Soon he’ll be dyeing his hair blue, piercing things you don’t want to know about, and dating a girl named Slash. Ahhh, youth!

12 Jess 02.01.09 at 12:16 am

13 Aly 02.01.09 at 12:17 am

Haha, that is so cute! The mum looks like she’s just as fed up as the baby, lol.

Btw, this is one of the most adorable sites I’ve ever come across…I’ve been reading some of your back entries too (loved the Poirot/Salvador Dali kitten!) and I’m going to read more now…great job folks! :)

18 Mary C. Schaefer 02.01.09 at 1:04 am

the puffier fur below mom’s knees make her look like she has llama-loons

19 Stephanie C. 02.01.09 at 1:08 am

Maybe they’ve entered that stage because the little one suddenly realized it would have a lifetime of teasing ahead of it because of the name “Guthlac”.

Kids, er crias(?), can be so cruel.

20 Juniper Jupiter 02.01.09 at 1:25 am

OMG OMG OMG!!!

Drama llama mamas!!! XD!!

21 Nik 02.01.09 at 1:38 am

Mama Llama has such an adorablly round head!

22 Annie J 02.01.09 at 1:50 am

Speaking of llamas, what’s the difference between llamas and alpacas?

23 deg 02.01.09 at 1:52 am

Ummmm, I think they’re alpacas. Llamas have banana ears and they’re bigger. But I often confuse the two without a size reference.

(takes off nerd glasses) WANT. WANT. WANT. WANT.

24 TroutMom 02.01.09 at 2:08 am

Are either of these actually real? I’m convinced one if not both are stuffed. Re-donk.

25 skip 02.01.09 at 2:14 am

Hahaha, Jupiter!

That is some serious fluffage going on there.

This is kinda silly, but the mama llama – or alpaca, depending – reminds me of someone I know. The BIG HAIR, slightly knock-kneed, fed-up look… Only her son is 18 and bigger than she is. I gotta forward this to her! Or, maybe not…

mum defo looks like an alpaca to me, they have more of the pffsmoosh head going on

33 Meaghan 02.01.09 at 2:57 am

That baby llama looks like it’s really a stuffed animal. It looks like it should be following Marry Had A Little Lamb everywhere she goes.

34 Rayna 02.01.09 at 3:14 am

Alpacas and llamas are cousins from different regions. There are also guanacos and vicunas, but they’re like long lost cousins because they’re rarely kept as pets being much rarer. Alpacas are typically kept as pets and fiber animals because their fleece is SO scrumptiously soft and lovely to spin. Llamas are typically kept as pets too, but are used often as guard animals for sheep and goats, they have a more agressive nature towards attackers. Then there’s the banana ears as someone mentioned w/ llamas, but not all llamas have banana ears and not all llamas are very large. They’re creating mini llamas now and the alpaca/llama bloodlines do get mixed. So to insure you’re really getting a purebred llama or alpaca, it’s best to get one with a pedigree. Also, pedigreed llamas usually start around $500-2000, while pedigreed alpacas start at about $5000-10,000. :)

One of my fave animals, alpacas. They are WONDERFULLY soft when spun into yarn (that is, their fleece is…)

36 totalee puppy 02.01.09 at 4:43 am

I’m *ded* of cute…Please remember me to your local
animal shelter.

37 claudia 02.01.09 at 4:43 am

I swear that’s me and my three year old… lol
no she doesn’t play rockband

I just got an unfortunate haircut so even the hair matches! lol

38 Lakia 02.01.09 at 5:13 am

So soft, so floofy, so knobbular.

Just to clarify, these are definately alpacas NOT llamas

39 Jewelia 02.01.09 at 5:26 am

Gosh, Napoleon go feed the Alpacas.

40 Elise 02.01.09 at 7:05 am

After reading the comments I understand they are alpacas but I wanted to say “Is Your Mama a Llama”!

Drama Llama Momma!

42 N 02.01.09 at 3:37 pm

Alpaca babies are the cutest babies in the entire world. Period. Ever. They are always cute. I squeel every time I see an alpaca baby and I lived on an alpaca farm for a year. So so so so cute.

43 Aelfwyn 02.01.09 at 3:56 pm

Guthlac? I didn’t know anyone else knew that name! St.Guthlac’s day is April 11th (I know this because it’s my birthday). Apparently s/he was an Anglo-Saxon martyr from East Anglia. Before being reincarnated as an alpaca, obvy.

44 Hon Glad 02.01.09 at 4:19 pm

Alpaca an Ilamma in my pyjamas.

45 deg 02.01.09 at 5:25 pm

@Aelfwyn, Guthlac was a guy (medieval historian here) but that’s all I know.

46 berthaservant 02.02.09 at 2:43 am

I’m gonna ride my llama…

Love mom’s hairdo, too. Very, very prosh.

47 aries1 02.02.09 at 9:13 pm
