If you are unsure whether the defendant/respondent has been served, if your state uses Vinelink protective order, you can register to be notified by phone or email when he gets served.
https://www.vinelink.com/vinelink/initMap.do and then click on your state, go to the “protective order” section.

I love this service where available (I’m a Domestic Violence Advocate/ Attorney), because the time after a respondent has been served with the Order can be dangerous.

Silent Meow- Congratulations on overcoming that bully by using the support systems available. Yes, he deserves his just desserts. I am very proud to be your friend. I really hate DV, I lived it for 18 years in my own home of origin. Nobody can take your right to safety away, nobody! Keep safe, keep sharing! Anyone else who has an abusive relationship- there are ways out where you (and kids) are safe. End the destructive behavior and you will be a happier healthier person for it and so will the kids!
