PupNapper 3000™

by Meg on September 12, 2008

Finding a napping partner is never easy. It’s even worse when you have a cold neck and don’t know where to turn!

THAT’S where the PupNapper 3000 comes in. The entire family can share one.

Img_0997

The 3000 model has built-in heater included, modular ear floppage (see versatile ear placement above).

Tiny snorting noises may occur.

Kim T., I’ll take two.

Must have!

2 berthaservant 09.12.08 at 11:47 pm

I’m not a ‘dog person,’ per se.

But this product intrigues me.

Is there ANYTHING better than animals sleeping next to humans they love?

3 Melissa H. 09.12.08 at 11:47 pm

The tiny snorting noises aren’t so bad, it’s the flatulence that’ll get ya!

4 NotAnotherMilo 09.12.08 at 11:54 pm

i have the catnapper 1500 with purrmotor food massage, but it’s only designed for feet warming and the occasional knee snuggling. The pupmaster looks much more versatile…

5 JudyRB 09.13.08 at 12:00 am

I have 2 of the 3000’s and boy when you get them both working – it can get pretty warm esp. when you are in between them. Mine do not have adjustable heat settings so the pup heat is always set on HIGH no matter what the season

6 Sandy 09.13.08 at 12:03 am

You know, I’m so tired of having to buy the latest and greatest. I still have the 2000 model and it works just fine. ‘Cept it doesn’t like to watch the Colbert Report. It prefers the Daily Show.

7 chanpon 09.13.08 at 12:12 am

You take your 9. I personally prefer off the cliff puppy nappage, so I turn it up to 11.

8 Mary (the first) 09.13.08 at 12:12 am

The PupNapper is wonderful. I would like one also.
On another note.. that child looks like he has two shoulders.. ??

9 Boomer's Babysitter 09.13.08 at 12:14 am

Definitely want one!

10 Boomer's Babysitter 09.13.08 at 12:17 am

I think one of the “shoulders” might be a knee. Kids are pretty flexible.

11 scoobie 09.13.08 at 12:17 am

I have the old 1000 model and I have to say I don’t like where you have to stick the batteries.

I have a defective Catnapper. Mine sometimes tries to make bebeh kittehs on my arm when I’m sleeping. Me no likey. I will not return it though. He’s a keeper, otherwise.

13 Arvay 09.13.08 at 12:22 am

I wouldn’t share that! It would be minemineminemineALL MINE!!

[O HAI Arvay! C'mon, help us cheer up BerthaServant... - Ed.]

14 Alex 09.13.08 at 12:41 am

I have two of the Large Size Pupnappers and one Medium, and they are great! Last winter when me heat went out, I didn’t freeze even a little! Thank you, Pupnapper!

15 Daphne Moss 09.13.08 at 12:55 am

Oh, da BAY-bee!!! *puddle of happy*

16 dub1 09.13.08 at 1:33 am

New from Ikea:
Snuz™

Love the ‘modular ear floppage’
Wonder if it comes in Pom?

17 Jen 09.13.08 at 1:42 am

“AAWIZZABAYBEE!!” < -- yes, that gurguled out of my mouth upon first viewing. Nothing is proshisher. Want.

18 wagthedogma 09.13.08 at 2:02 am

LOL @dub1! XD

19 Lurker 09.13.08 at 2:26 am

That is one ahppy pup. I loves the chin slung over the hind feets.

20 Lurker 09.13.08 at 2:26 am

ahppy = so happy you say, “Ahh!”

21 Jenny 09.13.08 at 2:32 am

Don’t children normally have 2 shoulders? I haven’t studied them scientifically, but i seem to recall from high school biology classes that children do indeed have 2 shoulders….

It is a knee – i sleep like that all the time…or i would if my Catnapper v1.3 would ever sleep somewhere besides in my face. Maybe I need to upgrade.

22 Red 09.13.08 at 2:48 am

same here Jenny…I sleep with my knee up that way…I have a very defective kitteh…won’t sleep anywhere near me. Seems when I am sleeping, that means it’s time for him to wake up and knock things over!

23 scooterpants 09.13.08 at 2:52 am

gahhhh. “tuxie chow-wow-wow”
not fair. i’ll take two as well, one for each ear-(muffs)

24 Shar 09.13.08 at 2:54 am

I have an older model FurBall700 with the High-Shedding option. ok, yes, and the High-Shredding option that was part of the basic equipment package for that model. Fortunately I was able to purchase the Totally-Snoly and Intense-Purrage options so our FurBall700 was a keeper. :)

25 Shar 09.13.08 at 2:55 am

*Snorgly

26 DumBunny 09.13.08 at 3:14 am

My FurrBall500 has a very low volumn on the purr setting you can hardly hear it, and it parks itself on my head at night.

27 bev 09.13.08 at 4:18 am

Okay, I have to say that this might be an instance of false advertising. I’m pretty sure that the second pic actually shows the PupRunner 4400 and the HumanPupChaser 5800 both in standby positions.

It is well-known that these two products can cause inordinate amounts of household chaos when they are NOT in standby mode and especially if they are used together. Please, do not be deceived by the cuteness of either model.

28 so_much_love 09.13.08 at 5:08 am

Hm. I have the LurkenSproingen2.0 that I’m very happy with but I can’t seem to adjust the alarm setting to after 8am. Hitting snooze just initiates full-power biscuit-making mode. I guess all the models have theirs quirks…

29 Marie 09.13.08 at 5:31 am

This is sooo much better than cats in racks – at least to me. Lol!

Much more satisfying

30 platedlizard 09.13.08 at 6:06 am

I have the Black-Capped Conure Shower Buddy, and while I enjoy the head-surfing and the wet-feathered ear-snuggling actsion I find myself interested in the PupNapper 3000. Do you thing these too models are compatible? I would hate for a beak/floppy ear interactsion to go awry.

31 Wombats 09.13.08 at 6:43 am

I have the “Parakeet Upside down Eyebrow Plucker 1500-B” with optional Nail Groomer attachment.

The technical support website states that this equipment is incompatible with Shar’s FurBall 700, but would work well in conjection with platedlizard’s “Black-Capped Conure Shower Buddy”.

32 binky-mama 09.13.08 at 7:30 am

Love the mouf wrinkles in pic #2!

I have a Feline Eyelid Licker 3000. I only got it ’cause I thought it might be useful to remove make-up. Now the dang thing licks my eyelids at 4:30 AM. And shreds all my toilet paper too.

33 Raemie L. 09.13.08 at 8:47 am

*sigh* Schleepy face.

34 Katrina 09.13.08 at 10:49 am

Berthaservant- how are you? I’ve been thinking of you and don’t know what else to do to cheer you up. Is it too soon to be cheered up? Take your time, we’re here.

Our model Low-rider 2005 is working just great. We didn’t even know about some of the hidden features such as the Lower Leg Lickage and Border-Patrolling packages. We’re very satisfied with the product and just don’t know how we managed to keep our house dirty and furry without it! I’d recommend it to anyone with an annoyingly clean house/bed! Sleeping is a breeze until 5:30 am with our Low Rider, too!
(Affidavit on file)

35 Blondie 09.13.08 at 12:08 pm

@Champon

“This one goes to 11.”

36 Von Zeppelin 09.13.08 at 12:54 pm

Glad to see that the 3000 incorporates advanced miniaturization technology. I am fond of my big old classic Snooze-o-matic greyhound mix model, with all the full-sized mechanical parts (they don’t make ‘em like they used to). It curls up into a fairly compact shape between two people on a king-size bed, but when the need to stretch arises, you get a claw or a tail a cold nose in the ear.

37 crazyweinerdoglady 09.13.08 at 1:42 pm

@KATRINA – I have 2 of the lowriders, an older 9000 and a newer 2000. I actually prefer the 9000 for sleeping as it stays in the bed alllll day with no interruptions, whereas the 2000’s alarm goes off with a hair trigger EVERY morning at 6 am. Both have excellent heat settings and I only have to change the batteries once a year. The 9000 version came with constant tongue action and it seems my newer version emits an odor from the back regularly that I haven’t figured out how to control. Other than that I’d LOVE to add a new version… maybe in that new chocolate dapple paint job.

38 crazyweinerdoglady 09.13.08 at 1:42 pm

oh yeah… the PupNapper 3000…. WANT.

39 Addiepray 09.13.08 at 1:43 pm

Best thing evah

40 amyj 09.13.08 at 1:49 pm

We have two different models from about five years ago and both still work great – highly functional alarm clocks. Our FurrBall Bonkmaster makes huge crashing noises by pushing things off tables, and our FurrBall Biscuitmaker shreds my arm with very sweet but very prickly paws. The Bonkmeister is also a pillow-sitting head-warmer and the Biscuitmaker is a neck draper (comes with warnings about possible inhalation of large quantities of fur).

I recommend both – very warm and snuggly! (We only wish they got along a little better with each other…)

41 Theresa 09.13.08 at 2:10 pm

It is too early for me to do anything but be melted by this black and white cookie of a puppy, and awed by all your comparable products!!!

42 Theresa 09.13.08 at 2:13 pm

PS What is the matter with B-Serv? Nothing wrong with Bertha, I hope. Or is it just (snigger giggle) the Yankees (snicker snort)?

43 Totalee Puppy 09.13.08 at 2:36 pm

BERTHASERVANT–Sorry I didn’t know until this morning that you could use cheering up…I had to take time away from CO to prepare for storms here near the gulf…IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS…What has happened to our Berthaservant? Are you all right?

44 Totalee Puppy 09.13.08 at 2:45 pm

Pup Napper 3000…Our family would visit timeshare properties in order to win one! We would love to win one for Berthaservant, too, but we’re not sure what is appropriate…Is there an
All-Occasion Napper?

45 blair 09.13.08 at 3:32 pm

what’s a caturday without a puppular picture that makes you forget it’s caturday?

46 berthaservant 09.13.08 at 5:03 pm

Hi gang…I’m doing fine, just slept in late today. My NAP-A-MAX (Z Model, Travel Size) would not fit easily on my aching back, so I had to sleep with it in the usual position, curled around my wrist. The smooth purring action was soothing, to be sure, but you all know why the Z Model was discontinued — that middle of the night paw-scrape-on-your-face feature that was supposed to be the next Gwen Stefani in the mid-90s when this was first put on the market.

I had a good talk with a friend last night (not the idiot one who was cruel) and feel a little bit better about things, though my back is still aching. Luckily, I have a rare day off from obligations. Yay, Saturday.

47 Amy 09.13.08 at 5:37 pm

I have had the catpurr1100 for about 16 years now, and have been very satisfied. Although i can’t seem to turn off the morning alarm function (feed me NEE-OOOWWWW). It’s automatic purr function is still in mint condition. I can only hope that the pupnapper3000 is as durable!

49 warrior rabbit 09.13.08 at 6:07 pm

I love this thread! So creative and funny.

I would chime in, but my last model suffered a motor failure in February and I was too attached to it to look into newer models right away. However, lately I have been more interested and have been doing some browsing and tire-kicking online.

I think I’m close to getting one, probably someone else’s trade-in. Absolutely nothing wrong with those, I’ve found. They can be a real bargain!

50 mberkie0 09.13.08 at 7:03 pm

Tradeins are really kick-as*. My own Furfactory (turns food into flyaway floof) was a trade-in more than 15 years ago, and continues to be as satisfactory as it was in the beginning as a warmer, except not in the summer.

51 ashagato 09.13.08 at 7:18 pm

you guys are so clever, LOL! COers rock…

52 Dewi 09.13.08 at 7:27 pm

Sorry I missed what ails Brethaservant, but what can I do, special extra strong good wishes, hugs and anything else needed are stading by for appropriate fine tuning and directing, I KNOW CO lokks after its own, and as it helped me I’ll do everything I can to help

53 Totalee Puppy 09.13.08 at 7:54 pm

Any cute 1-800- numbers to call to order your PupNapper 3000?

54 Totalee Puppy 09.13.08 at 8:16 pm

WARRIOR RABBIT and MBERKIEO…Thanks for giving a nice home to those
trade-ins. No time for losers cause you are the
Champions…

55 Gail (the first one) 09.13.08 at 11:20 pm

One feature that I didn’t see mentioned is that with regular food and gentle use, the PupNapper2000 will gradually expand to provide a larger cuddling surface to enjoy!!

56 Katrina 09.13.08 at 11:32 pm

This thread is just so much fun…

My low rider 2005 is just great for vacuuming large areas of almost any surface, but the drying time , well it is a bit long.
Who wrote turns food into yellow fluff? My God that was funny, as has everyone been…
Yes, Gail(the first one), with proper maintenance the coverage area should increase- they should have put that right on the packaging. Do you think that this is what that cute back puddy tat was unwrapping a few threads back, with the angel-poop?

Berthaservant- OK, you are back in the fold. People are fickle and nasty, brutish and short (except for me and the friend you spoke to who obviously has your best interest at heart and everyone who has commented on this thread, of course and you. Now, take hot showers, do some very simple non-hurting stretches to keep you back musckles loosened up (and I know from back musckles) and well, feel better. I’d make that an order, but I’m just too tender-hearted. Try, ok?

57 Theresa 09.13.08 at 11:50 pm

Katrina, I see those are muskles. I assume that’s not to be confused with Mussels, as in Mussels Marinara.

58 Katrina 09.14.08 at 12:12 am

NO, Theresa actually these are ‘musckles’ as in Bullwinkle’s “Moose Musckles”.
Now, Mussles, ummmmmm, in a nice garlic butter sauce, straight up from the shells, ooh, oh, hey

Berthaservant, maybe that would be good for you, too? I prescribe it for when your finances get heartier, and they will, they will. Bertha would like it too!

Warrior Rabbit-it is absolutely amazing what these new models can do, tomorrow is Sunday, a great day to take a ride and see what is available! The nicest thing you can do is honor your furry friend by loving another furry friend, in my humble opinion. Best wishes,K.

59 Gail (the first one) 09.14.08 at 12:26 am

@Berthaservant: It is so, so hurtful to have a friend disappoint you and then life decides to “pile on”…Oy!!

Movie references to cheer you:

“At times like this, the things my old man used to say…”
“What did he say?”
“What the hell’re you doing in the bathroom day and night?!! Get out of there and give someone else a chance!!!”

For when your back is hurting:
“(sotto voce) Nice…hopping.”

(I survived a craniotomy partly due to my buddy Mike insisting we refer to it as a “cerebrectomy”, from The Muppet Movie!)

And finally, new pics of my Marmie, Daniel, who is being the best ‘big brother’ to new little sister, Helen:

{{{HUGS))) to you from me and my brood!!! Gail

60 Gail (the first one) 09.14.08 at 12:31 am

@Katrina: You always have such good comments!!!!!

BTW, haven’t ’seen’ Hon Glad around lately…..or is it just me?

61 momof2kitties 09.14.08 at 12:32 am

@Berthaservant: I replied to your reply to my reply to your reply (oh, you get the idea) back on the Cute Co. post. I think Theo may have chimed in, too.

Hope you’re doing better!!!!!! Better go plug in that NAP-A-MAX again for more extry-strength snorglage. It’s a rainy, dreary day here in MI, perfect for snuggling my CapNapper 2007 model.

62 amyj 09.14.08 at 12:37 am

Berthaservant I hope your back is recovering. I missed what happened but if it’s musckle strain try a heating pad – they work wonders. And if it still bothers you in a couple of days, please see someone (if you haven’t)!! (I hope you are not one of the thousands who can’t afford health insurance.)

63 berthaservant 09.14.08 at 12:58 am

Back update: not completely better but manageable. If sore on Mon. will visit expert (I have health insurance, crappy though it may be).

64 amyj 09.14.08 at 2:12 am

Glad to hear your back is better, Berthaservant. Let’s hope it continues to improve. My mother just had her second back surgery in two years so backs are very much on my mind. (She’s doing great, thanks!) And heck, crappy health insurance is still better than none (speaking as one who has had both). Good luck, and keep us posted.

Have you tried a pasickie? Might help…

65 the other Brenda 09.14.08 at 2:51 am

I have the wakemaster 1500. It starts at 0500 with a gentle whisker brush to the face, progresses to the snooze alarm of stomping on the hair, and finally the batting of the vertical blinds for the auditory stimulus. It is a very effecient model. It will even remove water from the glass by the bed, sacrificing itself by putting it’s whole head into the glass. A truly amazing product.

66 warrior rabbit 09.14.08 at 3:07 am

I forgot to say that while I haven’t chosen a particular model, I will be sticking with the same make. Buntronics™ is a real high-quality green manufacturer; all the models are whisper quiet, high-energy and very eco-friendly. Emission isn’t exactly low, but is environmentally sound and can even be recycled. Reception on the model is omnidirectional, and while the two receivers are a little outsized relative to the main unit, each can be independently controlled — a marvel to watch in action. The ventilation system runs a little fast and the primary intake valve can be a little distracting in its cuteness. I am a Buntronics™ customer for life!

67 Marymomma 09.14.08 at 4:53 am

This looks scarily like my 2 year old son…though we only have an incredibly rambunctious beagle who would never settle in for a sleep-snuggle like this!

Cuuuuuuute!

68 Katrina 09.14.08 at 11:03 am

Marymomma, is your son usually that scary? I have a 19 year old and a 16 year old, and those my friend, are scary…
Beagles I love from afar, and I admire anybody who can put up with one- the overexitement attachment never comes off! I’m told that the only cessation of activity is when it too is in ’standby’ mode. It is either “on” and rambunctious or “off”, yes?

69 Katrina 09.14.08 at 11:09 am

crazyweinerdoglady- getting back to ‘low riders’ yes, they own the floor, don’t they? Now I understand that you have the small, odoriferous models, yes? I have learned that feeding mine broccoli is a mistake.
Have you tried charcoal filters? Just some ‘wisdom through learning’ to share. Mine is a 50+ pounder, with the deep, hearty bark-o-rama, and your have the higher-pitched woofers? I wonder if Theresa can make them into a choir- a good challenge for her. You have tenors, I have a Baritone. We have had ‘dogs playing poker’, why not dogs doing Bach (Barch?)

70 crazyweinerdoglady 09.14.08 at 1:10 pm

Katrina- WOW 50+? I’d LOVE to see that…wait are you talking about a basset or a standard weiner? LOL
Yes, broccoli and rawhides are avoided at all times. I have the tweenie versions of the Lowriders. 12-18 lbs. Look very light but when you try to wag it up the stairs to clean with they are heavier than they look.
Yes tenors…they look like they’d be sopranos but run on a much deeper octave than say, the Ratdog 400

71 claudia 09.14.08 at 2:19 pm

This thread had me LOL till I cried. “Turns food into yellow floof”…thats friggin hilarious!!!!!!

72 s57sunny 09.14.08 at 4:30 pm

I love all the comments in this section! After losing a couple of very close family members over the past few months I wake up on weekend mornings now knowing how I will feel or whether I’ll make it through the day or not. This morning wasn’t looking too good until I started reading these comments and looking at the pictures. I feel much better now! Thank you all so much!

By the way, I have two slightly older PupNappers I inherited from my father a few months ago. I’m not sure what models they are but they are excellent for keeping me warm and making me feel needed, and I hope I’m doing the same for them since their beloved Grandad passed away.

73 Lacy 09.14.08 at 5:59 pm

is there any way to find out what kind of dog this pupper is? he looks exactly like my puppy, who is a mutt. i’d love to know what breed/breeds he may be!
thanks!

74 Katrina 09.14.08 at 9:01 pm

crazyweinerdoglady-mine is a Cardigan Corgi-the one with the buttons.
Affectionately called Killer Corgi by our next door neighbors who own both a boxer and a Staffordshire Terrier (a truly, really frightening-looking aminnule), Abbey is a bit overweight. (She went for both dogs and truth be told, would make some major damage if left with another dog. Territorial to the max, she has her own back yard, which she patrols every AM and PM. God, you’d think we live next to Visigoths or something. She should be in the 40-lb range. BUT she and I are soulmates, so I have so little objectivity-I’m pretty sure my husband overfeeds her.
Corgis have been described as ‘big dogs in little bodies’- wow, is that ever true. No vicious with people, but she talks a good game….”Don’t pet a Corgi you don’t know” is my advice to all peeps.

75 Katrina 09.14.08 at 9:25 pm

s57sunny, welcome to you. Hang around; good times, good times, as someone recently wrote.

Loneliness is part of the human condition, and we all seem willing-enough around here to own up to our humanity.

Take your time, hang with us and we’ll keep you so silly, ‘the blues’ will not have a chance…best wishes, K. Right Silly Meg, Theo and NONTOM? Of course.

76 s57sunny 09.14.08 at 11:47 pm

Thank you Katrina! I plan to stick around a while and see some more of these adorable babies!

77 AmyJ 09.15.08 at 12:34 am

So sorry to hear about your difficult times, s57sunny. You and those Pupnappers take care of each other. And when you need a smile, CO will be here for you!

78 Fegli 09.15.08 at 1:19 am

Do they come in kitten form?

79 crazyweinerdoglady 09.15.08 at 2:02 am

Katrina- yeah Doxies are the same way, BIG dogs in little bodies, and don’t pet a weiner unless you ask first. I was thinking corgi after I wrote that earlier but being the hound lady I am immediately think weiner or basset :)

80 Rooanne 09.15.08 at 5:37 am

@Gail (the first one): your Daniel looks so much like my new model kitteh!! Same age, too. Mine has a bit more white on legs & side (white belleh too, I assume yours does?). Also his nose is orange, not white.

81 Kim 09.15.08 at 12:45 pm

Lacy,

This little puppy is a feist/terrier mix. The mother is a feist but all the animal shelter knew about the father is that he was a black terrier. I sometimes think I see a little bit of Boston Terrier in him and a friend said rat terrier. We love him to pieces! I just need to get a picture of him playing with our 50 pound Australian Shephard. Too cute!

82 mberkie0 09.15.08 at 12:49 pm

@Katrina and Claudia:
That’s the Deluxe Model 1991 Furfactory, ladies and gentlemen, like magic, it turns purr-fectly good food into FLYAWAY floof, not “yellow” floof. And it’s all grey, being that the Furfactory model that I have has no yellow on it atall, just grey. The amount of production will astonish you (as I should know since I brush it down every day)!
@Berthaservant: Sending you healing thoughts –

83 Katrina 09.15.08 at 3:08 pm

mberkie0-too, tooo, funny. Sorry for the misquote- I still giggle at your line. My model is all yellow outer hair so, that s where the yellow must have come in.

The brushing must be quite a job, and I suspect that you keep your candy apples far away from the fluff source! Flyaway Floof, ohhh, don’t I know, about that, too!

84 mberkie0 09.15.08 at 3:52 pm

@Katrina:
If I didn’t brush the Furfactory every day, the flyaway floof would be much worse than it is, and I would be drowning in it. Within a week, you would not even be able to find me for the piles of flyaway floof.
Candy apples? Who in this day and age has candy apples? My dentist has outlawed them for me.

85 Flartus 09.15.08 at 4:12 pm

Wow, it’s amazing all the modern technology out there. I’ve got a used Likkerator 3000, with extra wide applicator. I was lucky to get the LoSlobber version, and I am very happy with my selection. It also has the Floof Converter box, though it only seems to be productive 6 months out of the year. The Footsensor in the rear of my model is quite charming when it goes into SitforPet mode, though I wouldn’t recommend this in a larger model.

86 Katrina 09.15.08 at 8:58 pm

OK, this is by far my veriest favoritest thread.

mberkie0- you may substitute anything sticky for the candy apples- say, marshmallow, or pumpkin guts. and I’m sorry that your dentist is so well, dentisty.

Flartus- just what does the LoSlobber Lickerator 3000 look like, please?(extra-wide applicator-oh, there I go again, I can barely type) And just which species it it? I am over hear laughing my silly head off, re-reading this thread!

Thank you all! K.

87 AmyJ 09.16.08 at 12:00 am

Likkerator! Extra wide applicator! *snort*

88 Liting 09.16.08 at 12:04 pm

How much does it costs hmm? I’ll take one! =D

89 mberkie0 09.16.08 at 12:28 pm

@Katrina: Ummm. Pumpkin guts, eh? Plan on eviscerating pumpkins? Just thinking about combining pg with flyaway floof makes me queasy! Oh, well, dentists will be dentists.

Katrina,
I have the Canine Likkerator. She’s a trade-in, so I don’t know all the specs, but I’m guessing Chow/Border Collie–a fantastic blend, lemme tell ya! She’s a fairly compact 50-pounder; surprisingly portable and fun to share! (We do Dog Therapy visits; unfortunately the extra-wide applicator doesn’t have a ‘neutral’ setting.)
