6 Christy Mesker 02.22.09 at 8:31 pm

How adorable! I love the little tail hanging down!

7 Jimbeaux 02.22.09 at 8:35 pm

I was just about to take a nap myself. Can I borrow the puppies to snuggle?

8 Floyd's Mom 02.22.09 at 8:48 pm

omgosh! puppy feets!!

12 momof2kittiesandapuppeh 02.22.09 at 9:15 pm

Irony alert! We have just acquired one of these! Well, half of a pair of pup bookends anyway.

Abby, the 8-week old chocolate lab puppy, came to live with us this week. Her tailio is equally as cute as this specimen.

13 Peg of Tilling 02.22.09 at 9:18 pm

Two Ocean War: Two Pup Peace, the sequel.

14 Stephanie 02.22.09 at 9:25 pm

Look at those bite size puppeh morsels!!!

15 Von Zeppelin 02.22.09 at 9:45 pm

I’m guessing that the brown pup represents the Atlantic Theater and the brown-n-white the Pacific. Apparently they’re about to be caught napping by the U-Boats and the Imperial Japanese Navy.

16 AuntieMame 02.22.09 at 9:48 pm

They’re hoping someone will write a book about them, like Dewey, the library cat.

17 nismo 02.22.09 at 10:00 pm

zzzz so tie-tie

18 Theresa 02.22.09 at 10:17 pm

Momof, Congratulations!!!

19 Heather in Oregon with the baby kittens 02.22.09 at 10:27 pm

The tail! Oh, this tail is a twisted and long tale… ;)
So many jokes, so little ability…for me. Hope someone comes up with some good ones, thats a great pic!

20 snowangel 02.22.09 at 10:33 pm

Forget the book, I just want the book ends. I have the perfect spot for them on my shelf, – er, _book_shelf that is.

:)

21 Jennie Mello 02.22.09 at 11:27 pm

those two must have stayed up late playing Uno.

22 Decca 02.22.09 at 11:52 pm

Obviously a dull book. Soft, but dull.

23 Gail (the first one) 02.22.09 at 11:56 pm

@VonZep: LOL!!! Apparently, these puppehs are students playing War Games at the Naval Academy.

@MomOf2+Newcomer: CONGRATS on your blessed event!!! Hope the kittehs are not too freaked out by their new sister!!

24 Patito Gigante 02.23.09 at 12:14 am

Yet another reason Kindle sucks.

25 Christine 02.23.09 at 12:40 am

Aww, puppy butts are the cutest kind of butts.

26 dia 02.23.09 at 1:17 am

I’m a library page, and if our bookends were nearly this cute, I might be excited to go to work!

34 SaintStryfe 02.23.09 at 5:05 am

37 Katie 02.23.09 at 6:03 am

Obvy, these guys are named War and Peace.

Or as interpreted by the CO crowd, SHMWAAAAAH! and FWAWAWAH! Snuggly wuggly puppies!

38 Hon Glad 02.23.09 at 6:56 am

By the look of that worthy tome, I’d soon be joining in the ZZZ’s.

39 Raemie L. 02.23.09 at 7:57 am

Would two puppeh bookends would motivate me to read that book? I’d like to think so. :> Also, add a 6 year old adding imaginative quips…

40 berthaservant 02.23.09 at 7:57 am

I just want to say I love books that have spines like that. I grew up with them on my shelves (not war books, my parents were into fiction).

And I seem to also love puppies when they are sleeping.

So, therefore, ergo, this picture is what the kids call a “win.”

P.S. OMG IWENTTOTHEOSCARS okayi’mfinenow

41 Raemie L. 02.23.09 at 9:28 am

*sigh* Scratch the 2nd “would” in my comment.

42 metsakins 02.23.09 at 1:21 pm

I understand about the dangling foot and tail, but why oh why has no one mentioned the bit of brown puppeh tummeh peeking out to give us just a glimpse of the wonders of puppeh tummeh!

momof – please kees the newest addition’s tummeh for me.

berthas – lucky you!

43 NT Mel 02.23.09 at 1:26 pm

Yeah b-serv! I’m sure it was more exciting than pupsters’ book. No honk-shu-ing in the presence of Brangelina.

44 ariel 02.23.09 at 1:31 pm

man, that is some kind of belleh there

45 momof2kittiesandapuppeh 02.23.09 at 1:41 pm

Thanks you guys!

As this is my first ever venture into puppehworld, I am learning all kinds of new things. Like how much they cry. And how loud that crying can be. And that puppehs are made up of 99% pee. And how cute they are when they run with a toy in their mouth that is as big as they are.

46 momof2kittiesandapuppeh 02.23.09 at 1:42 pm

Oh, and George and Mia are doing just fine. Lots of staring at this strange looking newcomer, but almost no hissing or other aggressive behavior! So far, so good!

47 Katrina 02.23.09 at 1:54 pm

Berthaservant-and…? Come on, Peep, who had the most beautiful gown-I caught a still-shot glimpse of Marisa Tomei’s gown and wanted to fast for the rest of my life. Were there any more beautiful than that?
Was the even exciting?

48 Katrina 02.23.09 at 2:01 pm

momof- puppies are wonderful little critters. When it grows up you will have a permanent two year old in your home. Just smart enough to get into trouble and not listen to whatever you say.
Yes, pee is the word for the days and crying for cuddles are the word for night.
Killer Corgi sleeps on the floor next to our bed-a good compromise, especially if said puppy will be a big doggie-doggie. Killer does sleep on our bed when we are watching tv, or if I need to be in bed feeling icky, but when bed time comes, Killer’s Daddy places her carefully on her bed and says ‘night-nights doggie.’ After a while when your poochie wakes up in the middle of the night you can say ‘night-nites doggie’ and poochie will go back to his/her bed and go back to sleep. At least it works for us. Enjoy the puppy stage, it goes alllll too quickly! Best wishes to you and your household.

49 Boomer's Babysitter 02.23.09 at 10:12 pm

I’m definitely going to have to ask for advice when it comes time to get my own puppy… The peeps here are so knowledgeable! I just take care of a permanent 2-year old, dear ol’ 8-year-old Boomer. When I’m lucky.

50 zeldapie 02.23.09 at 10:30 pm

OMG! Tubby tocks and peenk toeses!!!!!!

53 Christy 02.28.09 at 2:48 am

Oh and these are Chihuahuas, not Labs!
