They actually can close their eyes, but they cannot move them! They are like owls that way, so because of their fixed eyes, they have to move their whole head. Seriously cool little critters.
And may I say, that is the sweetest little pair of hands and cutest tongue to go with those eyes! I’ve melted into a pile of goo…

I have to admit, I had never considered poisonous elbows for my list of unattractive traits that an otherwise-adorable-looking-critter could have.
I am convinced that this little critter should be protected waaaaaaaay over there somewhere. Where ever it wants to live is fine by me, I’m sure it isn’t Connecticut! Poisonous elbows-I have now heard it all. You can’t even tickle the darned thing! Feh. Leave it in it’s forest or jungle or environment of choice. Waaay over there in Indonesia!!

Cute, yes. Unfortunately those big beautiful eyes (read: NOCTURNAL animal) make these little guys hot commodities in the illegal pet trade. Not to mention, their eyes are used for “traditional” medicine… Their numbers in the wild are not well known.
