    **CRY*** Such a precious baby.
    This makes me sad.

  16. Wombats says:

Sara, you are a twit. Please explain all your perfect physical attributes. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

  17. pyrit says:

    Poor little nipper.
The good folks at Tiggy’s don’t have it easy.
There are lots of deer in my yard. I’ll throw extra apples in the woods for them.

  18. Jorden says:

I believe you man to shove the PHERTER in our direction.

  19. Jorden says:

By “man”, of course I mean “mean”.

  20. wolfie says:

    Awww…. barrooo! So sad. :-(

Btw, I’m kind of with Sara on the fingernails. I just try to focus on the perfection within the hands.

  21. llism says:

Crap. Poor little dood. Double crap. *wipes tears*

Yeah, I could never work in a place like that. I’d probably be a raging alcoholic just to escape from the pain. My hats off to the people there for doing all they do. . . truly that is god’s work.

  22. sairentohiru says:

As far as the hands go, they may not be worthy of a nail polish ad or anything, but they are beautiful by virtue of the fact that they are tenderly cradling an orphaned baby.

  23. Barbara says:

    OH NO.

Yikes that makes me cry and I am at work. But my dog died in August so this makes me sadder than usual, damn.

  24. Jorden says:

Oh dear-I hadn’t read the comments. Very, very sad to hear of the passing of this lovely fellow. Condolences to his caretakers.

  25. ceejoe says:

the peeps that bring up the fingernails… and i mean this in the gentlest way… do you have *any* idea how much work it is to take care of our anipals? I have 13 kittehs and 2 guinea piggehs (and i work full-time too) and so i am *always* cleaning up something. so i wash my hands like a bazillion times a day. and therefore i do not have lovely nails. but the trade-off is *so* worth it. so stop with the nail criticisms… please…

  26. eikoleigh says:

Beautiful little baby. So sad to hear he didn’t make it. :-(

For those needing more exquisitely-precious teeny deerage, you simply must watch “Growing Up Sitka Deer” on Animal Planet.

Sitka deer are the smallest of their species, only 6 inches tall after birth.

This beautiful creature was saved by a wildlife rescue group in Alaska. It shows the angelic deer being bottle-nursed shortly after birth through being a teenager.

This little critter is so tiny, so innocent and so vulnerable; she will grab your heart and never let go.

  29. jmuhj says:

Together forever. No more pain. No more suffering. That’s a GOOD thing.

But we sad to miss them.

    *Tears*

  31. darkshines says:

I’m sad he left us, but I am glad he is with his mom on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, chilling with Steve Irwin and Thomas Dörflein, eating lunchables and chasing butterflies.

  32. Angela says:

Does anyone else notice the grotesque hands on that individual??? *shudder*!

  33. Jackie says:

Thanks for pointing that out Angela. My face just went from Awww to Ewwwww in .5 seconds……

  34. Poor little guy. But look at how much joy he spread just on CO during his short time here…*sniff*

  35. Molly says:

Godspeed, little deer. Your too-short life brought happiness to a lot of people. We’ll miss you.

  36. LipGloss666 says:

    aww too cute!!!

  37. NO! He was gonna save the world!

  38. Sunstorm says:

  39. Theo says:

BServ — you think he’s not doing it right now?

  40. Darkflame173 says:

Oh no! Aww, I’m so sad to hear the wee one has passed on. I know the odds were against the lil guy, but kudos to the lovely folks at St Tiggywinkles for trying so hard. The photos sure brought a lot of joy, and it’s well for Rupert to be remembered.

    RIP cutie
