well, my printer has been IMPROVED by the kitties (2) in my house… I think it was mostly the work of the 11# male. The OUT tray has been snapped off… (“but ma, I was JUST printing out my ‘Cool Cats for Obama’fliers and it just FELL off.) So now the print outs go FLYING across the hardwood floor to be persued as “cat toys.”
Oh dang, my post didn’t go through… let me retry this.
My kitties (2) have made some “improvements” on my printer. Including snapping off the OUT tray. I suspect this was the work of the 11# male,(“but Ma, I was JUST printing out my ‘Cool Cats for Obama’fliers and it FELL off.”)
So now prints outs go flying across the hardwood floor to be pursued by said kitties.
HeeHee… my engineering kids call this giving the machine a “technical tap”. Engineer Cat must have an excellent education.

Actually, I don’t think Kitty fell off the table, I think she jumped off. I saw a definite spring in the back legs. She was pretty freaked at the paper popping out at her; I think she jumped to get away from it.

I was laughing so hard by the end — the kitty’s antics are only enhanced by the fact that he is the most gorgeous calico I’ve ever seen. I love him but would unfortunately have to forgo his services.

AAAHHHHH! I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Thank you repair cat, for mending my horrible day!!! This looks just like what my cat does to whatever inanimate object is closest (brush, hanger, shoe . . ) when someone turns the hairdryer on.
My cats do the same thing to my printer. About a year after I got my kitties, my printer stopped functioning properly – the paper came out, but there was either no printing, or it was completely smeared. Changing the print cartridge didn’t help. I went through the whole process of “deep cleaning” the printer and testing and retesting the printer heads, to no avail. It wasn’t until my dad had a go at it that he discovered the problem: a printer head completely clogged with cat hair! (I’m not kidding). Cleaning the cat hair off the printer head is now the FIRST step I do every time I start having printer problems (and fixes it 95% of the time!)

Okay, clearly the government needs to dish out some serious amounts of money so some Cuteologists can research cats’fascination with printers. As soon as my little Siegfried hears the printer turn on, he runs into the office and leaps onto the desk to watch. This is rather unique because when any other appliance is in operation (vacuum, hair dryer, coffee grinder), he runs and hides. Let’s put our tax dollars to work, people!

A-herm! Temporary worker type here! While most of us do appreciate assistance with office equipment with which we may be unfamiliar, because we work in many offices with many different types/styles/manufacturers of office equipment, we are usually MUCH more able to clear cat-hair plugs and burnt paper fans than your usual Johnny-come-lately-into-this-particular-office. I know I have been called upon many times, etc., etc., etc.
