  7. Awhn! Poor mr kitty. He looks like a furry popsical

  8. Mostly sad. Hardly cute.

  9. Janet in Cambridge says:

Poor, sweet thing. You’re much to young to be all wrapped up in Vet-Wrap. What did you do to yourself?

  10. Poor babbeh!!!

  11. orangecandies says:

Bahaha, it’s so stiff and cute.

  12. oh my goodness. poor little guy. i wanna nibble on those little pink toe bubbles.

  13. Get that kitteh a little bitty broken arm pillow to rest on already!

  14. He went dataway?

  15. kitty leeps!! <3
Poor ickle bickle… It’d be cute if all his kitty friends signed the cast with their pawprints!!!

  16. the one good thing about this is that someone obviously cared enough about this kitty to get it all wrapped up and safe! this means he’ll get betters!
my Rx: 400 mg snorgle, 5-6 times a day as needed!

  17. Try Ahhhh-Ouch!

Yikes. Poor little fella. Love how it matches her/his lipstick though. So curious to know how it happened. Those legsies are super delicate.

  18. Sad and cute. The kitty has owners who take good care of him, though – that’s a good thing!

  19. saddest. pic. ever.

  20. Oh, the poor little muffin! What happened? SO glad this kitty had good humans who got him proper care!

  21. This is cute and sad — sleeping comfortably, tho’!

  22. Oh the poor little thing! I just want to give him his own comfy pillow and an IV of snorgling.

  23. OH! That is heartbreaking-poor little tinker! But I bet when he/she wakes up they are doing their best to tear around on that thing! Kittens cannot be stopped! I had a foster kitten who had was born with a terribly deformed leg that had to be amputated. When I picked him up after surgery I was devastated and was sure it was too much for him to bear. The next morning I was so fearful to open his little crate, and when I did he SURGED out and hasn’t stopped since! Of course I had to adopt him, and now he is Charlie Parsley-biggest terror (and love) of our 5 cats! Animals are truly amazing.

  24. Annapolitan says:

I fostered a little guy like this. He was found in the middle of a road, rolling around. He had broken his upper arm bone, either having been dumped from or been hit by a car.

The local rescue group found a vet who would donate his services and this wonderful doctor put a pin in to stabilize the fracture.

“Pierce” was in a body cast for weeks and stayed with me.

Is there anything more pathetic than a kitten in a body cast? I think not.

My little foster guy had a wonderful attitude and learned how to get around in that body cast very well. He grew up to be a splendidly handsome cat who found a forever home a few Christmases ago.

    I think of him often.

  25. Awwwww! Poor baby! It pains me to see a little orange kitty like that! I hope he at least got some good drugs out of the (or)deal.

  26. What’s the healing time for kittenette broken leggers?

I’m guessing fairly quickly, so most likely the little one will be castless very soon and able to get into all the regularly scheduled kitteh mischief. :)

  27. Aww, kitten found trouble already!

  28. OYG… this is the saddest, but cutest, thing I’ve seen in a while…

    ~Dan

  29. *Should be faxed to diplomats world-wide.*

This could be the most werld-peace-inducing image ever. War and violent conflict would be eradicated from the face of the earth if everyone considered this as a possible outcome. Injured kitties. We can’t risk it :X

  30. Gail (the first one) says:

Awwwwww!! Poor little sweetheart! Yes, I’d love to hear what happened, too. Hope the dreaded ‘Nip was not involved!

  31. awwww! =o(
Many, many, kissies for you till you get betters!

  32. AWWW what happen to da bebeh? WAHHH! Poor widdow piddow! Kiss kiss kiss….I cry.

YARGH! I have to let myself do that sos I know I humans.

  33. Poor little kitteh! I want to snuggle him. (or her)

  34. Awwwww, poor baby!! Don’t worry! Lisa is coming to the rescue!!! *throws on her cape*

  35. I love how he’s just sleeping with that thing sticking straight up in the air. There has GOT to be a better position.

  36. If there needs to be kitten nursing, I’ll volunteer! I will do it for free :o) I am a fully qualified kitteh snorgler and fuss giver x

  37. Ahnnn!

    I gasped, then Ahnnned!

  38. omg poor baybeh kitteh ouchies. get well soon little one!

    so cute.

  39. Ohhh, poor baby…I did go, “Ohhhhhhhhhhh! D:”

  40. Poor little sweetie! But still – so cute!

By the way, that little kittlet has some pretty big paws! Might not be such a little guy for long…

  41. The kitteh looks comfy and is obviously being taken care of. I think this pic is actually very sweet, not to mention the teeny spotted belleh!

  42. As I am currently healing from a mangled elbow, I can so relate to this little kitteh. I hope they’ve given him some good pain meds. I’m thinking, perhaps, a little catnip gas mask… I expect in no time he will be running about creating havoc.

  43. The cast wasn’t made extra-long so hopefully that means it won’t be on for a long time (to allow for growth). The part that gets me is that you can tell just how tiny he is by seeing how the bandage snugs in around his body. The COXCU on the face kills me!

  44. oooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….

    That’s so SAD…. sniff sniff

  45. TUMMY

  46. if ever a kitten needed to be in my arms right now it is this one

  47. Poor baby. I want to snuggle.

  48. kibblenibble says:

AmyJ: Yes, his feet DO look big! My George has big feets, and he went from 8 lbs. at age 8 months, to 14 lbs. at 10 months! And he’s still growing! This bebeh is so cute, with the pink earsies, leeps and toe beans. Hope him feels all betters soon.

  49. How sweet that kitty got took care of, and in pink! Kitty in pink!

  50. kibblenibble says:

ahem…no hovertext?…sorry, just happened to notice. I’ll be on my way now…*shuffles feet*

  51. What a precious, beautiful baby kitty but the cast makes me get all teary eyed. I pray it will heal quickly and completely. Sending tons of snuggles to the kitten.

  52. Crap, I think I’m lactating, the mothering instinct in my just shot up to 200%

    Pooooor little big pawed kitty!

  53. So cute, and so very very sad. :( I just want to give this poor little kitty belleh rubs and treats all ’til his little arm is healed..

  54. totalee puppy says:

    Could kitteh have a soft
kitteh-size memory-foam ball that straps around arm so’s he can rest that outstretched arm when napping? Guess between his arm and belly.

  55. Aesthetica says:

oh god this is both cute and sad. cute wis because kitteh will probably be fine. also, cause i want to nom on the fuzzy marmie belleh and pink paw pads.

    *sigh*

  56. OH. MY. GOD.

    *splode*

  57. Juniper Juniper says:

Meg, how DARE YOU go exploting this poor kitty for our pity! >,^.^,<

    …okay, it’s working! :P

  58. Poor little guy!

But from the look on his little sleeping face, that cast isn’t bothering him much. And he’s probably still a little terror awake, or we’d likely have a different picture. Sleeping is probably the only time he was still enough for the camera to catch him!

  59. Poor kitty, one life gone (way too young!) but still 8 more…whew!

  60. Adorable sleeping kitteh + injury = both cute *and* sad. (But mostly cute because as the first poster mentioned, they matched the cast wrapping to that cute little pink nose!)

  61. Poor Baby! I love how he’s so used to it though, enough that he can sleep so soundly! My kitty had to have his tail removed just a month ago and he’s still wearing his little kitty helmet. So cute. So sad.

  62. awww. Poor little angel (at least asleep!). Get well soon, kitty!

Yay! I got a Cute Overload calendar for X-mas and I didn’t even ask for it! How’s that for awesome!

  63. Beth (in NC) says:

    Awwwwwuuuuggggnnnnhhhhh!

  64. You should have seen what happened to the other kitty

  65. tracyFlick says:

Wait, what happened? How did it break?

  66. berthaservant says:

Kitteh not sleeping — incredibly sad and tragic.

Kitteh sleeping — he’s being taken care of and well enough to honk-shu into the night.

    Yay kitteh! Yay human caretaker!

(Suggested hovertext: I am not waving like that turtle from t’other day.)

  67. another Michelle says:

This is so cute it actually hurts.

  68. AuntieMame says:

Poor little kitting! Sleeping the sleep of the just, though.

  69. I think this kitty is going to be just fine; it looks pretty comfy even with a leg up and out (little guys sleep so hard!). In a week or so, the cast is probably going to be all dirty from being dragged around (little guys play so hard, too!). Kisses to the kitty, and Good Thoughts to her people.

  70. Am I a horrible person if I admit I chuckled a little? lol…he just looks so cute and funny with his little arm sticking out like that

And and and it’s okay to laugh a bit, we know he’s obviously being taken care of! :-)

    *huggles the kitteh*

  71. OK. Hovertextered.

  72. Nicolletta says:

    Want…to…cuddle!!

  73. I hope that’s not a boy kitty. Hobblin’ around in a pink cast? How humiliating! (What would the other boy cats say?)

  74. i shall kiss those pink leeps ever so gently and try to restrain myself from snorgling the spotted belly, but how will i resist cuddling and running off with this marmie?

  75. a man walks into a bar?

    I mean, really.

I like corny jokes, but man oh man, that one I actually groaned.

Then on to the next hover text… I actually GUFFAWED! never thought I would ever describe myself guffawing, but there you go. :P

  76. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!

However, bebeh’s going to be just fine. Can you hear him purring ? Purring has been scientifically proven to help repair broken kitty bonesicles :

  77. awwww poor kitty :(

  78. berthaservant says:

L to the freaking O L on the h-text, Teho. Best laugh I’ve had all day!!!!

  79. Awww! Poor little thing! At least it’s getting some snoozetime.

  80. cute and sad, but not too sad. for a kitten in a cast, that is one contented-looking konk-out.

curious kittens will get in all kinds of trouble. we think our cat jumped off our roof when he was a kitten and someone left an upstairs window open. he had a little limp and we took him to the vet, but it wasn’t broken, just hurting him. he got better in a week or two. i hope mr. or ms. pink cast is pain-free pronto, too.

  81. Dear Sir,

Thank you for your submission to Catsthatlooklikehitler.com

We regret that we can not accept your submission because: you’re cat does not look like hitler.

Bundling them up in hitleresque poses does not qualify your cat. May we suggest you submit pictures to catswhoactlikehitler.com

    Sincerely,

    Management

  82. help Put out its misery….

  83. I’m with Jilger on this: While it is definitely sad to see him sick with his cast, he has someone who cares for him, is willing to spend the money (no mean feat!) and time to nurse him back to health. That’s what I call *love*.

  84. Doxylover79 says:

Oooooooooooh that poor sweet little kitty in it’s pink vet wrap sweater and stiff arm broke my heart.

  85. I feel like comforting the poor little guy. Awww. ='(

  86. Ahn… *gives kitteh a belly rub*

  87. Maaaaaaaaan. When I broke my arm in high school I didn’t get nearly as much sympathy! I need a striped-pajama suit!

  88. I must comment again…Meg, never again show these poor little busted-up babies without providing a sympathy PO box address for get-well tuna!

  89. Should have drowned it to put it out of its misery

  90. Et tu Robb

  91. Lisa (one of several) says:

Robb – we have no interest in hearing what your dad said to your mom after you were born! We are hear to talk about this cute, cute kitten!

  92. Mr. Pink cast looks to be a Ms Pink cast as if you look closely, there are stitches on that spotted belly!

Poor thing – brokey leg and spayded too boot!

    Double ouch!

  93. ButtaRumCake says:

Touche’, Lisa (1 of sev)! LMAO!
    Good one!!!!

  94. OMG he is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I want one!

  95. her axis of snorgling is all covered up with the cast.

  96. This is so cute it actually hurts – another Michelle
Absolutely! Took the words right out of my mouth. I was heartbroken when I saw this – such an adorable kitty & I hope in no pain xx

  97. its just like that wittle hedge that time. he had a green cast on his leg.

  98. Aw, poor little kitteh! Hope he gets all better soon.

  99. Thanks for the comments, everyone! This is my kitty, Gus. I’m really thrilled that this made it onto cuteoverload!

We found Gus on a farm back in September, and he wasn’t using that leg at all. We adopted him because we fell in love and were worried he wouldn’t survive otherwise. The leg indeed was broken, which the vets say happens easily in a small kitten. He had surgery in October to repair it and had a cast on for two weeks. There was also a metal post that was wrapped around the outside of his leg and went up around his neck, hence why he could fall asleep with it sticking straight out. The break couldn’t be repaired 100% as it was too severe, but he’s doing wonderfully and only has a limp for now. We’ve started physical therapy with him to improve the limp and to hold off arthritis as long as possible. Gus has always been incredibly happy and carefree, and has never cared less that his leg is icky. :)

  100. I told her rugby is a hard sport, but did she listen? Nnooo, she didn’t. I told her that pug was a ringer, did she listen? Nnooo she didn’t.
Then I told her to always come home for love and did she listen? yes, she finally did.

  101. Jenn in IL says:

Yay, Gus-Gus! Thanks, Jen, for coming on here and explaining this poor kitteh’s plight. So glad he’s with such caring owners as yourself! Kittehs this tiny and cute shouldn’t be without human mommies and daddies.

And LOL at Joey. Love it.

  102. oh, the HUMANITY!

  103. Jen- You have a sweet soul. Your compassion is a wonderful thing. Blessings to you and your puddy-tatt, Gus.

  104. @Claudia, “Walks into a bar” jokes are my absolute FAVORITE, and I have a priest, a rabbi, a horse, a bear, a kangaroo, a grasshopper, a golfer, a penguin, Rene Descartes, and a Roman soldier here, who all agree with me!

  105. poor kitty ;_; my old cat holly hurt her leg and was put in a bright green cast she didnt come out from behind the couch for ages probably cos of the SHAME cats are sooo vain ;)

  106. dead lolcat says:

    GTFO my Digg!

  107. Anonymous Coward says:

whoa — what the heck happened to this little fellow?

(no, i did not read the whole thread. maybe i should)

[Should that be "RTFT" as opposed to "RTFA", then? - Ed.]

this truly show the ability of cats to sleep no matter what. colour me impressed, still after all these years living with cats. their resilience is only matched by their (endearing) silliness.

    ac

  108. Aww Jen, thanks for the background. And thank you for being such a good mommy to Gus and giving him such a great forever home. I’m glad that he’s doing better and even the cast didn’t slow him down apparently.

But one question: how do you not eat up those pink jelly bean toesies?

  109. Cute cat, but what the hell is up with that awful furniture?

[Ha ha. So clever. Because this is a blog about furniture. I get it. - Ed.]

  110. catloveschanel says:

    Katrina,

Looks like the cutest rugby player ever, maybe name her Sporty Spice?

    Pink nail polish and lipstick….

Cuter than clothes for a pug!

[how many times can I say cute in a sentence. I think this is a true CUTE OVERDOSE.]

  111. catloveschanel says:

I guess I should be flagged by the referee for overuse of the word “Cute” in my previous poor post.

  112. lb-there isnt a better posishe than arm in the air. my mangled wrist is pure proof.
bats- it does get really reallt dirty after a while.

  113. Jen, thanks for telling us about little Gus. I’m glad to hear that he gets around so well, and even more glad that he found you!

  114. Jen, your story made me cry. You’re so wonderful to your sweet happy kitten. Animals are so resilient, aren’t they? Thank you for taking such good care of him. Physical therapy, even!

And those puffy pink pawpads! I want to squeeze them until he stirs slightly in his sleep.

Swear to god the alliterations are not intentional.

  115. Oh. Mah. Gah.

    Saddest post EVAR.

  116. Oh ma’ gosh…supah cute. Poor kitteh.

  117. Look at his blissful expression – he definitely got some good drugs!

  118. Thanks for filling us in, Jen. That makes it less sad. I love all orange kitties, but Gus is just OFF-THE-FREAKIN’-CUTENESS-SCALE!!!

  119. Awww, makes me think of my first pet Chester, who we got after he’d been run over by a tricycle driven by his mom’s owner’s child. He was already healed by the time we got him, but he must’ve looked like this at one point (except in B&W, he was a beautiful silver/gray blend in a tabby pattern). He walked with a pronounced leg “swing” (the broken leg swung to the outside then forward as he walked or ran – I wouldn’t call it a limp) for the rest of his life but it didn’t seem to cramp his style at all. I would climb way up in the peach tree to read books and Chester would climb up with me and sit on my lap and purr for hours. Sigh. That was around 45 years ago.

  120. This is the most adorable thing… ever.

  121. AW, poor baby.

  122. As someone who works in a clinic, I can say that as long as they get proper treatment, animals do GREAT on three legs! I’ve seen many happy-go-lucky amuputees. Animals are much tougher than we think. We own a three legged kitten (birth defect had to be fixed with amputation) and she does just great. Although we do have to think like a cat and put little ramps and steps all over so she can still jump up on things. She runs like a little bunny. :)

What an adorable kitten sleeping comfortably – definitely cute and sad.

  123. catloveschanel says:

    Ok,

    Gus is a good name.

    Gus is all gussied up.

Can’t we see an after picture?

    I am cute overdosed.

  124. Please keep me posted on the kitten after the cast comes off…I need to know!

  125. Awww poor wittle baby! I hope s/he heals up soon :(

  126. Floyd's Mom says:

  132. I want to hang a little flag on his cast. Maybe a skull and crosswhiskers?

  133. Looks like the kitten is giving a Nazi salute… Kitler! :P

  134. JoeyCee if you get a chance to look not too far up in the thread for the owner Jenn’s post you will see the cast came off the kitten is doing excellent and getting Physical therepy for his leg. And his name is GUS!

  135. Snerk @ Theo. IF you do that he needs an eye patch too. And a little caption saying ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

  136. Bahaha, it’s so stiff and cute.

  138. Damn those pink paws are cute!

  139. tastes like chicken says:

ROFL! Now, THAT is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a LOOOOONG time.

  140. His pink paws and totally snorglish tummy is too much, I love Gus!! *splode*

  141. Thats a spica splint, for a fractured humerus or scapula. We used to have to cut the vet wrap in half and roll it back up for these little guys :(

It never fails to amaze me how quickly they bounce back, this guy is sleeping now but I’m sure he’s still wreaking kitten havoc when he’s awake, splint and all.

  142. pam Mcdonald says:

That is the most adorable kitten I’ve ever seen!He ca come to my house!!!pam

  143. I’m not a cat person, but this kitty looks cute.

  144. catloveschanel says:

    Ok,

I haven’t been obsessed since the live shiba inu’s.

So I pasted him into Flash, rotated him 90 degrees so he looks like he’s standing up. Now he looks like a sleepwalker.

  145. Caitlin I agree with you!

  146. This is cute and sad — sleeping comfortably, tho’!

    Iguardo | Dec 28, 2008 at 03:42 PM

Yep, sad that kitteh got hurt, but he does look like he is resting comfortably and will be terrorizing the household in no time!

  147. “… but what the hell is up with that awful furniture? “

Tis not awful – it’s obvy been carefully selected so’s to complement the marmalade.

  148. Its looks like kitty just said, “well… I’m not going anywhere… so I guess I’ll just sleep here…”

  149. Dang, I missed. I’ll finish the job next time.

  150. Poor widdle bwoke kitteh-pants. I’m glad to know Gus is all better now.

  151. aww!!!! poor little bugger.

  152. One of our cats, Dale, is in the hospital right now getting IV and has a little red stocking bandage to keep it in place. Her prognosis is not good (kidney disease) so please pray for her. We have 3 other cats including a tripod name Adrianna who is the most affectionate sweetie. Dale should be coming home tomorrow and the others will be thrilled to have her back. All our cats came from this shelter http://www.animalumbrella.org which is a great place to donate to if you want to help some wonderful kitties. They work very hard to help sick and injured kitties and find homes for the ones who can be adopted. Thank you.

  153. totalee puppy says:

Enduring Wanderlust–LOL for “You should see the other kitty.”

Theo–Hovertext about “Limbo” is one of the best!

  154. I keep coming back to this photo. I can’t get over how adorable Gus-Gus is in this photo.

  155. @Witchylana – thank you for defending the furniture! I think it’s endearing :)

  160. Gail (the first one) says:

@snoopysnake: Lots of healing thoughts and snorgles to you and Dale the kitty.

  161. Poor little sweetie. Reminds of when my boy Salem came to us at 6 weeks old. He had a broken leg (broken by his foster carer’s when someone trapped his little leg in a door.) He had a plaster cast on with paw prints on the bandgage. So cute! Byt the time we had to take him to the vet to have it taken off, it was filthy! He’d drag it through his food bowl, the litter tray, whack his brother on the head with it, you name it!

Salem now has a dislocated back knee and broke that leg months ago. It needed surgery and pins. Oh, and he lost an eye a couple of years ago. Doesn’t stop him being a rampaging pest of a kitty! We love him so much!

  162. a couple years ago my long hair chihuahua broke his leg (while home alone no less) and had to have a blue cast like this. It was so sad seeing him try to walk and run and go up stairs and go outside

  163. poor b.i.a.t.c.h

  164. aww poor catツ lotz of loveツ

  165. i wonder what mischief that little kitty could have done? or was it a MOUSE trap?

snoopysnake-take it one day at a time and even one hour/minute at a time when necessary. We don’t want either of you to suffer. I wish you all that is good and peaceful.K.
This cutey-poo kikky cat is just sucking in all my cutes-must save some for family….

  173. i’m lookin for the man who shot my paw.

  174. Jen is a nice person for taking care of baby Gus. He looks very happy! And we hope both Gus and Jen have a super happy 2009.

Please keep us up to date on Gus.

  175. For anyone who is thinking of getting an animal companion, and becoming one, I can recommend the Corgi. They are the most cat-like dog I have ever had the pleasure of living with. It is like getting two in one. Dog outside the house, puddy-tatt inside.
Just wonderful, if you, too, have a stubborn streak in you and can lovingly reign him/her in when he/she ‘selectively listens’ I think a Corgula could be for you.

Please tell us how Dale and Gus and doing, peeps. How did the night go, snoopysnake? Thnkskbye.

  178. awww, poor kitty. What happened?

  179. snoopysnake says:

Dale has been home from the hospital for 2 days now and is eating fairly well again. She has CRF and we have to give her subcutaneous fluid therapy daily. She’s been a very good girl about it so far. She was thrilled to be home as were our other 3 kitties to see her. We know she doesn’t have good prospects for long-term but it’s a joy to have her something of her old self again.

  180. Ohhh.. poor kitty. This is kinda cute, but that poor little kitten must be terrified. I had a kitten with a broken leg and the injury and cast really freaked her out.. she would suddenly thrash around screaming many times a day. Also, she had difficulty washing herself and would urinate on herself. Her siblings were really upset and would hiss and run if they got near her. It really scarred her.. took her quite awhile to get over the emotional damage and she was always a bit off.

Definitely belongs in ‘cute or sad?’.

[Well, at least when this pic was taken, Gus wasn't losing any sleep... - Ed.]

  188. Michelle Payton says:

  190. Aw crap… OK, I’m going over older posts in our preparations for the 2010 calendar, and I’ve just noticed that I missed a totally prime That’s-What-She-Said gag. I can’t believe it. [gloom]

Your setup was perfect, OrangeCandies. I just plain dropped the ball.
