I was wondering if you had a date to Alpaca Nights yet…

by Meg on November 13, 2008

It’s gonna be sweet. Everyone is going. The chaperones are monkeys, so it’s gonna be really cool.

Linda?

Your Mom goes to college!

linguafranka, hovertext is my personal favorite bit of CO posts- to see it, put your mouse cursor over the image (without clicking). Keep it still for about a second and the text will pop up!

Another recreation of yours truly feebly asking out a woman; this reminds me of junior high. Or was it last week?

9 linguafranka 11.13.08 at 7:29 am

OMG a whole new world of qte has been opened up to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Threadjack and repeat post: Sorry.

If you would like to adopt a baby kitten (approximately 5 weeks old, eating solid food– we think):

My husband found a wee baby kitten, dirty, skin and bone, crying like the dickens out in the rain while walking the dog last night. We can’t take him in permanently, because we’d be in violation of our lease, as we already share a rented house with 2 rescued kitties and 1 dog. If you’re within 250 miles of Lake Cumberland (Kentucky), we’ll bring Isaac Mewton (as he’s been named by my husband) to you, as long as you can prove to us 1) you’re allowed to have him, meaning, if you rent, prove to us your Landlord allows kitties, or prove to us you own your property.

2) Show us you will keep him INDOORS if you live in a city or near a road!

You can email me at larcombj@yahoo.com if you’re interested, and we can send you pictures.

We’re taking him to be tested for feline leukemia/FIV and other such things this afternoon. (He’s currently in quarantine from our other cats).

Sorry to post this here, with such desperation. We live in the country, and see far too many dead kitties on our roads!

Merv

I just love them, sooo cute!

@Merv: Good luck with your babeh and thank you for taking him in!!! I’d love to come and snatch him up, but with 7(!) already, I’m trying to “just say no”.

Love, love, love the alpacas. Linda looks like she’ll say ‘yes’ when she takes her iPod off!

14 horriblelicenseplates 11.13.08 at 1:08 pm

Alpaca ‘tocks is what I needed this morning. Thank you.

Merv — have you set up an account on PetFinder?
http://www.petfinder.com/

Well-known, well-regarded national pet adoption site.

20 Susan 11.13.08 at 2:50 pm

@Merv: take a look at this page: http://www.kittysites.com/rescue_ky.shtml. Four possibilities of rescue or shelter for your kitten. Thanks for taking him in! Good luck finding him a permanent home.

Merv, I post also at a pet rescue board that does a bazillion cat/dog rescues a year… they do transports and everything.

I’ve posted your post there – hopefully someone there can help you.

28 Mary (the first) 11.13.08 at 5:43 pm

I am sadly much too far away from Kentucky to take the kitten, thanks for taking care of him, Merv! Surely someone on one of the petfinder sites will take him.
As for the alpacatocks, I love that her name is Linda and I am picturing the other one is named “Steve”. I don’t know why.

29 Mary (the first) 11.13.08 at 5:44 pm

well pooh, now I see that Steve is mentioned in the post so I probably subconsciously had that in mind.

30 Theresa 11.13.08 at 6:22 pm

Talking to the tocks.

31 biscuithead 11.13.08 at 7:01 pm

Tock talk?

32 Von Zeppelin 11.13.08 at 7:14 pm

@linguafranca–”k, i cant figger it out. what’s “hoovertext?”

Hoovertext: When you move your cursor over a picture of the 31st President of the United States, a little box opens up that says “Prosperity is just around the corner.”

33 MaggieBee 11.13.08 at 8:33 pm

35 aloria 11.13.08 at 9:16 pm

Awh, I want a date to Alpaca Nights. I haven’t had a date in 2 years and I’m starting to get all emo about it.

36 mervtheflamingo 11.13.08 at 11:04 pm

Hey everyone, thanks for the suggestions. We’ve avoided our local shelter for Isaac Mewton, because of the number of cats in our area that become roadkill. For some reason, almost everyone in our small town believes that animals belong (solely) outdoors. Too many dogs on chains. Too many dead kitties on the road. So, we’re being biased and appealing to a crowd that we think will be less likely to leave him out this freezing winter. (Cuteoverloaders.) But if all else fails, we’re hauling him to a no-kill shelter in our home town.

37 Juniper Jupiter 11.14.08 at 12:08 am

OMG!!! They’re so floofy they look like bristle brushes from the car warsh!

38 Angelstar 11.14.08 at 12:56 am

*through mouthfull of grass* * nods head to music*
Maybe later.

39 Katrina 11.14.08 at 5:44 pm

Walking in to my favorite printing shop, minding my own business and *BAM* there is a tiny, black kitten being snuggled in someone’s hoodie.
I came face-to face with a frisky, straight tailed charmer. I got to hold it and everything. It was in transit to its new companion animal.

It was so fun. I’ll remember if for quite a while! Ahhhhh, kittehs.

40 nakey 11.15.08 at 8:48 pm

OMG, teenager alpacas. TEENPACAS!!
