09 at 4:16 am

I have the exact same model of rice cooker – the kitteh must be pretty little, as my kitten is way too big for the bowl!

27 temperance 02.22.09 at 4:30 am

i have a hello kitty rice cooker, but my cat has never shown any interest in it.

28 Joy 02.22.09 at 4:35 am

The kitten has the same contented look, down to the sleepy eye look my dog gets when he’s snuggled in with me or mom in “his” chair. That is one very adorable kitten and I love her coloring. By the way, I thought it was a bread machine, not a rice cooker. I don’t quite know what rice cookers really look like. Never needed to get one.

29 DumBunny 02.22.09 at 4:39 am

@Cachorro;
No one who come to CO in a nobody. We all somebodys here, cute picture lovers.

@Wannadance, I to hope you migraine goes away soon, they are no fun.

30 Annie 02.22.09 at 4:49 am

LOL I thought it was a bread maker and was gonna make a kitty Loaf joke
HEhehe
Kitty herb loaf

31 Dreamer 02.22.09 at 5:19 am

A haiku for Rice Cooker Kitty:

The cat, a dreamer,
Sleeps calmly in a steamer
While we go hungry

32 kibblenibble 02.22.09 at 5:29 am

Dreamer: NICE haiku! I once wrote one for my friend’s cat, when I picked her up from getting spayed at the kitty clinic:

Lucy
Warm, soft, sleeping cat
Pillowcased weight in my lap
Hysterectomy

33 LJ 02.22.09 at 7:26 am

Ugh, no, the anon song is not cool. It’s racist. The ‘asians eat cats’ thing isn’t even clever or new or relevant. Not charming.

34 berthaservant 02.22.09 at 7:28 am

Kitteh has a prescription, I’m sure. This is perfectly legal. Nothing to see here. (nomming on stoned cat toebeans)

35 Nyxity 02.22.09 at 7:41 am

omg. OMGOMG

i have that same rice cooker.

OMG x3

36 Kodalai 02.22.09 at 8:41 am

I generally find that song racist and annoying, but I gotta admit, this was definitely the right venue for it! :) I laughed.

37 Brenda 02.22.09 at 12:06 pm

I only eat shrimp dishes at chinese restaurants.

38 skip 02.22.09 at 12:08 pm

Hahahaha, jenjen!

39 Jen 02.22.09 at 12:30 pm

I’m with LJ. The “Asians eat cats” thing is xenophobic at best.

40 mervtheflamingo 02.22.09 at 1:18 pm

it wasn’t a nuff. It was an observation, meant to be a witty observation without making a racist joke. That is all.

I think the picture is adorable.

41 Cambridge Rat Mom 02.22.09 at 3:04 pm

Hmm, what’s that delicious spice you’ve added to the rice? Oh, cat hair, how delicious.

42 metsakins 02.22.09 at 3:08 pm

Just last night I was thinking about getting a rice cooker, but decided I didn’t need one. Now I’m not so sure.

43 Slick 02.22.09 at 3:26 pm

I have a feeling that that kitty is being lulled to sleep by twinkle twinkle little star, if that’s anything like my ricemaker.

44 cath 02.22.09 at 3:35 pm

@ stick: your rice cooker plays “Twinkle twinkle?” WOW!!! None of my appliances sings to me (unless the radio counts as an appliance…). Until now, I never realized how DEPRIVED I have been all these years.

45 Silent Meow 02.22.09 at 3:46 pm

I need to check my ricemaker to see if there is a kitty in there.

46 M. 02.22.09 at 4:18 pm

How many cups of rice must I had to achieve the right texture of kitteh?

47 Slick 02.22.09 at 4:33 pm

yea, I have a different model of the Zojirushi rice maker. It plays a little tune when you start it and when it’s done. Totally cute!

48 M. 02.22.09 at 4:33 pm

*add, not had… where are those Doritos????

49 Hon Glad 02.22.09 at 4:39 pm

I usually have special fried rice, perhaps I’ll ask for kitteh rice next time.

50 Rio 02.22.09 at 4:46 pm

That homegrown stuff really hits the spot.

No meal is complete without cat hair.

53 Katrina 02.22.09 at 6:41 pm

…or Corgi hair.

54 dub1 02.22.09 at 6:52 pm

Do like photos in my cookbooks, and this one demonstrates the last step for perfect basmati is always fluff it, erm, if it will let you.

55 Ginger 02.22.09 at 7:08 pm

That reminds me of a cat I know who likes to sit in the dishwasher while it’s being filled or emptied.

56 Theresa 02.22.09 at 7:29 pm

PS Has anyone else found the meerkat of their dreams on Compare-the-Meerkat? I found one that “can fold self into origami swan and pick nose with tail while achieving higher state of bendy-ness.”

57 kibblenibble 02.22.09 at 7:37 pm

Ginger: My Isabella sits on the door and watches carefully while I’m loading or unloading it. I always tell her she’s the supervisor, making sure that I do it right! :-)

58 Paunchie 02.22.09 at 7:50 pm

“why cat hair, how delicious”

LOL!!!

59 CoffeeCup 02.22.09 at 7:57 pm

My bunny leaves hair wherever he goes, but is always careful to avoid the kitchen.

60 Emi 02.22.09 at 9:45 pm

!!!

*goes and peeks in her rice cooker*

Mine’s busted :(

61 Gail (the first one) 02.23.09 at 12:11 am

@kibblenibble: I am always closely observed while I make coffee. After all this time, you’d think I’d have woken up to fresh coffee…..

Speaking of cats doing cute things….I took my nieces to see the “Circus Cats of Chicago” in performance this afternoon! Lots of jumping through hoops, walking a balance beam, etc. The show was capped off by a performance by “The Rock Cats”; a white one on the guitar, a floofster greyish one playing drums and a black one playing piano! They actually did play the instruments!!!! Apparently, they insist on playing only original compositions. All *very* entertaining and fun!!!

62 a woods 02.23.09 at 5:25 am

Wok the dog,
Steam the kitteh…

63 Eric 02.23.09 at 7:09 am

looks like my zojirushi rice maker.

meow

64 Raemie L. 02.23.09 at 9:31 am

Sometimes I’m a little baked,
sometimes, kinda steamed.
Now and then I need a break,
Chillin’ and splayin’ mah toebeans.

65 Granny 02.23.09 at 4:31 pm

Mmm. Nothing like a steaming hot plate of rice and fleas.

66 wannadance 02.23.09 at 4:48 pm

@kittienibble: ‘lucy’ is an extremely beautiful haiku, imho.
thank you so much for posting it…

i gotta find out exactly what a meerkat is, that it can pick its nose. remarkable…

thanks to all for migraine sympathy. sucko sucko but gone now….

gotta go out and buy ‘31 pounds of brown sugar and a pack of camels…’..

67 Katrina 02.23.09 at 7:01 pm

No camels-no camels, wannadance. I just decided not to purchase and eat a Burger King Bacon Cheeseburger-I expect the same behavior from you, young lady! No, not rational, but ‘pep talks’ seldom are!
Smoking is awful for you! C’mon, think healthy!

68 Nancy 02.23.09 at 7:45 pm

Break out the bonito flakes and wake up that flavor!!

69 wannadance 02.23.09 at 11:36 pm

@katrina, i think it’s old carlin or cheech and chong…

old stoner humor.

old but never a stoner, alas.

don’t skip cheeseburgers, damn, girl. life is short. eat one!! or nine!! you’ll only live about 16 minutes longer if you do skip it…

all the years i worked in medicine i never heard one single old dying person say ‘am so glad i ate only celery and styrofoam.’
they all say: ‘wish i’d eaten more steaks and chocolate…’

70 Katrina 02.24.09 at 2:19 pm

AAAAAhhhhhhh, but I didn’t not have “Eater’s Remorse”and neither do I have to work off the calories, and I am feeling so much better to have eaten my dinner actually hungry. Every tense of activity satisfied by not eating that juicy, oh, stop now….I need it like a whole in my head.
Thank you for your caring, wannadance, it was very kind of you. I hope you are feeling well. Have a wonderful day.

I’m so glad you don’t smoke. Sorry i didn’t get the reference, some things just fly on by me….

71 Katrina 02.24.09 at 2:21 pm

I did not have “Eater’s Remorse”, no double negative intended. Arrgh. (no pirate humor intended either.)

72 BlackKittiesRmyfriends 03.01.09 at 4:11 pm

awww that is cute!!!
