Here’s a quarter. Call someone who cares.

by Meg on November 10, 2008

[Uncontrollable fits of kitteh laughter]

I'll be here all week. IN YOUR HOUSE.

OK, OK, I know it’s a dime, People. "Quarter" sounded a LOT better.

Sender-Inner Mary S. agrees.

I thought the comment was cute and then I read the hovertext … Now I really can’t stop laughing … CO is ontop their game today ..

Kitteh just traded the dog a nickel to get the dime (cuz a dog will fall for the old “it’s bigger so it’s better” trick every time)!

Back in MY day it WAS a dime. ::sigh::

But, wait, isn’t today Bunday? It can’t be Toesday already. Need more caffeine.

Okay, first it was the puppy voice, now kitten laughter?

Meg, you are stretching the limits of my imagination.

10 mberkie0 11.10.08 at 2:32 pm

You can’t make a phone call with a dime any more, you need a quarter in most places….
@james: it dun’t take much imagination to hear a cat laugh, mine does it all the time at me. My Brit friends all say when something is so SO far off the mark that it’s “enough to make a cat laugh, it is.”

My Dante likes to carry stuff around, and bring me stuff. Once he brought me s five-dollar bill!
He also once brought me a business card. “Madam, my card.”

It’s not just the kittehs who are laughing. I nearly fell off my chair.

Theresa, how do you teach your cats to bring you money? That’s a useful trick!

13 Katrina 11.10.08 at 4:06 pm

debg,Theresa-please tell me too, ok? It has to be more fun than writing grants!

14 Annie 11.10.08 at 4:10 pm

My Lilac brings coins and rubberbands and buttons..Whatever she finds under furniture and the dryer. She also steals puzzle piecces when we are putting one together and leaves them as surprises for you.

Theresa: Some money would make a nice change from Worms moths and mice

You know, one of mine once brought me a $20, and when I confronted him, and asked where he got it, this sneer appeared on his face and he said, “Your wallet is just TOO EASY to get to. Oh yeah, and check your credit cards, too, hee-hee-hee! You may be seeing a lot of ‘1-900-PURR’ calls on your next statement.”
(Who knew that I lived with such pure evil?)

Well, to tell the truth, the money doesn’t come too often. Usually I get drinking straws and pipe cleaners. I once woke up on morning with six straws in bed with me. He’s a funny little booger.

ThreeCatNight- Brilliant!
Theresa-yeah, that IS more fun than writing grants.

19 Paunchie 11.10.08 at 6:20 pm

Theresa that’s too cute. Kitteh’s hunting for stuff and bringing it, providing for the family in his wee little mind, ha ha.

“Here’s a dime, go call your mother and tell her you will never be a lawyer”-John Houseman in Paper Chase-the phrase still gives Killer Corgi’s Lawyer Dad the willies.

Straws! Can’t leave those unattended around here. Have a great vid of my Max playing with one – before he gained his notoriety as Thumbcat he was known as the Straw Theif!

Once in tabby suits,
Gee we looked swell
Full of all that cuddly-squeely-dum
Half a million bootsies
Miaowing like hell
I was the cat with the bun!

(big finish)

Say don’t you remember
They called me Al,
It was Al all the time.
Say don’t you remember,
I’m your pal!

Kitteh, can you spare a dime?

23 Jessica 11.10.08 at 10:15 pm

If a cat could flip you off…

24 Kahva 11.11.08 at 12:56 am

Now if only the cat’s name was Travis… :)

25 Katrina 11.11.08 at 6:09 pm

Berthaservant- that was so appropos to the times, I teared up when I read that. well done. One of the best songs in the American songbook, in my opinion. There is no Rick James version, is there? No, I didn’t think so.

Such exquisitely white toesies! Such velvet grey ankles! I love little cat paws.

27 Mary S. 11.11.08 at 10:16 pm

The ironic thing is that the cat’s name is Penny. =D
