This House Looks So Familiar…

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I just know I’ve seen this house before …

… oh yeah, now I remember:

  1. berthaservant says:

That e-scher does look familiar, NTMTOM.

  2. berthaservant says:

P.S. The human laugh is the icing on the delish upside-down kitteh cake.

  3. [cue Bowie]

  4. Sprinkles says:

M.C. Escher in the house! Woot! That cat is an acrobat!

  5. ha! i love this kitty!

  6. Cats defy convention.

  7. Kristabelle says:

Kitty is training for Rocky MCMXLVIII…

  8. Oh, the perfect jungle gym for kittehs. Wish I could put that up for them, but I live in an apaht-ment. Nothing like the Escher drawing.

  9. Escher, that’s my mazey, no sir I don’t mean crazy!

  10. Its eshercat. Able to climb the bottoms of stairways in a single bound!

  11. Sure, it’s all fun until one dark, spooky night, you’re going down the stairs and something reaches out and grabs you, making you pee in your jammies.

[‘specially if we’re talking about YOUR cats… – Ed.]

  12. oh thats so cute. silly kitty!!

  13. Same kitten, discovering the underside of a table.

  14. Bwahaha@pyrit!!

  15. scooterpants says:

    amazing upper body strength!
i used to love the ‘stairs’ picture when i was younger, now it just kinda makes me nauseous

  16. Wackadoodle cat!

  17. Hmm, just checked the video notes over at YouTube, and I guess I ain’t the only one who sees David Bowie in this. Oh, and Jennifer Connelly, when she was but wee.

  18. Gravity-defying cat defies gravity…

  19. Well, there’s gotta be at least one nonconformist in the bunch. Nothing like climbing up the bottom of the staircase!

  20. Doxylover79 says:

    I am so confused.

  21. Yitzysmommie says:

AAIIIEEE – this kitten looks like Yitzy – back when he was little & did silly kitten things. Fun videos.

  22. @Redzilla – my crazy cat who hated the wire hanger, had a habit of doing sneak attacks at night. I was living in a house then, and when bedtime rolled around, I would turn off all the lights and head upstairs. Without fail, my cat would come barreling out of nowhere as I started to climb the stairs, and grab onto my calves. He wouldn’t do anything but hang on to your calves, but if you ignored him and tried to walk up anyway, he would nibble you.

  23. LibrarianJessica says:

I’m having one of those moments when I wish I were Dr. Doolittle. Wanna ask, “why?”

  24. Michelle S. says:

    Awesome! 😀

  25. ButtaRumCake says:

@ chanpon – my cat, Tika (RIP), used to smack me in the forehead as I walked past the fridge (the restroom was off the kitchen) on my 3am potty-trots…scared the bejeebers outta me every time LOL

  26. Thank you!!! I love Escher’s works!

  27. My video skills will never be Cute Overload quality, but I would like to share my baby kitteh with everyone!

  28. @LibrarianJessica – Because I can…

    besides, why not?

  29. Aww… firepikachu, Percy is a doll! What fun.

By the way, have you ever let Percy play with an ice cube on the kitchen floor? I used to do that with our kittens and they had a blast! Kitteh hockey!

  30. Sounds like a fun idea!
I just had to share him with others. I’m 24 and he is my first baby! His ruff keeps getting longer and I could snorgle him all day!

  31. victoreia says:

    @Theo – Yes! Labyrinth reference!

  32. So, there’s Ceiling Cat, there’s Basement Cat, and now, for the Nonconformists, we have Stairs Cat.
(Nonconformist Cat sez no to dogma, climbs Stairway to Shiva, sings I Did It My Way, OK, OK.)

  33. Sounds like a great idea! I just had to share him with others because I’m 24 and he is my first baby! His ruff keeps getting longer and I could snorgle him all day!

(Second try at this comment, so if it shows up twice-sorry!)

  34. Labyrinth..yay! “You have no power over me!” {not exactly true as kitties do have a tremendous power over me}

    LibrarianJessica….”It’s more fun this way!”

  35. ThreeCatNight says:

Kitteh has obviously been to Stealth Bootcamp, and was showing just one of his maneuvers for his undercover work. Or — the catnip really worked overtime!

  36. the laugh at the end made it even better! what a talented kitty!

  37. Gail (the first one) says:

@firepikachu: Such a cutie!!!!!! And I thought it was a great job on the video!

  38. Heh… Proof that cats are not subject to the same laws of physics that we mere mortals are!
spb – I put ice cubes in the cats’ water bowl and then sit back and watch Decibel try to get the “white goldfish” without getting his paws wet. Too funny!

  39. I agree with Desiree: the laugh at the end makes it better!!

  40. LibrarianJessica says:

sbp & Noelle – Were it my feline, the answer would probably be: “To once again prove that cats are cooler than humans.”

  41. Catrobatics!

  42. I grant your David Bowie, but wouldn’t the Mission IMpossible theme song be a better addition to this vid?

  43. Heh, that’d be Lalo Schifrin. Certainly.

  44. Theo-

Cute Overload AND a Labyrinth reference? Sheesh, the cool just doesn’t stop! Although it reminds me how crazy she was to pick the screaming kid over David Bowie. A headscratcher to this day.

[She realized that the Goblin King was her own runaway imagination, while family is real. It’s a coming-of-age Muppet movie… – Ed.]

  45. AuntieMame says:

LOL at Percy, firepikachu. I kept waiting for his kitteh bukkit to slide off the back of the couch.

  46. “…and she’s climbing a stairway to heaven…” *guitar riff*

  47. Redzilla ROFL “something reaches out and grabs you”

  48. Superchuckholly says:

Ahhh that picture was on my calendar in 2008! I didn’t know anyone else knew about that!

  49. @Theo

Naw, I’d still ditch the fam for Bowie. 🙂

  50. Thanks everyone who enjoyed watching my baby! Percy is my life…I’m a total cat lady.

As for the other posts, Bowie is a FAVORITE of mine!! I had my dorm room 3 years ago covered with his posters. Born in 1985, but should have been a 70’s girl.

  51. binky-mama says:

Grabbity? I dun’t need no steenkin’ grabbity.

  52. binky-mama-oh, yes *snerk*

Now, are we discussing “luurkensproinging” behavior? Let’s review for our new Peeps! That is when…

Thank the Ceiling Cat Killer does not do that, but she gets the first prize for getting in the way when it is the most rushed around here. A true speed bump.

I love the kitteh hanging by his/her claws!

  53. Re: Labyrinth as coming-of-age Muppet movie

I never thought of it that way, but you’re right. She chooses to grow up and put away childish things. However, she does hold on to some of the child in her by saying that she needs them every now and then. Proves my favorite quote “What’s the point of growing up if you can’t act like a kid once in a while?”

Proven time and again on this site. Yay for CO’s big kids!

  54. This is why I love kitties! I can’t wait to see what bizarre quirks my next kitty comes up with!
