Looks like one of those things one would put in front of the fireplace.

2 Marymomma 09.26.08 at 3:56 am

I keep looking for these at Ikea, and just leave all disappointed-like.

3 geneticlemon 09.26.08 at 4:04 am

I wonder if those are radiating floors …

4 Lone 09.26.08 at 4:05 am

Is no rug, is polish.

5 berthaservant 09.26.08 at 4:06 am

Pup also triples as a Swiffer, and probably uses New Shimmer — Just look at that shine!

(And it’s delicious!)

6 Stefanie 09.26.08 at 4:09 am

Wow, that’s a clean, gleaming floor! Does the dog act as a broom too?

7 warrior rabbit 09.26.08 at 4:15 am

I wonder if anyone has actually named their dog Swiffer. If I had a dog that looked like this, I totally would. But then I also took my rabbit to get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

8 Shannon 09.26.08 at 4:20 am

Wow that floor is gorgeous. I just know I will never have a floor this beautiful or clean, lol.

9 Sarah-Jane 09.26.08 at 4:21 am

Nice floors. Is that Brazilian cherry?

10 Kristi 09.26.08 at 4:40 am

But where is ze handle?

What will Swiffer think of next?

11 Red 09.26.08 at 4:42 am

yes, definitely an ‘in front of fireplace’ rug…and yeah…those are the kind of floors I will never, ever get to have, but dream of…mmmm

12 Kar 09.26.08 at 4:52 am

Wonderful floors. I WANT EM !!!

Especially with that wonderful swiffer.

13 M. 09.26.08 at 5:09 am

That is a beautiful floor!

14 Theo 09.26.08 at 5:18 am

Yes, fabulous flooring, but at what cost? Look what it’s done to the poor pup’s ears!

tee hee hee!!!

16 Katie 09.26.08 at 5:22 am

Warrior Rabbit- Shuddup! You did NOT! Where is the picture and when will it be on here?

This puffy pupple looks more like a Swiffer Duster than a floor Swiffer… I love that people are commenting on the FLOORS. The nesting instincts, they overwhelm the Cute!

17 AuntieMame 09.26.08 at 5:31 am
18 belphebe 09.26.08 at 5:44 am

Theo, you forgot to yell “Photoshopped!” because everyone knows there is no way that dog is really that fluffy. In the first picture, someone obviously worked pixel by pixel to put the doggy’s reflection in the floor. It can’t be natural.

Can I please have the puppy? I promise to give him new ears and another eye, and I also promise not to beep his nose with the mouse pointer every few seconds.

*beep*

19 Theresa 09.26.08 at 5:49 am

Neiman Marcus doesn’t have any New York City stores!

20 Lizzy 09.26.08 at 6:36 am

@Warrior Rabbit – yes, YES you MUST post zee peektschure! That is far too funny for words, and definitely something I would do.

Zees puppehmop, he eez too prosh to handle – therefor, no handle!

21 Aimz 09.26.08 at 6:56 am

LOL, it’s the new boneless breed of dog!

22 Von Zeppelin 09.26.08 at 7:22 am

That dog really keeps those floors shined up! All my mutts do to the floors is leave toenail marks and shed fur.

23 Barbarella von Fluffenstein 09.26.08 at 8:13 am

Puppy Rug!!! :D

24 warrior rabbit 09.26.08 at 9:11 am

Well, let me just preface it by saying it was 1994 or 1995, before holiday photos with pets were more common (though I think it’s still just Santa, no E. Bunny). I stood in line at the mall with bunch of parents who thought I was off my rocker. The Bunny’s assistant/photographer didn’t quite know what to do, and said she had to clear it with the Bunny, who slowly nodded his big giant head.

Unfortunately, she left the camera at kid-distance, so it was a little farther away (given the size of the subject) than I would have preferred, and made it hard to see him. Plus, it wound up being a Polaroid that has been gathering dust on my refrigerator ever since. I monkeyed around with it (you can’t even see his ears, and he was a lop), but this is about as good as I got it.

My friends and I thought the whole thing was ridiculously funny, but no one else (the parents, photographer) seemed to get the joke. E. Bunny was inscrutable.

25 kayte 09.26.08 at 9:31 am

is this that new swifferoomba i’ve been hearing so much about?!

26 Hon Glad 09.26.08 at 10:21 am

Give the poor little bugger a hair cut.

Warrior Rabbit: I think it’s hilarious to, I can’t see the Lops disapproval but I feel it emanating from that black furry pile.

27 Katrina 09.26.08 at 11:01 am

I would like to watch that doggie in motion- I bet the fur is light and flies behind him as s/he walks.

Yesterday a Mommie brought the family companion into rehearsal- a “Havachon”- half Havanese and half Bichon Frise, all white and that thing was like a Chinchilla it was so furry and fluffy! It looked a bit like a mini poodle. It was very friendly and attracted just the attention I thought it would- girls going “awwwww” and boys trying really hard not to smile. It was a priceless moment. Obviously a great day for the cause of FUZZ everywhere!

28 Katie 09.26.08 at 11:32 am

@Warrior Rabbit, you’re right- if only your bunny’s ears were upright s/he’d be more discernable. Still, glad you did it. I was a little kid then and it would have made my year to see a bunneh at creepy Easter Bunny

29 bookmonstercats 09.26.08 at 11:43 am

Warrior rabbit, you rock!

Teho, wot is wrong with the puppeh’s ears? I think they are the best part! I am assuming, of course, thet his/her earsies are the adorable curly black bit on the side of his/her head.

*Sigh* for a floor like that.

30 snorglepup 09.26.08 at 11:49 am

OMG!! How can you condone the breeding of boneless dogs?? Can’t you see how he’s suffering!!
Children, avert your eyes.
I’ll NEVER, never never visit CO again.
Oh yeah, I want my money back! *narf, narf, narf*

31 snorglepup 09.26.08 at 11:53 am

The floors people!
Think of the TREES that gave their very lives so you could stare into its shiny surface and polish with your boneless dogs…
Oh,what is this world coming to!!??
Oh sorry. Forgot to take my meds today…

32 Leilani 09.26.08 at 12:32 pm

Does one get a boneless dog at a Boneless Dog Ranch the way one gets boneless chicken at a Boneless Chicken Ranch? Hm. Must ponder a bit more. This is somewhat more complicated than the Sound of One Hand Clapping. P.S. And where DOES one get those floors???

33 momof2kitties 09.26.08 at 12:59 pm

I have those floors! Yes, Sarah-Jane, it is Brazilian Cherry. It’s gorgeous.

But…they show EVERY speck of dust and cat hair no matter how microscopic it may be. Mine never, ever, ever, look that clean and shiny. Ever. Maybe I need one of those doggehs to shine mine up, cuz teh kittehs sure aren’t helping. Maybe I could borrow heem for oh say, a year or two, to try it out?

34 Gail (the first one) 09.26.08 at 1:10 pm

@warrior rabbit: Thanks for your story/pic!! It is adorable (and I’m not surprised that the parents didn’t ‘get’ it!!)

35 Juniper Jupiter 09.26.08 at 1:12 pm

BWAHAHAHAHAA!!! XD!!

Mah fuzzeh buddeh boy black kitteh Nermal does this when we have to take him to the Vee Ee Tee!

He thinks if he lays down REALLY flat we’ll think it’s just a shadow on the table! He ends up looking like a skinned panther! But he tries, LOL!!

36 Jezebel 09.26.08 at 1:19 pm

I find this photo disturbing. Are they really using that poor dog as a rug? That’s really cruel. I can’t believe you would post such awful images CO!

37 elliottsmommy 09.26.08 at 1:47 pm

ahn…that’s a lhasa apso if i ever saw one. they are completely capable of lying flat, all limbs straight out in front and back, if they wish, like only little boneless critters can do. my lhasa blossom does this, but sticks her legs straight out to the sides at perpendicular angles, so i call her Hammerhead Blossom. my lhasa rosie does this on her back, the sweet little brindle harlot. my lhasa elliott is usually on my lap and not the floor, so, alas…

38 Ri L. 09.26.08 at 2:06 pm

Ah, yes, the posture known in my family as “throw ruggin’.” My Westie is so good at it.

39 Patito Gigante 09.26.08 at 2:17 pm

Let’s move it over to the sunbeam so the cat can nap upon it.

40 karen 09.26.08 at 2:29 pm

Throw ruggin? Priceless.

41 chanpon 09.26.08 at 2:45 pm

I’ll bet you this pup just g-l-i-d-e-s on them super shiny floors. Please someone, deliver for us what we all want to see.

42 MandaBain 09.26.08 at 2:57 pm

I look at that dogs face and I think “Ooof.” Or “Hrumph.” I also think of this: http://www.homestarrunner.com/lilbrudder.html

43 Mel2 09.26.08 at 3:11 pm

I can hear Taylor Negron saying, “You don’t need caaaaaapehhht, you need an aaaaaaaaaaareaaaa raaaaaaaaag.”

44 gravyboat 09.26.08 at 3:28 pm

That floor is so shiny, you just know that Puppy’s humans pull him around like a Swifter.

45 ThreeCatNight 09.26.08 at 3:39 pm

I’d love to have a puppeh rug like that in my foyer, but I’m afraid that my three kittehs might scratch on it, or (even worse), go astray and use puppeh for a litter box!!
Go raise children!

46 mberkie0 09.26.08 at 4:07 pm

Just think! It’s a rug that can shake itself!

47 Andi 09.26.08 at 4:36 pm

dog’s ok, but those floors are gorgeous! hardwood? Pergo(r)? Love the color and shine.

48 momof2kitties 09.26.08 at 4:58 pm

Andi: See my comment above. It’s Brazilian Cherry. Occasionally clean. Always pretty, espeshe in the sunshine.

49 sunnymum 09.26.08 at 5:40 pm

Awwwww, what a sweet boneless puppers! Love how you can just see his right eye in the first pic. And the dark furries on the tips of his ears is prosh!
Has anyone seen the commercial where a guy is sweeping some floor dust in to a dust pan, and then he puts the “broom” down and it’s a Pomeranian that gets up, shakes off, and walks away? freaking hilarious!

50 Mary (the first) 09.26.08 at 6:24 pm

The pupper does not seem to have arms. I see toesies, and face, but no arms.
and HOW COME CO does not remember my personal info any more? Ichecked off the box and everything!!?

51 zandor 09.26.08 at 6:31 pm

That is so so cute.

52 Theo 09.26.08 at 7:37 pm

Mary1 — that’s TypePad weirdness. It’s *always* been that way for me. It’s a PITA but I just kinda got used to it.

53 Emochka 09.26.08 at 7:41 pm

Good thing he’s on that shiny floor. On a rug you might just step on that cute fluffball… Oops!

Amy

54 edmundh 09.26.08 at 8:12 pm

That is a puddle of dog.

55 eikoleigh 09.26.08 at 10:03 pm

So that’s the secret to a clean and shiny floor…. Swiffer with puppy legs…

56 Patty 09.26.08 at 10:32 pm

@Warrior Rabbit…I have a blacky furry cat named Swiffer. Named after he climbed on a really high shelf and came down dusty, and I said I was gonna attach a swiffer duster to him and send him back up.
His baby picture is here: http://s74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/prominsky/?action=view&current=cats012.jpg

57 Gail (the first one) 09.26.08 at 11:44 pm

@Patty: My “Swiffer” duster is named Charlie and looked like yours when he was a wee babe! He loves to sneak down to my basement and return, covered in dust and cobwebs!!

58 warrior rabbit 09.27.08 at 1:47 am

Aw, what a cutie Swiffer is. :)

59 Lady W 09.27.08 at 4:35 am

It’s my pup’s doppleganger! Well, plus five pounds of hair.

60 snoopysnake 09.27.08 at 1:34 pm

Yummy loaf of split top white bread!

61 Totalee Puppy 09.28.08 at 3:07 am

I’m huggable but not rug-worthy…all jealous…

62 Shoshanna 09.28.08 at 2:58 pm

SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

63 Raemie L. 09.29.08 at 5:33 am

I still laugh out loud reading the captions, “That’s right Baybees. I leev a double life.
I am bos doggeh, and… ruug.”
XD
