Don’t Ask

"Seriously, you don’t wanna know. I’ll spare you the details.  You’re welcome. All I’m gonna say is that whatever genius builds a chalet right in the path of a ski jump can fix his own damn roof."

But I got this lovely little sock at the hospital. So there's that.

Talk about de agony of de feet, Isobel L.

    Poor Ferg! Get better soon.

However, my thought reaction was, “how did you get up there?”

  3. skippymom says:

Ooh! Serious failure to use modesty tail, here.

    Poor kitty!

  5. skippymom says:

Love how his cast matches the cushion.

  6. Seven Paws says:

    Cute or sad?

Big blue leg in sock: CUTE!

Shaved kitteh leg and the expression: so sad!

    But priceless!

  7. Nicolletta says:

Poor Ferg! I hope your Mommy and Daddy give you lots of loves to make it better.

  8. scooterpants says:

    ha! poor ferg.
i guess if you’ve got a bumb leg you’ve gotta show your ‘man stuff’ to prove your still a ‘dude’
    he is very studly.

  9. jen says:

awwwwww poor baby. no more catastrophies, ferg!

  10. skip says:

We’ll excuse the lack of modesty tail due to injury but that cat’s look says, “I’ll get you for this…”

  11. Theresa says:

Does it say “PFERG” on that sock?

  12. Trisha says:

If a mom or dad made such a pretty cast, you know they will be taking very good care of Ferg. Lack of modesty tail excused.

  13. AuntieMame says:

    That’s a heart, Theresa. ♥ FERG

  14. Marie says:

Hey thanks Trisha I was able to miss that until your comment. Ew. Lol!

Mad skills on those captions, Mike. ;D

  15. skippymom says:

    @scooterpants: good point!

  16. VC says:

I didn’t know boy kitties could have that kind of orange/gray tortoiseshell kinda coloring.

  17. Estlin says:

Ferg is a beautiful cat. It looks like he is being taken care of very well.

  18. Chris R says:

When I was a kid my cat broke his leg. We were very poor and my Mom never took it to the vet.

The leg started to get rotten and stink so we had to put him to sleep.

    Memories *sigh

  19. nads says:

Those eyes! What a beautiful kitty.

  20. gryt says:

Ferg looks pretty happy in spite of everything. What a brave little soldier!

  21. T.U.M. says:

    MAH DIGNITEH

“The thrill of victory….and the agony of de-feet!”

  25. Jae says:

I love that Mommy or Daddy put him in a chair in the sunny spot. Good servants of the broken-leg kitty!

  26. MamaRobot says:

Poor sad shaved kitty flank :(

  27. Trabb's Boy says:

Uh, having one of each, I think Ferg is a girl kitty. ‘N it’s not just the tortie colouring.

  28. Sarah says:

Awwww, poor little Ferg. He must be well-loved. I hope my little Pearl doesn’t break any of her limbs, because I don’t think I’m crafty enough to make her a nice little sock.

  29. mary78 says:

Aw! Poor Ferg! But what a great name for a cat… Ferguson is my maiden name!

  30. sunnymum says:

So nice to see that Ferg received the medical care h/she needed. :) Looks like a well taken care of cat imho. REally sweet face; happy healing there Ferg!

  31. Charlie says:

My sisters’ notoriously stupid cat Jonesy broke his leg and had to have a pin put in. As if this wasnt bad enough my nephew was playing with his big magnet at christmas and accidently stuck it to his leg. The kid was pretty upset that he might have hurt him but Jonesy was fine and proceeded to lie on his back in the middle of the living room for the rest of the day.

  32. jlamusings says:

Awww! Love the custom cast! Get well soon, Ferg! One of my kitties is a Fergus so he has a similar name (assuming she’s a Fergie). :-) He’s been shaved for testing before too, so I called him “Ferginude” during that time.

  33. victoreia says:

That expression reads equal parts “D*mn! This hurts” and “Get that camera outta my face!”

  34. chanpon says:

    Toonces, NOOOOOO!!

  35. Teresa says:

I agree, skip. The kitty’s face says “Someone is going to PAY DEARLY for this!” Poor thing. I hope Ferg’s leg heals real soon.

  36. Mary (the first) says:

Poor Ferg. But definitely lucky too, since he/she clearly has devoted parents who have even color coordinated her sock to the furniture. And put her onto her favorite (I’m guessing) chair in the sun. Now if they’d just take the camera away.. !

  37. Kar says:

Charli, it sounds like your nephew was more traumatized that the kitty!

    I love resilant kittens.

  38. Brenda says:

We once had a kitty that got caught in a fan belt. It was an even more monstrous get-up that this. Even with all that, that cat could get around!!!

  39. Jen8 says:

If you have a Brazilian, you should always use your modesty tail when there are cameras around.

  40. dawgpup says:

lol but he looks sooo cute! :)

  41. kibblenibble says:

Ferg has the prettiest green eyes and salmon-pink nosie! <3

  42. cachorro says:

    I feel like lack-of-modesty
was kind of forced on me
at the hospital. Maybe that’s where Ferg got such a relaxed attitude and he
stayed that way at home. Me,I got my modesty back FAST once I got out of that hospital.

  43. berthaservant says:

“And quit saying that my middle name is Eileen!”

  44. M. V. says:

Em, he, em, forgot the privacy tail…

  45. M. V. says:

    Or she.

  46. BabyOpossum says:

    Heh. Eileen.

  47. Jordi says:

Is this cat’s name Fergus? Because he looks like a grey version of my orange tabby Fergus (whose twin brother is named Angus :D )

[...and Hanners and Dora and Marten and Faye and Pintsize and not so much Sven, though to be fair, I probably would've had a thing for Gina too, were I in the same situation, which I'm not - Ed.]

  49. Hon Glad says:

Ferget it Ferg, it’ll soon heal.

  50. iggle says:

This is my sister’s cat Fergus!! Sooo shocked to see him up there when i opened my Daily Dose of Cute this morning! I sent this pic in ages ago, he’s walking again now.
He’s a boy, named Fergus, originally from Houston TX (rescue cat), now happily residing in Surrey, England. Poor thing came home with several spiral fractures one morning, and it’s taken months and months of work to get him back in good health.
The nurses at the vets lurve him, and always give him special dressing wraps, he’s their hero.
    Go Ferg!

  51. iggle says:

PS – lack of modesty is entirely due to the shaving – he’s usually very demure! Fergus is a sweetheart – he looks a bit put out in this pic as he was on vet-enforced cage rest for nearly two months, and this was his daily supervised ‘outside’ time. He’s much better now, putting weight on his leg when he walks etc. and jumping up onto the sofa even.

  52. Trabb's Boy says:

That’s great news that he’s all better, iggie!

Personally, I will have to go reexamine my cats’ rear ends to learn what boys and girls look like.

  53. Yael says:

That’s great news iggle. I’m happy to know that he can walk now.

And to the Other Mike, cheers for the Epic Win of a Caption!

  54. Huskyteer says:

Looks like he’s still in shock! Poor little chap.

  55. Gail (the first one) says:

@Subhangi: Thanks for the link!!! That was great!!! More fame for our Meg!

  56. Nik says:

Iggle, thanks for the update! I love the fact that the vets make him fancy dressing wraps. That’s very sweet. But as a Texan now living in England, exactly what sort of accent does his little “meow” have now?!

  57. cheesybird says:

Yay, iggle! Thanks for the update. Glad to hear Fergus is doing well.

Oh my goodness, I just want to kiss his pink nose.

  58. Theresa says:

    Yay Fergus!

  59. Lu says:

iggle, thanks for the update! I adore Ferg and his sock. It was obviously made with great love and care. Please ask his people on the scene to give him a snuffle for me.

  60. Beth says:

Fergus says this means I get an extra can of fancy feast right.

  61. kar says:

A cat in an enforced rest cage? I’m imagining the old tazmanian devil cartoons where the box lifts off the ground in a storm of spit and cursing.

No wonder he looks put out! Glad he’s doing better now. Stay out of trouble Ferg!

  62. AuntieMame says:

    I’m giggling over Ferg’s Texas-accented British meow.

    Pip pip, y’all!

  63. Theresa says:

Hey, I have a friend whose daughter is a Chinese Italian Jewish American Texan Princess. ;)

  64. Theo says:

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  65. January says:

Unlucky Fergie is lucky that someone really cared enough to get the very best. It is a fashion look.

  66. January says:

By the way Ferg…we don’t really approve of the full monty.

  67. sinyorita says:

    cute

  68. Fergus' Mummy! says:

Thanks to everyone for their sweet comments! Fergus is my cat and we seriously adore him, he’s the most gorgeous boy. He’s also incredibly expensive (we had no insurance so he’s practially bankrupt us – who would think it costs SO much to fix a cat’s leg?). He is doing much better and hopefully only has 2 weeks of dressing changes left and then he can run free – yay! We love him and have passed on all your various snuggle requests!
A very proud cat mummy, xxx

  69. Gail (the first one) says:

Congrats, Fergus’ Mummy on such a cutie and being such good parents!!!!!!!!

  70. Katrina says:

Fergus’ Mummy- you are a wonderful person to have given Fergus a second chance at a good life. Bless your heart. I’m sorry for your financial situation,I hope you all recover soon.

  71. BlackKittiesRmyfriends says:

    Adorable but.. sad………poor kittie
