Cute Overload :D
But before he does, admire the eye capsules on this Slow Loris eating fruits.
Via StupidVideos. And NTMTOM’s eagle eyes. :D
“Slow Loris” sounds like a “punk”-pop band from the mid-90s that would have opened up for Blink 182. Or should I say, Bleen 182.
Aaaaaawwww. I want one.
“What there’s no more?!?! Guess I will just have to lick my fingers then”
OH! EM! GEE!!!
This little guy/girl is real?! From where? Ok, ok, I’ll go Google & find out once my own eyes pop back into my head. (Pause at :27 and you’ll do nothing else all day buy gaze into Loris’s eyes!).
Talk about “anime eyes”…
The poor thing can’t blink, right? How does it keep those huge eyeballs moist?
“Please sir, may I have some more?”
One of the most aptly named animals. Evar!
Those pleading eyes! All I can think of is “Please sir. More slop!”
“Please, sir, may I have some more?” (Say in best Oliver Twist voice.)
Totally “Please suh, I want some more.”
Finger licking good stuff there! I love the delicate finger claspings going on there too. Loris FTW!
So dainty! So prosh!
It’s not slow.
It’s just challenged.
Who knew watching this big eyed cutie eat fruit would have me riveted to the screen? It’s as much fun as watching my mom’s cat eat a bit of sardine!
This animal does not poop or pee or annoy or get where it shouldn’t. It does not Luurkensproing. It does not scratch. It is perfect. Those beseeching eyes are just too much for me…
He looks like Wall-E, except furry and mammalian and fructivorous.
Is there a speedy loris?
It’s like a big-eyed painting come to life! Too cute!
Slow Loris’ have poisonous saliva. its true
Too much QtE! The eyes, the tongue, the Princess Di stare, the widdle hands!
“I’m so cute I can’t stand it myself”. The soulful eyes ! the extended paws ! The froot eatingk ! More froot ! Where ? Where ?
(Definitely the Oliver T. of the animal kingdom. “Please, sir ?”)
oh omg! AWWWWWEE! I need to rub its belly!
I dunno if I’d call him slow. Cautious, maybe. Or careful. Yep, the Careful Loris.
He/She would make a cute twisted whiskers card!
Taking the Beady Eye Factor a little too far there aren’t we, Mr. Loris?
It can scratch all it wants, but it will haf to leave my eyes so I can stare at it all day.
Josh Leo: Slow Loris’ have poisonous saliva. its true
Gives a whole new meaning to “I shall Leeck You!”
omg i just died.
remember those big, sad-eyed paintings from the 60’s? thats what this little fella reminded me of.
Aaack! I lofs the lorises… (or is it lorii?) Lof how the hands still holding the posishe, as if he can’t believe the fruit is all gone. “Why is the fruit always gone??”
The eyes! The eyes!
Jen, They were the Precious Moments.
Cannot resist. Big. Sad. Eyes.
The slow loris now owns my soul and all of my snacks.
Get this (from wikipedia): It can catch prey by licking a toxin that is released from the inside of its elbows and delivering the toxin via its teeth.
Poisonous ELBOWS. Beware.
S/he looks right into your soul with those ginormous eyes!! OMG, I’M NOT WORTHY!!
My, what big eyes you have…
makes a pug look insincere.
i had to watch it twice checking to make sure it never blinked … but i can’t be sure because i had a fit of sympathetic blinking …
I think Jen means Margaret Keane’s paintings.
I WUVS HEEM!!!! *glomps the loris* I found myself leaning toward the screen, my own eyes wide to the point it hurt mah forehead. Too cute. gah!!!
I love how he reeeeeaches over the edge at the end!
LOL Von Zeppelin that’s EXACTLY what I was thinking.
They weren’t kiddin’ when they said slow! ;) He looks so sad, until he lifts his little head up to lick his leeps, then you can see he is smilink. Mangos make me smilink too.
It actually kinda creeped me out with the major nonblinkiness. I feel like it looks worried. >.>
Check this out for true cuteness…now with more Aqua
They actually can close their eyes, but they cannot move them! They are like owls that way, so because of their fixed eyes, they have to move their whole head. Seriously cool little critters.
And may I say, that is the sweetest little pair of hands and cutest tongue to go with those eyes! I’ve melted into a pile of goo…
I just died.
WANT! Must have eet!
Reminds me of the baby lemur from Madagascar, with the beeeeeeg eyes
Ah, the education never ends here!!! I have *never* seen one of those before…..it is SOOOOO cute! The little handsies! Squeeeeee!!!!!!
leeky leeeky the leeps
leeky leeeky the hands
come here little loris, I shall pop you in my pocket and feed you bits of fruit all day!
As I watched it eat its fruit I thought “OH PLEEEEZE, let it lick its leetle chops” and then it DID! I agree with what they said – I want eet, I want to kees on eet …. oh, and I wanna go get it some MORE nomming fruits, pleeeze.
That’s a world peace maker, right there. What a great little guy. I’m going to look at him whenever I feel aggro.
[hrumph] Please cease and desist from referring to our client, Mr. Lancelot Oris, as “slow”. While he may not appear to be as smart as some other things, the epithet “slow” has negative connotations which have impacted our client’s ability to pursue his chosen career as a minicab driver.
We should caution that failure to cease and desist forthwith will result in legal measures being taken against you, your friends, your family, and any kittens that you may have in your vicinity.

OMG! Those pleading eyes. I’ve watched this thing 5 times already. I NEED one. Squuueeeeeeeeeeee!
would make a fab velvet painting, someone whip some up for us please?
and we shall purchase them.
i think its eating mango, sticky stuff, no wonder the fingers needed licking after the feasting.
its just so very adorable and innocent looking.
Earth Angel came up in the shuffle of my Itunes when I saw this vid! how perfect is that?? He’s such an angel!
Does ANYone really need to be able to SEE THAT MUCH?! Jeez!
Aren’t they nocturnal? I wonder if the bright light in the room bothered it… Or am I thinking of another creature?
That thing looks like the Tailypo! *shudder*
I can haz ‘nuther piece?
OMG! Did you see how her ears wiggle when she chews! Aaawwwwwww…..
Gah! GAHHHHH! The TONGUE, people! The little pink licky TONGUE!
@Boomer’s, yes, they are nocturnal, which is why their eyes are so huge.
It’s a Squilililigee!
Gecch – kind of cute, but also kind of creepy, in a Japanese-moody-horror-movie-monster way.
Wow, its eyes are big enough already; it doesn’t need the makeup to make them look bigger! ;D
i hate to say this, but it kinda creeps me out….can someone say “Sleestak”?
Quite the Eye:Tongue ratio there.
B.Serv: I’m pretty sure Slow Loris opened for the Pixies at the 40 Watt in 1994.
He’s cute! But weird. Almost looks like a cartoon character with those giant eyes.
I’m with h.w., oblivia and libo… S’Loris skeered me a little. ::runs and hides from oncoming backlash::
That is the most gentle, relaxing nomming I have ever seen. I should eat so gracefully.
I agree with Von Zeppelin – he totally looks like Wall-E, what with the gigantic sad eyes and pathetic stance. Awwww :)
That thing is giving me a 70’s flashback.
Did he used to pose for posters of crying, large-eyed children holding flowers? Maybe sad puppy mugshots?
I am a long time reader, first time commenter… I just wanted to say that your blog represents all that is good about this world. This is where I go on the internet when I’m angry or upset and I always feel so much better. I swear, cute things could save the world.
Adorable/creepy…kind of like a tarsier, another kind of (creepily) giant-eyed primate. Ooh, which reminds me – this guy should be tagged as “Primates” too!
SQUEEET! They are nocturnal animals, so despite being in India I’ve never seen one! :(
Why is he so sad? He’s making me sad too! I will do nothing but feed him mangoes and snuggle him until he cheers up! PS, kinda looks like one of the furry monsters from Bone, but in a good way :D
I LOVE Loris! How is it that this planet is full of spectacular little creatures like this?? I found myself staring without blinking because I could not believe such squeeness exists.
these poor things are endangered
Fake. That is totally animatronic.
With all that fruit imagine the squitty poo.
I thought I was ded when I saw him nomming the fruit.
Then I really thought I was ded when he looked directly at the camera.
Then I was omg ded-ing when he licked his nosey WHILE looking at the camera.
And then I realized I was ded when he was licking his palms to find the flavorrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Awwwwwwwwwwwww! So cute.
But he does have the same googly eyes as the “baby” alien in the movie “Alien Resurrection” who would just as happily rip you to pieces…. ;O
Where do I send the money? He’s ripping my heart out with them humble eyes…
I lof that little skillet face!
OMG this video of the Slow Loris took my breath away.
What soulful eyes! I loved how carefully he ate his fruit. And then when finished how dainty-ly he licked his chops and fingers with pink tongue.
What a special treat to see this lovely animal. Thanks C.O.!
I have to admit, I had never considered poisonous elbows for my list of unattractive traits that an otherwise-adorable-looking-critter could have.
I am convinced that this little critter should be protected waaaaaaaay over there somewhere. Where ever it wants to live is fine by me, I’m sure it isn’t Connecticut! Poisonous elbows-I have now heard it all. You can’t even tickle the darned thing! Feh. Leave it in it’s forest or jungle or environment of choice. Waaay over there in Indonesia!!
….okies, lemme see if gots this strait ….first, this preshie hypnotizes it prey w/it’s soulful, pleading stare that says “pleaze stops movink so i’s can eat you”, then it licks it most adorable elbows, then it licks or bites it’s prey and gives it a hit of the poison it has just liberated from it’s elbows…
Why do I instinctively say, “Aww, poor thing” when I look at this leetle booger? He’s eating fruit, looks reasonably happy. It must be his smudgy Robert Smith makeup.
I likes to move it move it
om nom nom nom
you never forget your first
Nicely done, Blair.
They are relatives of the lemurs. You can find out more and see awesome pictures here: http://lemur.duke.edu/
Now now for a great faux Shakespearean insult:
“I lick my elbows at you Sir!”
Then there is the tour group host:
Move along people, they are slow, just keep on moving, you won’t be in any danger-just don’t let it lick youraaaaaaaaaaaaacccckkk!
omg – nothing but ginormous eyeballs and a little pink tongue! Too bad he secretes poison from the elbows, which is just downright odd.
Isn’t that the dog from the original battlestar galactica?
I will name this beautiful slow loris “Oliver” because it perpetually looks like it’s saying “Please sir, may I have some more?”
The Slow Loris. A definite cousin of Man, created by Bob Keane.
OMG I musht have one!
Neener – I was about to post the same thing, but you beat me to it. Totally animatronic!!!
Iiiiiis thhiiiiissss Llllloooorrrrisssss bbbbbbeeeiiiiing hhhhhaaaaannndddd rrrrreeeeeaaaaarrrreeeeedddd? (sorry, had to slow down my typing to match his speed)
P.S. I think Careful Loris was a good choice, however given the poison elbows, perhaps we should be Careful!
AWWWW!!! So unbelievably cute!!! Turns me into mush!
OOOoooohhhhheeeeeeesquuuueeeeeee!! Awwwwnnnn what an anerable prosh bebeh with those big eyes and little tongue and nibbling the fruit!! (Deep breaths!!)
well, i tried. gawd KNOWS i tried…but i just cannot luv this varmint.
i think it is um, how you say, ugly and scary.
so sue me!
OMG!!! SOOOOOOOOOOO cute!! I love those dainty hands and those beeeeeeeeeeg eyes! And the way he eats his treat with such gusto!
He awfully keyute!!!
In a big-eyed-animal-velvet-painting kind of way, even!
Not particularly “slow” though.
Me wants one!
I want to give him more.
I truly bit my fingers, but it didn’t help… I still went “eeeep!” aloud. Thank god I’m alone.
aaaand now I’m late for a meeting..
I lof heem such beeg eyes!
Cute, yes. Unfortunately those big beautiful eyes (read: NOCTURNAL animal) make these little guys hot commodities in the illegal pet trade. Not to mention, their eyes are used for “traditional” medicine… Their numbers in the wild are not well known. I think information is a good thing, so please check out: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6731631.stm and get involved in animal conservation efforts if you want these guys to still be around in the future. For some nice vid’s of lorises in their natural state, check out: http://www.arkive.org/slender-lorises/loris-tardigradus-and-loris-lydekkerianus/
OMGoodness!! I think I just died from cuteness overdose!!!!
OMFG. I admit it; that thing is cute. But it’s also REALLY FREAKY.
omg this is the cutest thing ive seen on here in a long time. My hearts aching looking at the wee thing. So much for being desensitized to the cute. ;)
Loris is my middle name…awkward…
this little thiing reminds me of something
