i did that to my hamster. i put 2 cobs in his home and he would fill his pouches, store the corn in his bedding, come back for more and he would repeat this process until he was done. then i moved the bedding away from the stored corns.
Although I don’t have photographic evidence (aka proof), my Husky/Sheppard mix used to eat corn off the cob. She would put the cob on the ground and hold it with one paw and nibble a row at a time with her front teeth, exactly the way humans do. After the first time, we would give her the occasional cob just so we could laugh at her. She didn’t care, was too busy enjoying the butter & salt to notice what her peoples were doing.
I have only one thing to say when these hammies engage in their Cheek Pouch Stuffing Operations … ouch! I start to feel like when I’ve blown up too many balloons!

Bserv: How are you doing?
Are you able to get the rest you need? You are in thoughts and prayers.
Doing better, TPup — back has responded to heat and rest, and friends have come through for me when I needed them, so all is well. Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts!
Whenever my mom used to see a pheasant sneaking around in her garden, she would try to send Goldie, our Cocker Spaniel, out to flush it and keep it away from the corn. Flushing pheasants was something the dog always enjoyed.
Then came the day she was caught in the act. First she pulled open the husks of a cob growing low on the stalk. She then nibbled away.
Up until then, it was the pheasants who got the blame.
Wait, I thought only only humans snorgled? This hammie clearly has an unhealthy relationship with that corn cob in that second picture.
Mmm…buttered corn.
awwwww, cute lil hamsicle!!
A first – the title pun is better than the hovertext!
Interestingly enough, my Macbook was having a kernel panic last week. Sheesh, if it was this cute I wouldn’t have been so frustrated!
What, no bluescreen of death?

Speaking of dogs and corn:
