More Caturday indulgences [Shaking head in disgust]

by Meg on October 4, 2008

Dsc03217_2

Cats always think they have some kin dof special privledges just because it’s Caturday.

They think they can sleep in the dryer, eat at the dinner table, indulge in boxes—the list goes on.

When are the hamsters of this world going to rise up and say "Enough already" in their squeaky hamster voices!?

Dsc03216

Sender-Inner Marieke and Poema the kitteh, I don’t know if we’ll ever turn this around.

*tickles rabbit paw and runs*

2 Gecko 10.04.08 at 8:47 pm

HOLY SNIZZY that’s the biggest blob ‘o lint I’s ever seen!

3 Darkflame173 10.04.08 at 8:57 pm

It really should be a crime, the way cats can get comfortabuhls ANYWHERE and in ANY WAY!

A crime, I tell you!

4 minima 10.04.08 at 9:01 pm

Mmmm, where can I find my own human sized toasty and fluffy? Where?! :: so jealous of the happy ketteh ::

5 binky-mama 10.04.08 at 9:02 pm

Haha, this reminds me of a cat I used to know. He would go in the dryer to howl because he like the way his voice echoed.

*rolling eyes at the feline insanity*

6 muttluver 10.04.08 at 9:08 pm

Hamsters? HAMSTERS?
What about the DOGS? You MUST create a pupday! Must! MUST!!!

*ahem* Anywho… I kinda envy the cat. (Am I the only one who’s ever wanted to crawl inside a whashing machine? It looks like fun. Only I wouldn’t fit.)

7 berthaservant 10.04.08 at 9:20 pm

True story: our first cat Meow had her kitties in the warshing machine.

Cats know the best places to sleep. All hail Caturday!

8 Meriweather 10.04.08 at 9:23 pm

Paws up! I like the big splayed back paws contrasted with the daintily tucked fronts.

9 Sunstorm 10.04.08 at 9:53 pm

I actually think that is a drying machine. You are not alone, muttlover. I wouldn’t fit in a dryer, either, but if I did, I would crawl right in there among toasty laundry!

10 Katrina 10.04.08 at 10:07 pm

That is one comfortabubbal puddy-tat. Ahhhhhhhh…..

11 Kristi 10.04.08 at 10:09 pm

I love how it’s obvious that the dryer is unplugged…that’s some good kitty ownership! Bravo!

Also, that kitty looks the most comfortable ever.

12 foxy 10.04.08 at 10:09 pm

Looks like there might be a market in human sized dryers but we’d all have to live in warehouses in order to have them.

13 Gail (the first one) 10.04.08 at 10:14 pm

Unfortunately, one of mine would feel obligated to pee on the nice, clean, warm laundry!!! Hence, closed dryer doors are de rigueur!

14 Aequa 10.04.08 at 10:16 pm

ahahah it reminds me of when I was a toddler, my mom would drop all the laundry from the drying machine on the floor for me to burrow in the waaaaarm fuzziness

15 Clare 10.04.08 at 10:19 pm

warm soft clean laundry…

WARM SOFT CLEAN TOEBEANS!

16 WannaSmile.com 10.04.08 at 10:24 pm

I shall call him…Thumper.

17 32-P 10.04.08 at 10:26 pm

Poema is such a lovely name!

18 starling 10.04.08 at 10:32 pm

My partner’s cat was so bad, she’d come running down the cellar stairs as soon as she heard the dryer stop, and when you opened the door it was a struggle to get the clothes out before she jumped on them and covered them in fur.

19 starling 10.04.08 at 10:34 pm

By the way, if you want human sized dryers, go to a university campus, they tend to have dryers so big that students tend to crawl into them as pranks.

20 momof2kitties 10.04.08 at 11:22 pm

That is one blissed out puddy tat. I am so jealous!

@Aequa: My 6 year old does the same thing. And if his blankie is in it so much the better!

21 i_wuvs_puttins 10.04.08 at 11:29 pm

LOL at WannaSmile…I shall call him Snuggle, because Bounce just doesn’t cut it.

22 yankeebird 10.04.08 at 11:42 pm

I’m LOLing at everyone who’s calling it a “drying machine”. Seriously. Yer all crackin’ me up over here.

23 Cristina 10.05.08 at 12:07 am

kristi – thank you for pointing out the plug. i was about to comment to ask if i was the only one who was a little distressed by this. toebeans adorable, yes, but i’ve heard of too many cats lost this way.

thumsb up, owners. thank you. :)

24 Lori 10.05.08 at 12:20 am

Oh, my kitty loved warm, fresh smelling clothes. I would throw them on the couch for her to wrap up in for a few hours before folding. This picture brought back some good memories of my Weffy.

25 geneticlemon 10.05.08 at 12:26 am

Yeah, thank goodness that dryer’s unplugged, because the first thing cat owners do after they take photos of their cats in their driers is to turn them on …

26 Decca 10.05.08 at 12:34 am

Wow, that’s some Fluff cycle they got there.

27 scooterpants 10.05.08 at 1:06 am

uh oh. thats jus not right , right there.
open season on the puss’ah, (I’m just sayin)
eee gods….

28 scooterpants 10.05.08 at 1:13 am

ps. ok ya. i keep MY dryer unplugged ALL the time. pfffttttt. BS

29 i_wuvs_puttins 10.05.08 at 1:15 am

I keep my dryer door closed at all times. My machine is a washer/dryer combo and the plug is inaccessible. Caught my puttins napping in there once. I had a load of black clothes in it and my cat is black so she was camouflaged. I went to grab her and the clothes in a bundle, then realized that my pants were suddenly meowing.

30 Mara Seaforest 10.05.08 at 1:30 am

Excellent backfoot.

31 jen 10.05.08 at 1:34 am

what a cute kitty!!!!

32 Sahrawi Wife 10.05.08 at 1:46 am

So Comfy and warm !! :0)

I used to have a teacup Chihuahua that loved to get in the warm clothes from the dryer . When she learned the dryer made them warm, when she was cold she would run to the dryer and bark so I would warm her blanky in the dryer and she would snuggle deep in the blanky and sleep happily !

33 Patricia 10.05.08 at 1:55 am

I have to fold and put away laundry the second I get it out of the dryer if I leave it for even a second they plop their furry buts on it to sleep.

I love them but I can do with out cat fur rings on top of my clean clothes… lol.

34 T.U.M. 10.05.08 at 2:29 am

My dear departed Mittens loved her some clean laundry. I kept the clean towels on a high shelf, and that was her favorite place to sleep. Whenever there were fresh ones up there, there she’d be, jammed between the towels and the ceiling, with her little stripey head flopped down the front of the stack.

35 Totalee Puppy 10.05.08 at 2:50 am

Best hovertext is “Don’t touch that dial”…
Rolling eyes at…Feeling so comfortabubbal about…
never mind…All hail, Berthaservant!…muttluver,
thanks for supporting pupday!

36 Totalee Puppy 10.05.08 at 2:54 am

T.U.M….I’m sorry to hear
that Mittens is gone…what a precious story about Mittens and the
fresh towels…You really understood her…Bless.

37 Totalee Puppy 10.05.08 at 3:00 am

Sahrawi Wife…So nice to
hear about your teacup
chihuahua and warming her
blanky in the dryer…You were lucky to have each other, in a way…You were so kind. You must miss your tiny friend.

38 MinaAsh 10.05.08 at 3:04 am

God forbid I ever happen to leave my dryer open like this. My cats are ALWAYS seizing the warmth of freshly dried laundry when it arrives in a basket. Sometimes even while I’m carrying it. Thanks for keeping me alert C.O.

39 so_much_love 10.05.08 at 3:24 am

Unfortch for my cat (but fortch for teh global warmingks) I’m in a warm place and don’t need to use a dryer – BUT the clothes rack is apparently just as much fun.

When it’s got clothes on it, it’s a fort that must be defended from the evil that is my bare ankles; without clothes, it’s a tree that must be climbed all over, despite the xxxtreeeme wobbles and splay-toe grippingks.

40 M. V. 10.05.08 at 4:34 am

geneticlemon: thanks for the sanity check. lolol

41 Maria 10.05.08 at 8:14 am

Heyhey! Dutch Cat!! :D

42 chanya 10.05.08 at 10:17 am

o i love all the lovely people here who let their furbabies crawl into nice warm laundry with no thought to the fur all over the clean clothes – thats true love :)
and i love the splayed out back legs and toe beans – so anerable

43 Gail (the first one) 10.05.08 at 12:31 pm

@so_much_love: “evil ankles”, LOL!!!!

44 chanpon 10.05.08 at 12:43 pm

Wow, how funny is it that my cat is now in this exact same position, ‘cept just not on laundry.

Kitties curled in laundry have got to be just about the cutest things ever.

45 Sahrawi Wife 10.05.08 at 2:25 pm

Totalee Puppy….Thank you and Yes , I miss her very much ! Her name was Princessa and she was VERY attatched to my first husband and when he passed away she curled up on his pillow in her fave blanky and passed away in the night missing him tooo much !! She was only six yrs old but could not live without her Human by her side ! May they Both rest in peace together ! :( *sinff -sniff*

46 Yitzysmommie 10.05.08 at 5:55 pm

Me and my sister Kristin can’t live without our fluffy and chubby cat Poema , so we’ll sure think about unplug the dryer. haha !

50 muttluver 10.05.08 at 9:48 pm

CHUBS! Chubs, chubs, chubs, chubs….

Cubs, dubs (bleh), blubs (blubber!), hugs, shrugs, mugs, tubs, scrubs, stubbs, pubs, pugs, tugs (at heartstrings), crubs (word?), lugs, bugs, rugs, luvs…. I’m having too much fun here…

51 Curvy Catholic 10.05.08 at 9:59 pm

Whuh … [rubs eyes] 50+ comments and no nuffs?

Do I see a very bright light, and a tunnel?

52 Patty P 10.05.08 at 10:47 pm

Sigh! Cute pic, but I cannot look at a cat in the dryer without remembering two different incidents I knew personally of kitties being killed this way by people I loved, their owners. My dryer never stands open. Never.

53 stef 10.05.08 at 10:52 pm

vetklepje is jus’ chillin’ maynnnn

54 AuntieMame 10.06.08 at 2:56 am

People, get your kittehs to boxhab early, or look at the depths they’ll sink to!

55 Raemie L. 10.06.08 at 6:22 am

When the hamsters can live on their own in and out of cages? When they can make the time to make sense of the world outside of the food pellets and exercise wheel? When they understand they have been allowing the cats to have other privileges over them?
I imagine this, and still see I am yet another simple-minded hamster on the lowest shelf of a pet store.

Wait, was that rhetorical?

(sings) Kitteh has bunneh-like feeeets~

56 Ellen 10.06.08 at 3:21 pm

My little kitty likes to sleep on warm laundry, too. I cover the fresh wash with a t-shirt or something so she can get comfortables without furring the clean laundry.
She also like to lay on the empty laundry bag.

57 Curvy Catholic 10.06.08 at 3:30 pm

Ah, there we go – thanks, Patty P.! ;-)

58 Mook 10.06.08 at 4:48 pm

Hate to be a nuffer, but a friend of mine inadvertently killed her beastie when she turned on the dryer without checking first for kitties… she was totally traumatized for weeks. Unfortunately it really happens – so pulleeeeze check your dryer for critters before turning on.

59 Theo 10.07.08 at 5:55 pm

…and, you know, plug it in beforehand.

60 tygr 10.23.08 at 11:44 pm

omg this got me so nervous!i’ve read about so many stories of cats dying by accidently being dried in the dryer. PLEEEEEASE watch out for kitties in the dryer!!!
