CoffeeCup, I think they’re going to do what my friend calls a “nose-dot,” which is how all friendly furbabies say hello. But if they ARE going to fight, they better watch out for the cacti…=)
I think they’re heading for a brief mutual grooming of love which will then rapidly dissolve into a fur flying death match of love… its amazing how quickly kitties can go from “I will leek you” to “I will keel you” and back again.
I just adopted my very first cat on my own. She’s walking around my apartment and getting to know the layout. She’s been purring pretty regularly, so I think she’s happy. I just need the perfect name for her now.
And she’s now rubbing against my laptop monitor. I think she feels at home already.
thedistractor-congratulations! Best wishes to you and to your as-yet-nameless-animal companion!
scoobie- take it slowly,it can be daunting, but once all the pieces come together, you’ll know!
quinn- She’s a grey on grey tabby. Very pretty and sweet. I like names that reference movies or books, so I’m thinking something like Ripley (though my cat is much too sweet for that). Any ideas?
We only has this moment together for tomorrow i is leaving to fight in zee cat revoluutione. Zee way zee light from the sunbeam hits ur fur, she hold me here one more meoment. I must leaves you now, keesses!
Maybe I’m just unromantic, but the look on the black ‘n’ white’s face seems to be saying, “This is MY sunny windowsill, Stripeface. Now beat it before toss you into the cactus patch.”
jasmine nose dots me all the time. it’s part of the game we have called ‘nose’.
um. what can i say? we have all kinds of games, most of them far more complicated than ‘nose’.
the best thing she does and she invented this one: at night when i retire, she jumps up and lies next to me so i can pet her tummy, which soothes me and sorta puts me to sleep, along with her purring. when my hand stops and i get all limp, as in fall asleep, she carefully extricates herself and quietly leaves.
Aww, Wannadance. Very shweet. I used to spoon with my sweet Stinky, who cuddled against my stomach, and purr me to sleep. If I turned over, he would climb over my body to get back into proper position.
If anyone in the house lay down during the day, Stinky would be there to snuggle with him/her. The motto was “Lie Down, Win a Cat.”
My boys would always start of sweet. One would groom the other and the one being groomed would move his head around and love it. Then the groomer would bite, and a huge throw-down would follow, everytime.
@ Theresa — what IS it with cats and bathroom behavior, anyhow? Since I have two tuxies and one all-black cat, for me it feels like I’m being interrogated by the men-in-black . . . “oh, you’re just going to pee, eh? Likely story. You can’t put any funny business past us, sistah!” I swear, someday I’m going to get them each some little Ray-Bans.
Desdemona, I always figured mine just have me trapped there. They say “Aha! we have her trapped!” And one says, “She must pet me,” and the other says “I must sit in her pants.”
Oh, the obligations of the kittehs, such sacrifices they make for my comfort! Sleeping assignments: Baby must sleep in the curve of my side, Chloe sleeps behind my feet, Charlie sleeps behind my calves (a careful distance upstream from Chloe), Helen goes behind my thighs making biscuits and Daniel wedges in where needed. All this for a nap on the couch!
my last kitty, dearest violet, had babies and she hauled those bebbehs EVER’WHAR i went. so if i went to bathroom, she would rush around hauling four kittens in, deposit them at my feet.
when my kids were toddlers I would hide in the bathroom while my hubby took care of the kids. I would put on the fan so I could pretend not to hear them.
” go see daddy.
daddys on duty “
Thought those days were over, sigh– now its either the cats or the dog outside the door.
as for getting chores done, as when my kids were little
i’m well supervised. lol
but i also feel well loved (even when feeling annoyed)
and much blessed.
My kittehs follow me to the bathroom too. After flushing, they jump up, watch the water swirl, and drink. Eeewwww, gross I know. I guess they like the really cold water.
Me, too. He was very special. But the family to who I gave him was wonderful an I am sure that he had a wonderful, full and enriched life.
Now I am exclusively a dog person, because of family allergies. My fabulous Killer Corgi is also a wonderful companion and she doesn’t make anyone sneeze. Although I do stock up on those sticky-roller thingys by the multiple packs. Fur is fur. A lot of fur is a lot of fur. I could have knit an Afghan by now–hahahaha. Thanks, scoobie.
Am I the only one who thought maybe a fight was going to ensue?
Sunbleans–er, beams.
Happy BLEEN… err, Valentines Day!!11
CoffeeCup, I think they’re going to do what my friend calls a “nose-dot,” which is how all friendly furbabies say hello. But if they ARE going to fight, they better watch out for the cacti…=)
yikes–stay away from the cacti!!
Oh, well…
Kitteh on the left is actually saying, “this is MY sunbeam!” Discussion of ownership of sunbeam ensues in 3, 2, 1 . . .
I think they’re heading for a brief mutual grooming of love which will then rapidly dissolve into a fur flying death match of love… its amazing how quickly kitties can go from “I will leek you” to “I will keel you” and back again.
Wow I was going to submit the kiss photo but didn’t get around to it!
I did submit this – the same cats in a heart shape

I love it when the kitties do cocktail-party air-kisses. There is a feral colony near my house that always does that.
Meg, do you happen to like Deee-Lite?
They have (had) a song incidentally called “Pussycat Meow”…
Now that I think about it, the one on the left I gather is Lady Miss Kier, and on the right is dj Dmitry.

(mustering up of courage)
Wow, scoobie, those two cats do luv each udder!
Kitteh luv, kitteh fight
it kinda looks the same
in that shiny sun-light.
Let him chase you, girl-kitty.

@thedistractor
thats nice. I am thinking of getting a new cat but the settling in thing, and making the right choice is a little daunting
thedistractor-congratulations! Best wishes to you and to your as-yet-nameless-animal companion!
scoobie- take it slowly,it can be daunting, but once all the pieces come together, you’ll know!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Peeps!

Happy Valentine’s Day, all you cat-loving peeps !
Snorgleday.

[YAY ELECTRIC COMPANY! - Ed.]
This looks more like “Chavez vs. Mayweather”..to go mano a mano!
Happy Valentines Day to all
you pet-fanciers! Also Happy Caturday.

i had thought the cacti were actually outside, far away in the garden
fooled by too much cuteness. but i wouldnt trust the brown cat though
hey Meg, PUNCHBUGGY!!!! WOOOOHOO!!!!!!!
The cat on the left looks like Gary Sinise.
Josh N-wow, what a beautiful pair of kittehs! You are a lucky Josh N!
HeatherinOregonwiththesevenbaby kittens-ooooooooooooooooo! Got any pictures to share?
Feezie… ummmm… sure, and the cat on the right looks like Kevin Bacon.
“Punch-buggy”??!! Hehehehe
Maybe I’m just unromantic, but the look on the black ‘n’ white’s face seems to be saying, “This is MY sunny windowsill, Stripeface. Now beat it before toss you into the cactus patch.”
awwwww, nose – dot!
jasmine nose dots me all the time. it’s part of the game we have called ‘nose’.

her job is done for that night.

lie down, win a cat!!!
man, teresa, i just love that…
It’s not the only motto around here, with the cats. Another one is “You’ll Never Pee Alone.” All trips to the bathroom are escorted.
Um.. I think those are two boy kettahs..
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
SOOO CUUTTTEEEEEEEEEEE! i want to kiss tooo!
My boys would always start of sweet. One would groom the other and the one being groomed would move his head around and love it. Then the groomer would bite, and a huge throw-down would follow, everytime.

PS You should see doing laundry around here. It’s a friggin’ parade.
@wannadance, Theresa, Desdemona: LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

if i lay down to read, bam, kittens on my chest.
she was a tad neurotic.
@thedistractor — Dorian?
I’m just thrilled at the “Sixteen Candles” reference in the hover text.
(cueing Thompson Twins’ “If You Were Here”)
my hubbys response to picture-
” oh no!look out, cats are conspiring. we see cactus,we see dog,we have plans!”
evil laughter from kitties.
when my kids were toddlers I would hide in the bathroom while my hubby took care of the kids. I would put on the fan so I could pretend not to hear them.
” go see daddy.
daddys on duty “
Thought those days were over, sigh– now its either the cats or the dog outside the door.

I will out stare you.
No, I will out stare you.
No, I will outstare you.
No, I will…..
“Well, make a wish, Cat-mantha!”
“It already came true…”
I miss my Truffle even more now – he always gave noses and side-of-the-face snuggles whenever I came home.
Even after I had to give him to a new forever home, he remembered years later when I went to visit. What a puuddy- I miss him greatly.
thedistractor-how about ‘Frederick’ as a nice name for your cat?
My kittehs follow me to the bathroom too. After flushing, they jump up, watch the water swirl, and drink. Eeewwww, gross I know. I guess they like the really cold water.
@katrina
I am very sorry you had to give up your cat
@ thedistractor: If I ever adopt another female kitty, I will probably name her Willa (as in Cather). Perfect for a little gray tabby!
Me, too. He was very special. But the family to who I gave him was wonderful an I am sure that he had a wonderful, full and enriched life.
Now I am exclusively a dog person, because of family allergies. My fabulous Killer Corgi is also a wonderful companion and she doesn’t make anyone sneeze. “whom”-and I preach and I preach and I blow it. I hate typing.
